WOW!!!! All I can say is WOW!!!!! :goodvibes Our first time staying at Poly, for 10 glorious days!!! We really enjoyed the resort so much. It is truly beautiful, I could spend days just walking around the grounds, they are so lush and tropical. (Could do without the cheesy music though....). We were in Tokelau, room 2917. I requested that room, and actually got it... The weather was wonderful. Heat not unbearable at all, had a few days with low humidity, and no rain until day nine (and that was just for a short part of the day). I can't make any guarantees about photos, as I have not tried to put them on this site. If I can, I will.

We have no complaints whatsoever about this resort. Housekeeping was great, room was clean and well stocked with towels (4 of us in the room).:thumbsup2

We did the vacation club tour of the new Bay Lake Towers, and they are SPECTACULAR!!!! CR has been our fav, so now that they are offering BLT, we thought we would check it out and see it. I can answer questions about that too if anyone has any. Based on the construction going on at CR Tower, I am very glad we chose Poly this trip. It was VERY noisy in the tower, and I would not have enjoyed that...

Poly may be our new fav, it was just so beautiful, and peaceful. :flower3: Crowds were low, very few days that the crowds were not fun. We did MNSSHP, which was a blast!!

Fire away with any questions.......

How were the crowds for MNSSHP? What time did you arrive? We are going next week and I am so excited.

The crowds were very low in my opinion, and also that of some fellow party goers who stated the same. We arrived just before 7pm, happy to see the throngs of non party goers leaving, so we could have the park to ourselves (or so we like to think). We really enjoyed the parade, dd5 made up a special halloween dance to the music. I videotaped needless to say, and will torture her when she is 16 by showing it to her friends :-)rotfl2: We really enjoyed how the park was decorated. As usual, you could walk onto rides without any line whatsoever, which for us, is one of the perks of these hard ticket parties.

Have fun!!!!:cool1:

Isn't the Polynesian just lovely? Glad you had so much fun.

What did you like about BLT models? Hoping to see them myself very soon.:cool1:

Glad to hear you had a great trip and loved the Poly :wizard:. We had our first stay at the Poly last September and we loved it :goodvibes. We had no problems with housekeeping or anything else either....and you're right....the grounds are beautiful :thumbsup2. Welcome home and glad you had such a great time :dance3:.

I just changed our reservation from the Beach Club to the Polynesian. My husband keeps asking if I'm sure this is nicer and I think I'm sure but I've never been to the Beach Club and I only was at the Polynesian one afternoon to see what it was like on our last trip. Was it the right choice to switch???

IMO, yes!! I guess it depends on your preference, but we went to the Beach Club our second night to catch an Illuminations Cruise. The place frankly, does nothing for me. I'm really not into the nautical theme. There is certainly nothing wrong with the Yacht and Beach Club, and I know they have a great mini water park for kids. My little one loved the Volcano Pool at Poly so much I could barely get here out of the pool long enough to get her to stay in the parks. I literally walked so slowly through the grounds I drove dh crazy. It's breathtaking. It's like walking through a rain forest to me I know you will like it, my guess is better than Beach Club!!!!

I enjoyed the style - VERY contemporary, which I love!! They make excellent use of space, and the kitchens have granite countertops!! Both the living room and the bedroom have balconies, there are two bathrooms (I'm talking about the 1 bedroom - which we would need with four of us who go each year), very spacious!!!! But the points to stay there, needless to say, are high, too high for us, so after crunching the numbers, we decided the savings just wasn't there for us.

Did you see the Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Luau Cove?

This show is at the Poly right?

We did not do that this year. We walked by Luau Cove, and could see part of it from the walking path. It is VERY LOUD. Maybe we will try it another year...

Hi There! Great to hear that you enjoyed the Poly so much. We will be there for the first time this November (43 days to be exact!). Just wondering what made you request that room location?

I was checking out Tikiman's website, and I saw that those end rooms sometimes afford you at least a partial view of the Castle. We couldn't see the castle, but we could see CR, and the view was decent. From having spent time wandering around the grounds, I would probably try to stay at Tahiti the next time we stay there. Lagoon view overlooks a beautiful (somewhat) private beach, and is close to the TTC. We found that we used the TTC frequently, as well as the smaller boat that takes you to MK. And even though we went to the GCH every day, the walk was not bad. At first I thought I would mind everything being so laid out, but once I had a chance to take in the lush grounds, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I would walk twice as far to the GCH or TTC, just to enjoy the beautiful grounds. I really loved this resort, and feel blessed to have been able to have such a long stay there.....

Hey! 43 days for me too. Staying at the Poly! Party of 6; 2 girls, 2 parents one on a scooter, myself and the husband.

How long are you staying?

We leave in 12 days for Disney! We have free timeshare but are splurging for 2 nights at the Poly! I'm SO SO SO glad you posted how happy you were there. In case I can request a room and by far off chance get it, what would you recommend? Did you LOVE your room?

Also, our 5 yo ds is a new swimmer. How is the slide at the volcano pool - would one of us have to go with him or wait at the bottom for him? I think I'm going to get a lifevest our first day there just to BE SURE. I'm a paranoid mama.

Oh, your description of the grounds make me grin ear to ear just thinking about it. I LOVE the tropical atmosphere but could never afford Hawaii. I remember last time I was at the Poly (30 years ago) I felt like I was truly on an island! I can't flippin wait!

By any chance, did you try any of the dining, specifically Ohana? My family are local's and wanted to come over our first day to check out the resort and have dinner, would that be a good choice? We are driving in 12 hours and I think DH and I will be too tired to take in a park the first day. Will we be satisfied hanging out at the resort that day, or will we be park itchy? The other dining option would be Chef Mickey's... but our kids would be the only ones in the party so I am not sure

Thanks for the response! The reason I asked is because when I called to make our reservation a very nice CM was helping me and she said that the Poly was her favorite resort. She suggested that we request either Tokelau or Tahiti. However, when she sent the confirmation email, it said "guest requests either Tokelau or Hawaii." I understand Hawaii is all club level, so I am just assuming they'd place us in Tokelau if that was available. Do you think I should call and have them correct it so it lists Tahiti instead of Hawaii? Ahh..There is so much stress to this DIS planning! :lmao:
