In the past 6 years, we have stayed at All Star Movies. During our Sept. visit, we booked the bounceback but this time at POP...since so many ppl on Dis give it :thumbsup2 .

Now that it is booked, I'm curious to what building would you recommend for us to stay in. We have always stayed in the 101 dalmatain building courtside. A short walk to everything and such a nice view from our room.

I'm really curious as to what Dis'ers would recommend as a good place. I've booked preferred is that matters :) but if it doesn't It can easily be changed.

Where would your ideal room be at POP?

We have only stayed at POP once. We were in the 50's area, building A, about where the two sections make the 'T'. It was a preferred room on the ground floor. Very convenient, close to Classic Hall, buses, baggage check-in, etc.

we've only stayed at Pop once, and didn't request a room or anything .. so take this for what it's worth. LOL

our room was in the 60's, building 4, facing the lake. if we walked down to the end of our hallway, we could see Illuminations. We were in the Play-doh building.

We stayed in the 70's building by the big 8 track tape. The Goofy fountain was right in front of our room, which was kind of cool. It was a very short walk to the food court. I would recommend it.

We just got back from Pop and we were in the 50's, building 3. I think anything in the 50's, 60's, or 70's would be fine.

I didn't make a request when we stayed in a preferred room at Pop. We had a wonderful location in the 70s building overlooking the fooseball players. We were on the 3rd floor and close to everything at the resort. It was a walk to the parking lot but since we used Disney busses, it didn't matter. I would recommend this location in a heartbeat. :goodvibes

Since you booked preferred, I really wouldn't stress over it. :) Some people on the boards did mention that the pool noise was too loud for them at night, if that helps. We had a room in the 70's facing the lake and it was nice for us.

nawww, not stressing(yet...hahaha) It's just that we have never been there and really curious. I'm traveling alone with my youngest and hoping for a lil imput on rooms. This past year, I ended up carrying her back to the room about 80% of the time when we returned to the resort. She is such a sound sleeper that I couldn't wake her up...lol...and carrying a sleeping child from the bus stop isn't much fun.:rotfl:

Here's another question for everyone. I seen in one of the above posts that you could see the fireworks...I didn't even realize this...how cool! Is this just from certain floors/rooms or anywhere on the grounds of POP?

We are staying at POP for the first time in March and I requested a preferred room. I wonder where they will put me. HOpefully the 50s building!

Does anyone have a listing of what the preferred buildings are? We're staying here for the first time in December and was curious. I don't need to pay extra for a preferred building, but would like to be close to the bus stop if possible.

I was looking for the same thing. From what I was told by a CM, POP doesn't have preferred buildings, like the All-Stars, they have preferred rooms located throughout the buildings. So, for example, the rooms at the 70's building closest to the pool or the food court may be preffered. The other rooms in that building would be standard.

Can anyone confirm that this is true?

We have stayed at POP twice. The first time we ended up in such a great room that the 2nd time we requested that same area. The first time we had the corner room on the top floor of the back side of the 60's building (rooms 5101-5472). I don't remember the exact room number but if you look at the resort map on allears.net you'll see that across the back of the property is "Memory Lane" and our room was right below the "M" in Memory.
We LOVED this room. It was super quiet, you had a great view of the lake, it was a quick walk to the main building - we couldn't have been happier. Our send trip we requestd a room in that same area and our request was granted. Again in was wonderful.

Have fun at POP - we LOVED it there! :thumbsup2

I've stayed at POP multiple times....here's where.
Bldg 2 of 50's...way to the back by the rear bowling pin, on the third floor. It was a great room, very quiet. Kind of a longish walk to the main areas though.
Bldg 1...50's, towards the back, closer to the parking lot area, ground level. It's now considered 'preferred'..was standard when I was there.
Bldg 7...80's, on the back side, facing the parking lot/lake to the right...ground level.
Bldg 4...60's...fourth floor, facing the lake...my favorite room of all!
Bldg 0 (10 I suppose)...70's, preferred room, ground level, facing the back of the food court bldg, short walk to the bus, across the parking lot.

Like I said, the room in bldg 4 was my favorite. It wasn't the closest room I've ever had, but the view was wonderful and it was very quiet! Actually, I won't book a preferred room again. I liked my standard rooms much better!

Wow thanks for the insight!

I think we are leaning towards the 60's building. DD and I were looking at the map (thanks) and she seen Baloo. She loves the big bear so I have a feeling that is where we are going to be :) .

where is the best place to see the fireworks? Not room wise but while we are strolling around the resort.

We have stayed at Pop a few times I also ask forthe 70's building it is close to the food court and the big pool.
