Some wildlife pics.

This butterfly was tiny (the size of my thumbnail!) so I was pleased to have captured the little guy (at Magic Kingdom!)

AWESOME Job!:thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing!

What camera/lens did you use for most of them?

Thank you:thumbsup2

They were taken with Canon 30D.

Most night shots were taken using the "nifty fifty" 50mm f/1.8.

Most of the wildlife was taken with the Canon 70-300IS (except the butterfly as I didnt have it with me that day!)

The rest with my "walkabout" lens, Canon 17-85IS.

All handheld, or braced on available supports (like trash cans, walls and fences!). This is mainly because the remote shutter release I ordered never turned up in time for the holiday, and it dampened my enthusiasm for taking night scenes - hence I never bothered lugging the tripod to the parks (smacked wrist!). This was very much a learning experience as it was my first major shoot with this camera (apart from a few days out at home). I feel a bit more confident setting up shots now, and NEXT TIME (hope DH is listening  ) I will certainly make use of a tripod, remote shutter and maybe even a faster lens or two!

More Pics and a little background to the trip HERE:thumbsup2

Great job. Love all the night shots. Especially the one from the bridge between the UK and France looking towards France. Very nice!

Where are the meercats and gorillas?
btw nice pic of the kids 'conspiring' ;)

What camera did you use??

Never mind I missed the post you gave the info

Where are the meercats and gorillas?

Both at AK. The meerkats are pretty easy to shoot if they are active as they perch then go stock still for a few seconds. Some parts of the day though, they are all asleep and you can stand there for ages and not see one!

I was lucky with the Gorillas this year - this big guy spent ages sat there. The only problem was, I was standing on the "swinging bridge" and every time anyone even BREATHED, the thing would rock alarmingly ruining a whole batch of pics!! Whoever designed that stupid bridge was certainly not a photographer LOL!!

I did take some Gorilla shots at Busch Gardens but havent included any in this set ( I think the Gorilla shots in my previous thread were BG ones).

I am looking for photos of Halloween and/or Autumn displays throughout the world. I think Disney begins putting their decorations up about now? My niece and her family are going to WDW on October 20th and they would very much like to see what this time of year at Disney looks like at the various parks, resorts, etc.

So if anyone has any, PLEASE post away. Thank you

If anyone is wondering what those "ghost" figures are in my last couple of pictures, they are ghosts. WDW is a popular place for ghosts around Halloween. You can't see them with the naked eye and most cameras filter them out. I used an ND filter which shifts ghostly objects into natural daylight so that the camera can see them.

:rotfl2: Well, it is nice to see that your rough times due to the storm have not changed you.

I was there three weeks ago and the decorations were already going up. It was a rainy day, so no outside shots to show. Here are some from last year.
