Leaving Saturday, and a very loose 1st tooth...

for my son. It's his 1st & is very excited. I think he will end up loosing it in Disney. Any ideas for something special we could do? As far as the "tooth fairy?"

How fun to lose your tooth at Disney. You can print out some fake Disney money to put under his pillow (see Just for Fun/DISsigns). Buy some tinkerbell confetti at the dollar store and sprinkle it from the door to your son's bed/pillow to show the trail that the special Tinkerbell/toothfairy used. Print out a special Disney note to put under his pillow. Make a button that says "I lost my 1st Tooth". Have fun!!

We just got back from WDW and had a similar situation. My DD 7 had a really loose front tooth that finally fell out the morning we were getting off of the Disney Magic and going to Animal Kingdom Lodge. She was really upset because she just knew that the tooth fairy wouldn't find her there! We asked the CM's if they had anything for that situation, and after much searching they came up with a pair of Tinkerbell pins for her. It was SO nice of them; we thought they might have a certificate or something, nothing like that. Well, when she woke up and found those under her pillow with a dollar, her face was priceless. We decided that since Tinkerbell was a fairy too, maybe she and the tooth fairy know each other. Anyway, it was really special. Since a boy probably won't be as thrilled with Tinkerbell, maybe Buzz or Mickey could leave something? Hope you have a good trip!

When our DD lost a tooth right before her Disney trip, I had some extra Disney dollars and I left them under her pillow instead of real cash with a note from the tooth fairy saying "I thought this might come in handy-say hi to Tink for me".
My DD thought this was great-plus she was worried that the tooth fairy wasn't allowed on Disney property because it was Tinkerbells territory- .

She did yell out to Tink during Wishes-"Hey the tooth fairy said HI!!!" And she told Cinderella "I have you underwear on!!".

We had a similar situation on our last trip. My DD lost her tooth during the Spectromagic parade and was worried that the tooth fairy wouldn't find her in WDW. We came up with the the tooth fairy-Tinkerbell connection as well and that convinced DD that everything was all right. I found a CM and asked for some pixie dust that they use during parades. The CM didn't have any but went and found some for us. That night not only did the tooth fairy leave Disney dollars under the pillow but the pixie dust was evidence to DD that Tink had been there as well. A very magical moment!

I think it would be very magical to have the tooth fairy visit the 1st time at Disney. Definitely have some Disney dollars. My son got $10 for the first tooth and $5 for each after (he's lost 8 now - 2 in one week, I thought he was pulling them on purpose for a while there). My son lost one at the Great Wolf Lodge - after he went to sleep, I went down to the arcade and got $5 in tokens -- he loved it and couldn't wait to get down there and spend them the next day.

Just a hint, buy a little box or something for the tooth and sit it on the dresser or shelf -- that way you don't have to dig under a pillow in the dark. We have a little ceramic box with a baseball lid that he got for his baby shower - dd has a litle box with a tooth on it when her's start falling out. Then you slip in and grab the box, make the switch in the light where you can see and slip the box back in.

You could be like my friend. Her daughter lost her tooth right before dinner and the server said "Wow, aren't you lucky, Tinkerbell works here ... she leaves $10! Much more than that silly Tooth Fairy!" Yep, they got conned into leaving their daughter $10 for a tooth.

It was really cute, and my sister was trying to pull out a tooth at Disney for about three years after that.

I think I'd have deducted the difference between what the *silly tooth fairy* would have left vs. what Tinkerbell leaves from her tip! Although I'm not one to talk, I guess. Dd, 6, had to have a tooth pulled last week and she was very scared. Never had any dental work done besides cleanings. She was so brave and so good that she got a Wii game. In my defense, it was a cheap $20 game. And I made it a point to tell her that it must have been the situation and not to expect such a good haul with the next tooth.

anyway, back to the OP....We did Disney Dollars when ds lost a tooth at WDW.
