Ok, so I'm not actually going back to HHN until next year, but a month or so back I was planning the best way to get us there as a group, and as it seemed most people would already have Universal day passes, S&S was going to be the most cost effective option.

Just went for a nosy again today at the ticket prices, and the S&S option has vanished!!

Is this because HHN has now started and S&S is only available for purchase before the whole event run begins? Please tell me this is normal and they should still be offering them again next year  If this is the case, I'll have to make sure we get them bought in advance won't I :thumbsup2 I'm surprised that they aren't still bookable for later in the month though, hoping one of you experts will come and shed some light on this for me.....

Stay & Scream is available every night HHN runs. Remember...there is no such thing as an actual Stay & Scream pass. You can get the S & S upgrade to your regular day tickets but in order to do S & S, all you need is a valid day ticket and HHN ticket...they will not issue you a separate ticket just for S & S.

When you actually go through the 'Buy Tickets' link, I can't find them anywhere in there though?

Thinking about what Metro just said, and something I read online - 'To purchase your Stay and Scream upgrade online, you must purchase an additional daytime admission ticket to Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure', I'm also worried I've got confused about something else too:

We will all have UK passes which are valid for 7 days at both Universal parks, and someone on here told me that's fine to add S&S to one of those days, but the above implies we must be purchasing a day ticket at the same time as the S&S and wouldn't be able to use an existing ticket.....
I was also told that with S&S you did not need to purchase a day ticket AND a HHN ticket, because the S&S was your HHN admission. Was this information wrong and S&S is just the part that lets you stay in betweeen?

I though I had this all sussed, but now I'm totally back to square one! :upsidedow

Ok, I've gone back to the old thread to do my research, can someone clarify if this information is in fact correct?

....
the S & S tickets are the hard tickets for the event....

ahhhhhhh so is S&S an add on to a normal park pass and you don't need a seperate HHN pass?

I might have just actually understood it now!! :rotfl2:

yes.

if you call to buy your ticket in advance, tell the tm you want to buy the ADD ON ticket for HHN.

you have to tell them the date you want the ticket valid for

the ADD ON ticket is your ticket for HHN entrance.
anyone at the park the day of HHN, does not have to leave the park.
you can go to the Stay and Scream area and wait for the all clear signal to start the houses early.

S & S is what UO calls the holding area

doh! that's where I was getting confused, I thought you had to pay for S&S aaand HHN seperately.

So can you be in either park for S&S?

We'll have pre-bought tickets from the UK (most likely on a 7 days for the price of 2 offer or something like that) - are we still entitled to S&S?

Ok so from this info you can see Macraven tells me that I do not need a seperate HHN ticket, the S&S pass is our entrance ticket.

But above -
...but in order to do S & S, all you need is a valid day ticket and HHN ticket...
Metro tells me I need a day ticket and a HHN ticket to get S&S

Which is correct please?

And Raph implies that perhaps I can't add to my UK pass online, but should be able to do it over the phone.
Hey Meryll,

We have UK tickets, and I just called up Universal, told them this and asked for the stay and scream add on and they sorted it out, no problems :)

I'm planning on arriving about 4pm on the day I'm going to HHN
I might give them a ring to double check this, as I don't want to give my group the wrong information and have them disappointed next year, does anyone know the best number to call?
This still doesn't explain why the S&S tickets don't seem to be on the ticket site at all :confused3

Someone please come and sort my head out!! :rotfl:

It's very simple. Stay & Scream allows you to stay in the park after it closes. OK...you have to have some way of getting into the park BEFORE it closes...the only way to do that is to have a valid day ticket. If you don't have a ticket that's good for daytime admission, you certainly can not stay in the park before it closes. If you purchased the seven day tickets, then you have the daytime admission already. The only other ticket you would need is the HHN ticket for that night. The S & S add on that Mac was talking about is assuming you already have a ticket that allows you into the park during the day. Basically, you are buying a HHN ticket at a reduced rate.

You will need to have two tickets for S & S...one is the daytime ticket and the other is the HHN ticket. Once you go to the S & S area, they will scan the HHN ticket to make sure it's valid.

Does that help?

I concur with Metro.

As long as you are inside the park already and have a valid ticket for that night's HHN event, you can just stay in the park and take advantage of S&S.

Stay and scream isn't an event it's a convenience so you don't have to leave the park at the end of the day then turn around and come right back in. You will see it sold inside the park as Stay and Scream because they are trying to convince people who are at USF for the day to buy a ticket for HHN. People with 7-day tickets or Annual Passes will normally skip the day portion of the park and show up some time before the official closing time so they will be inside when it closes, giving them a head start over the people outside who are only coming for HHN and have to stay outside the gate until HHN oficially starts.

That's what I do. Have you been spying on me? :rotfl:

that link i posted should take you right to them...
but from that page, try and buy them via the 'buy tickets' link. That's when I can't find them...

Sorry guys, I'm still confused.

Am I correct in thinking that if I have a day ticket, I can buy the S&S and that allows me to stay that day for HHN and is effectively my entrance to the event?
So all I need to have is a day ticket and S&S?

I am hoping this is the case, as S&S seems around half the price of a standard HHN ticket not bought in conjunction with a day ticket.

I think you are confusing yourself. Let's try this again:

There is NO such thing as a Stay & Scream ticket. What you are seeing online is for the Stay & Scream upgrade...which is basically a reduced HHN ticket and since you have to purchase a day ticket to get the rates you have to buy them together. Those discounted rates are what passholders receive on HHN tickets w/o having to buy a day pass. I believe you said you had the seven day tickets already. In that case, you can add on the HHN tickets for the reduced rate. The link Steady Riot provided is the correct link and has all the information you need.

You WILL NOT receive a ticket with the words Stay & Scream any where on it. S & S is the holding area where you wait until HHN opens...not an actual ticket.

The only two tickets you will need are: HHN ticket for whatever night you're going and the regular admission ticket for Universal...again...you WILL NOT receive a pass with the words "Stay & Scream".

If you remember Stay & Scream is NOT an actual ticket but just a holding area, you should not be confused about how it works.

I can't think of any other way to explain it any clearer.

I understand the confusion about calling it a stay and scream pass as it is an upgrade or add-on they offer to a guest who already has admission to the park in some form. On the site that Riot linked, they call it "stay and scream" and I'm not sure why you couldn't find the way to it, but if you have your tickets already, the web-site won't let you just buy the add-on pass as you have to buy it in conjunction with a day pass of some sort. (I tried to put a stay and scream ticket in my cart, but without a reg. park pass, it would not let me try to checkout). I know you can purchase the upgrade at the park, but I would call them to see what to do as you can't be sure it won't sell out the night you want to go if you wait to buy it there. I would just call and tell them you have 7 day passes and you want to get a HHN pass to stay and scream.
Keep in mind, you DO have to use one of your days on the 7 day pass to do that as that IS the actual entrance into the park, then the HHN "stay and scream" ticket is your ticket to the event (the upgrade alone won't gain you access to the park ONLY the HHN event) . Stay and scream is just a perk for anyone who already has a day admission, is in the park and then has a valid admission of some sort for HHN the same day.

I would give them a ring! ;)

I think I was just confusing myself! :rotfl2:

So if I ring and they say yes you can upgrade one day of your 7 day pass, what I'll receive in the post is a HHN ticket and I am entitled to stay in the parks until they let us in for HHN.

Effectively, anyone who has been in the parks that day and has a HHN ticket for that night can stay and scream, what I'm actually buying in S&S is an upgrade to my day ticket giving me HHN admission.

Am I there yet?! :lmao:

Ok so I gave the ticket peeps a call, the first girl I spoke to didn't think I could add to an existing day ticket, and that I had to be purchasing that at the same time, but said she'd ask another department that might do this and would transfer me through if it was possible.

The guy I then spoke to said it could be done :thumbsup2

Just have to hope I get the same response in a years time! Eek!!

You said it just right. However you get your HHN ticket, whether it be by upgrade, separate or whatever, as long as you also have a day ticket you'll be allowed to Stay and Scream. You just have to produce your vaid HHN ticket to be allowed in the S&S pen.
