Should I expect a large crowd? (HHN)

My fiance and I are going Thursday 10/23 to HHN w/IOA 3Hr pass. There isn't much we wanted to do in IOA (Hulk, Doom, Spiderman mostly).

We have been to both Universal and IOA but never HHN. What should we expect on a Thursday?

I am sure it's worth it to get an EP for a weekend but what about a Thursday?

Also, does the HHN EP work for EVERYTHING or just the houses?

Thanks!

Edit: Also, any discounts for EP's? I have trouble believing people actually pay more for an EP than the cost of admission. :/

Last thursday wasn't crowded. Look at the official HHN review thread tomorrow to see if it was crowded this thursday. They priced the EPs according to how crowded they believed it was going to be and so far they haven't been worth the extra cost.

EP only gets you into the houses but the rides generally aren't a long wait anyway. People come to HHN for the houses and shows, you can ride a ride anytime.

As for the cost of EPs, yes it actually does cost twice as much as the admission price on some nights. Even for AP holders.

The Express passes are good for participating attractions...which includes houses and the rides that are open.

We went this past Thursday (the 9th) and it was REALLY crowded. A lot more crowded than I remember it being on a Thursday last year. But it wasn't just HHN. Both the parks were a lot more crowded than I remember them being this time last year.

We had HHN Express Passes, but we still had to wait a bit for some houses (in the rain). So, yes. I would say to expect large crowds when you go. And be happy if they're not there :)

Yeah...I went again last night and it was PACKED! Dark Marauder told me Saturday night was equally as busy.

Hrm, thats gonna suck then. My fiance cant stand huge crowds :/ I broke down and bought the EP's but might not get to use em if its too crowded .. she cant stand it.

Whats worrying me is if the crowds are as big as seen in the Official HHN Review pictures.

Would you say the crowds were that big?

Also, are kids off for the week we are going down there? 19th-28th.

Thanks again!

If your fiance can't stand large crowds then that will cause a problem...even with EP's. You will see people everywhere so I'm not sure how that will affect her.

The fact that Orange County schools are using that Friday 10/24 as a makeup day should positively impact the number of kids. I'm trying to find out if Seminole and Osceola schools are open on Friday too.

Hi Metro West. Sorry I missed you this past weekend. Hopefully we'll get to meet on a future trip.

Getting back to Pyro's concern, do you know of secluded areas where Pyro and his fiance could go to briefly escape the crowds?

I was thinking of a couple locations where the crowds might be light:
1. The area outside guest services, near the entrance of the park.
2. The waterfront area near the Simpson's ride.

Thanks for the info about the schools and open areas.

She can handle small crowds but nothing like a concert where people are elbow to elbow with absolutely no room to move. Where if you want to get through you have to push through.

So when you say they were packed ... do you just mean a lot of people and long lines or concert type like this...

Yeah...too bad we missed each other...maybe next time. :thumbsup2

I think any of the places you mentioned would be fine as well as Delancey Street across from Finnegan's...just sit on one of the sets of stairs and relax a bit.

No, it's definitely not concert-crowded. But there will be times when you'll have to move through a large crowd. It's not so bad that you'll have to actually touch elbows with anyone, but there will always be people around. We didn't have any problems with personal space while we were in line. As long as your fiance can handle normal theme park lines, she should be fine waiting in line at HHN.

We also went to the last showing of Rocky Horror, and it wasn't crowded at all. There was plenty of space to sit by yourself. So I would suggest going to either the first or last showing of the shows so that you won't be packed in the theatres.

If you arrive early you can get a lot done without a lot of people in the park. I would try that, and get as much as you can done. Then you can rest a little while during the middle of the night and finish up what you missed near the end when a lot of people have left.

This could possibly be an issue in some of the houses. I've noticed that at times they get backed up and you're right up against the person in front of you, with someone behind you right up your butt. You may end up standing there (and could be in the dark depending on the house). When this happens, I've even had the people behind me try to push me forward or trample me, but I'm good at standing firm. Could be an issue for those who are claustrophic or very crowd phobic. It doesn't happen every time or even most of the time tho'...just depends on the crowd.

::yes:: Had this done too me last year,Stand firm..:thumbsup2

I always feel bad if I kind of "bump" into someone. It's never big or anything but it's part of the darkness. You can't see and the people behind you don't help at all. It's part of the experience by now.

Sometimes I will keep my hand out in front of me to keep very light finger contact with the person in front. That way I don't trample them too badly. A couple times now I've had terrified people behind me who pretty much hung onto me through most of the house. HHN makes friends out of strangers pretty quickly in the houses!
