This defies logic! Is it because everyone visits Disney on the weekends?

Sundays are usually good, but Sat.?! Depends on the time of year, of course, but in my experience Sats. are much more crowded than weekdays.

I can tell you from personal experience Sundays are usually more crowded than Saturdays most of the time. The best time to visit a theme park is during the week.

When are you planning on making a visit?

There is a long discussion at the touringplans.com website in the Crowd Calendar section about Saturdays not being higher than 4th most crowded day of the week at any WDW park. They back it up with data from the transportation department, AAA and hotel bookings. The short explanation is that Saturday is a travel day. I'm going to test that theory by taking note of the actual wait times vs the UG predicted wait times for Saturday, Oct. 18 at MK and I'll post the results when I get back. Here is a quote from their website: (Note that this is from the publicly available section, not the subscribers only section)

A couple of interesting things to note in the above graph: First, 25 to 50% more guests visit the Magic Kingdom on Thursday than Tuesday. And more guests visit any Disney theme park on Sunday than on Saturday. In fact, Saturday ranks no higher than fourth (Epcot) on the list of busiest days at each park, and Sunday was listed more frequently than Saturday for every Walt Disney World theme park.

They predict a crowd level of 4 for the day of my visit (again, this is from the non-subscribers section) which means peak waits of 35 - 44 minutes. Unless they add the 18th as another FF day for HHN we will test the accuracy of these numbers. They predict the 17th to be a crowd level of 6 and, since we could go on either day, we are hoping their predictions are accurate. But we'll let you know.

December 7-16. We plan on doing 6 days at Disney, and having my buddy with the AP buy us 2-day tickets at half price. It took us 3 or 4 days to do most of what we wanted to do on our last trip, so I was hoping to choose the two best days this time around!

I am using Undercover Tourist's traffic light system to make tentative plans, and I plan on joining touringplans in the coming weeks, but i am afraid they will have nothing on Universal parks. I appreciate any input.

Like I always say also-weekdays..:thumbsup2

The locals are working then...

I like to see how accurate undercover tourist really is also!!

Yes, I should probably qualify my experience...on Sundays (or any other day) I don't get there till a little before 4 because we have premier passes and have FOTL after 4 p.m. Sats. are probably busy longer since locals don't have to get up for work the next day. On Sun. the locals would tend to clear out earlier so my view is probably skewed by my late arrival.

You shouldn't have many issues with lines during early December regardless of which day you go. That said...try to stick to weekdays and IF you decide to purchase Express passes, wait until you see what the lines are looking like. DO NOT purchase them ahead of time.

Thanks for the input. I will take it all into consideration as I make my plans!
