Why cut down FANTASMIC!!!!!!!!!

I still can't believe they are going to only 2 shows for Fantasmic starting in 2009!
This is going to make an already hard show to get into even HARDER!!!!!!!!!
I realize that it is not Wishes or Illuminations.......but it is still one of the best things about Disney period!
Don't cut back on what Disney does best........close a few eateries or shops instead!
Just my thoughts on the subject

Yeah, whats up with that? I'll be going early next year for a week to celebrate my little sister's b-day and there will only be one show available for that week we are staying! On top of that, she is REALLY looking foward into seeing since it's her first time back at DHS since 1993.

I'm disgusted at it. Its packed every night. Where's the logic? I saw on the calendar for 2009 they're actually doing some 3:00 shows. Just seems ridiculous to me.

I'm upset by this too. I read somewhere (can't remember where) that there was speculation that F! was cut down because Disney was anticipating crowds to watch the finals of the onsite daily AI competition.

Well, alright...but now the opening of that attraction has been pushed back to coincide with the finale of the real AI in May. Apparently there are plans to whisk away the next AI and have them perform at DHS to open the attaction.

What does all this mean? Well, hopefully Disney will add more F! in during the spring since guest will not have the AI option. We'll see.

I'm thinking that the real reason is $$$. It's a very expensive show to produce, with a lot of pyrotechnics, several boats, and a large cast.

I could understand having dark nights on an expensive show that wasn't filling the seats. However, Fantasmic DOES fill the seats every night, even in the slow season...

I think Disney's going to have a lot of ticked off guests when they can't get into Fantasmic either because the theatre is full or it won't be showing when they are there...

I hadn't heard about the 3:00 p.m. shows but that does seem ridiculous! How good can a pyrotechnic show be in the middle of the afternoon?

I'm thinking we won't even set foot in DHS on the 2 days a week when it's scheduled. I can see the whole park getting really crowded all day and getting even worse as people arrive in the evening just for Fantasmic.

We'll just see it at Disneyland. It's a better show there anyway.

I'd rather see Fantasmic than any AI. I go to Disney for Magic. Fantasmic is everything I go for in one swoop. If I wanted to see a concert I'd go to one closer to home and save a thousand dollars or two. Keep Fantasmic!!

I'm sure it has to do with the American Idol attraction.
I haven't even watched the SHOW since season ONE. And I know I'm not alone. I can tell you I'll be skipping the attraction ( and possibly the park altogether ) on days that Fantasmic! is not showing.

I understand that AI will be a huge draw, but I can't see all of these guests coming to the park every night to view the finals. they come to this park (especially in the eveings to view this show) This is a cost cutting measure, plain & simple. If they are not careful one that could come back and bite them.
Fantasmic is a wonderful production and everything that Disney should be. American Idol is a huge production and everything Disney should not be!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more with my fellow Dissers. This seems like a terrible decision on Disney's part. It makes me terribly sad. Fantasmic is our absolute favorite - every visit! We have never been that the show was not at capacity or overflowing w/ standing room only. The concessions alone at F! must pay for the pyrotechnics... not to mention the light up toys and F! souvenirs! What are they thinking? I would sign a petition to keep F! Maybe we could start one here on Dis. It makes me sad to think that F! could become but a fond memory. AI has its place in culture... leave my Disney experience alone!

UGH! This is bad news! is it deffinate? I was planning on not getting hoppers for our 09 trip. now I will have to use a whole days worth of ticket for fantasmic(its our fav show) I dont want to miss it but I also dont want to spend the day in the park if they are only having it 2 nights a week! Does that include weekends too???

Let's make sure it is clearly understood that we all love Fantasmic and do not want to see it cut down to 2 shows per week.
Everyone should sound off and let them know what a huge mistake this would be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
