My boy will be beyond excited!! Heck Mom and Dad are excited :-)

How is the Character interaction there?

We go to US/IOA often but this will be the first time for this breakfast

We've done it twice. Both times have been fantastic. One year the guy doing Spiderman was particularly great and gave lots of time to our kids, including special birthday stuff.

Hope you have a similar experience. Oh ya, the food was good also.

the attention your son will receive is worth the cost of the tickets for all of you.

don't be surprised if spidey jumps on the table while you are sitting there.
he even sounds like the spidey we see in the movies/tv.

he will mimic the actions of spidey throughout the period.

thing 1 & 2 will blow you away.

if you tell them to do something, they will do opposite of it. hint hint....

the cat will be there.

sometimes there are more characters but i don't remember which other ones we say when we had the spidey breakfast.
we loved the characters.

they will address you by name and do all the pictures you want with them.

they will go around to each table.

if the place only has a couple of tables filled, you will eventually say to yourself, i wish they would leave so i could eat.........

orange juice is an add on to the bill if you order it.
it is not included in the buffet.
unless they changed that in the past year...

What is the food like please?

just like laura posted, basic breakfast foods.

plenty of it.

some people have said they loved it, thought it was ok, or did not like it.

anytime you do a breakfast buffett and have to have the heating trays full of food for the guests, some of it will be sitting there for awhile before it is used. it depends on the time it was filled up to the time you went to the buffet counter.

if you find the bacon is dried out or too greasy, tell the hostess you want a fresh batch of bacon and not from the warming tray that is out.
same goes for the eggs/biscuits.

they will do that for you.
it is not a problem.

any food that sits out on warming trays will not have that "fresh taste" if it has been sitting there for the last 20 minutes, especially biscuits.

(i think the reason some people have complained that the food was not to their liking is because of the length of time it has been out.)

don't let that ruin your time there.
ask the hostess for fresh eggs, biscuits, bacon, etc.......

i'm speaking from experience here. they were happy to do that for me and i only had a short wait for the "fresher" food.

and, if you don't want to pay extra for juice, tell the hostess no when she asks do you want orange juice.

i learned the hard way on that.
i didn't look over the paper before i went.

hope you enjoy the interactions there with the characters!
it really is one of the better character meals we have done.

that one on one contact is fantastic.

and one more thing, if your child wants more time with spidey, thing, cat, etc, don't be shy.
go to the hostess and give her a heads up on what would make your kid happy and have more time with the characters.

with the full costumes they are wearing, they can't always see clearly to the side of some they might have missed.
they can see straight ahead great but turning around in those costumes sometimes aren't as easy.

Sounds good - how far out can you book this?

i don't remember.
probably a month, maybe more....???

this is from the website:

if you are not in the usa, maybe you could send an email for that info.
or maybe someone that has gone recently could answer your question.

you can make the ressie the day you arrive if you are going to be there for a few days.

i have read trip reports where people have stated they made the ressie the morning they went.

Thanks - we won't be there until July but I like to be prepared. It will be our first time at US/IOA as we cancelled our reservation this year when Faye came in. I'm booking a longer stay at US next year to try to make sure we get some decent weather at least

soooo cool, sound like u'll have a great time:goodvibes

we're not much on breakfast (we were going to book The simpsons one  ), wish they'd have a charactar lunch

please take pics & post:)

Hope you have a good time here. I was very excited about it also!!

We saw Spidey once .... long enough to take a photo.

We saw Cat in the Hat once.... again long enough to take a photo.

No one was with them that I could give my camera to in order for me to be in the picture with my family.

The meal cost us $135 (I think that was before tip too) ....the food was really terrible......

Thing 1 and Thing 2 skipped us and went around a second time to the other people.....at this point I complained and they took 15% off the bill.

I cant tell you how disappointed I was and then I felt idiotic for being so disappointed......it was really bad if I complained....I dont usually have the nerve to complain but the food was just sooooo bad and the interaction soooooo non-existent that I made myself say something or else I would have been kicking myself later......

Maybe it was because we have teens? I dont know but it was really bad.

I booked the Spidey breakfast today for Oct. 23rd. I'll be posting/blogging live from Universal Beginning Oct 20th - 24th so I'll post a full report with pictures of the breakfast on the 23rd.

I agree with this. We went 4 years ago and the food was the worst buffet that I have ever had in America. Spiderman was miserable and unfriendly to my 7 year old twin nephews and the other characters hardly interacted at all. The only thing that saved it was one superhero that we had never heard of that joked around with the children and stopped it from being a complete waste of time. I hope that it has improved since then but after doing the Pooh and friends breakfast at Crystal palace a few days before this was so dissapointing.

Hope you have a good time here. I was very excited about it also!!
