Vent...again

I know you all are sick of these threads, but I need to vent ASAP.

First of all, I'm over-stressed.

My Chemistry grades are slipping, and it's only October. I cannot, CANNOT fail out of another honors class. I've gone for after-school help, but I'm getting nowhere fast.

My best friend is a bit depressed, because of the recent death of her grandfather. I'm trying to help her, but how can I pull her together if I can't pull myself together first?

Other relationship (or post-relationship) problems are stressing me majorly. I hate how with my past two relationships, it ended with a fight, and things were screwed up after it. Obviously, I can't hold down a decent relationship.

My surgury in a few weeks. Enough said.

My daily stress level ranges from 5-10. Never below.

My classes at school are somewhat stressful.

My dad is...ugh. All he does is stomp around coughing and swearing...always mad at the bills, mom, me, etc.

I'm also slightly depressed.

I've been having problems lately. Whenever I'm in a mall, Target, any other bright place, I nearly black out. It starts out fine, then everything seems...distant. My mind starts swirling. I almost pass out, sometimes. Also, at home, I'll be fine, just laying on my bed. Then my eyes start to close. I can't keep myself awake until I'm doing something else.

Not many things can make me happy anymore.

I cry almost every day, over the smallest, stupidest things.

I have a lack of focus this year, and for some reason, my drive in school has gone wayyyy down.

I fear for my life.

I fear for my friends.

I have nowhere to turn to.

I hope I didn't waste any of your time.

Get thee to a doctor, STAT. Depression meds really help, and you may have anxiety too. These help tremendously, they've given me my life. Some days I was petrified to leave home. They will help you feel better mentally, your grades will go up I promise.
IIRC, it's been a few weeks since your friends grandfather died. Sorry if this is harsh, but to me it's sounds like she's had plenty of time to grieve. Maybe just tell her "Listen, I know you're sad, but you've been grieveing for 2 weeks now. That is kinda bordering on unhealthy."

Meg, YOU need to come first and foremost right now. You need to keep yourself in tip top conditions for your surgery, being depressed is only going to spiral you downwards.

Thanks, Sonya.

And it's only been a week since her grandfather died. (A week today). So she can still grieve...the funeral was two days ago and all.

Thanks, Alex

No Problem.
My best friends aunt just passed away last week and she has been sad lately and i had a sleepover with her so we could talk about some things.
And it has been hard on me too even though i don't know her aunt.

I agree with Sonya about the doctor. Get to a doctor ASAP. Depression meds really do help. I do/did have depression and when I was on anti-depressants I felt a lot happier.

With school, if your getting stressed and can't handle it. Maybe consider dropping the honors classes to take regular classes.

Sorry Meg, I honestly don't know what to say. I can relate though. I cry a lot, too. I'm stressed out every single day. The DIS is the only time when I'm not stressed, and I know that we're both restricted on how long we can be on here. It just sucks.

awww meg

i totally know how you feel, i really do i wish i could let everything out in some healthy kind of way like crying but i always spiral in something worse...

you really should see someone or talk to someone about depression i would really hate for you to end up somewhere feeling worse than you do now

i'm always here for you if you need to talk i promise

 For your friend. I understand. I only meet my friend's grandpa a few times, but it still hurt me pretty bad.

Thanks, Sofa.

I totallly agree with everything Sonya said. Get to a doctor ASAP. Depression meds really do help. I do/did have depression and when I was on anti-depressants I felt a lot happier.

I can't drop honors. I really can't. It's exactly at my intelligence level. Regular classes would be way too easy for me.

And I'm sorry, Lexi and Sonya, but I'm not going to see a doctor. I can't have heavy meds this close to surgury. I'm pretty sure anti-depressants were on the list of meds that you can't be on this close to your surgury. Besides, I'll be heavily medicated afterwards. I'm really sorry, but I can't get to a doctor. I just can't, and I won't. I'm on bedrest for 2 months, anyway.

It does suck. It's so hard. The DIS is one of the few things that keeps me somewhat sane.

Oh, Kate. If only I could talk to you in person. (that is quite possible, considering the size of our state) I can't find anyone to talk to. Not that I don't/can't trust my teachers, but they'd send me to the school councelor, who'd call my parents. And I can't tell them about this.

Thanks, Nicole

I've read that a great cure for depression is to go for a walk.

Research has found that doing half an hour of exercise 3-4 times a week has the same, or better, effect on depression then drugs, regulary reducing symptoms by 50%.

I'm so sorry.
You're a strong person, you'll pull through but it might take some time and it might not be easy.
Maybe you should just take a hot bath after a long day and just relax and not think about the stress, but i believe you can pull through.

What about anti-anxiety meds? They're also great sleep aids. :thumbsup2 ;) Meg, please take it frome me, you do NOT want to keep this going on while on bedrest. You can't count on being heavily medicated afterwards, it doesn't mean you won't feel (emotionally) anything. Meg, please get this looked at. You don't have to take the meds, but talk to someone. And I'm pretty sure if a class is causing you the stress you say you have, it's overboard for you. I second the trying the easier class, it is really going to help while on bed rest.

Good idea, George. Dance does help me, but it's only once a week. I wish it were more.

(psst...if you get on MSN, we can talk about this!)

Again, I can't take an easier class. I already bombed honors math last year, and I'm not doing well in Chem now. It's too late to switch now (I can switch midyear if I HAVE to, but it's too late now without rearranging my whole schedule).

Anti-anxiety meds would do nothing to me. I don't have anxeity attacks or anything like that, just a bit of dizziness. Nothing that I can't handle.

There's no one to really talk to who wouldn't refer me to a councelor. Last time I went to a councelor, they made me feel worse instead of better. I actually felt better WITHOUT the councelor.

Meg, that's fine and dandy. You don't need to have anxiety attacks to have anxiety. Maybe you should talk to your counselor at school, they should be very accepting. Do you have an IEP or 504?

I have a 504, actually.

Councelors don't really help me (that's just me).

Friends do help me better. They get me, and understand me.

I`m sorry that you`re having so much stress and not happy right now Meg.
But I`d just like to say, if you do think you would like to try anti-depressants, you have to talk to someone first. You can`t just go get some, you`ve got to see a doctor who can prescribe them for you.
This would mean talking to your parents, and possibly a couple of doctors (or a counselor_
