How much should I pay for a used DS?

I found on craigslist a used DS that comes with a case, a charger, and a super mario bros game. The person wants $70- is that too much? also, what should I look for to make sure it's in good condition? I told him I would want to turn it on and make sure it works prior to buying it.

Is it a DS or a DS Lite? The Lite is a newer model and worth a little more. I think it's a little high for a used electronic UNLESS it is genuinely like-new in mint condition, still in the box.

Sounds like a good price - used ones in Gamestop are only about $15. less than new ones (when you can find them). And they don't come with any games or cases.

You should definitely make sure that:
1. It turns on AND off
2. It charges (plug into a wall and see if the charging starts)
3. The screens are not cracked

When I first read the thread title I thought you were trying to sell your kid.:lmao:

:rotfl2: $70 for a used dear son :rotfl2:
No really if it all works well and it is a mario ds game it is a great deal. if you don't believe look what they are going for on ebay.
:rotfl2: sorry still laughing abot two pp.

i went to go sell my DS at GameStop and they would only give me $16 for it! forget that. I paid $130!

I wonder if the battery doesn't hold a charge when it gets older? I haven't noticed that yet with our Nintendo DSs, but I've heard of it happening with older iPods. (I've also read you can buy replacement batteries for iPods; is that possible for Nintendo DSs, too?)
