They should have Kona everywhere in Poly. They don't even have it at O'HANA'S:eek: . It's time to change the coffee all around Disney. We bring our own coffee with us we are fans of Dunkin Donut coffee:woohoo: . It's Kona or DUNKIN DONUT coffee or nothing.:surfweb:

That is strange, b/c we were there at the beginning of the month and had no problem ordering the mickey waffles using a childs credit. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the there was no difference in the CS credits on the dining plan, they are just all lumped together.

The cs credits are not lumped together however, they can tell how many adults and children are in your party. If you order say, 3 adult cs meals, they will tell you you can't do that as there is only 2 adults in your party - specifically this happened at the Flame Tree BBQ in AK. As for Capt. Cook's, my husband was purchasing the mickey waffles for my dd's, tried to use the ddp and I see him motioning to me to come over as there was a problem, the cm specifically said that we couldn't use the child's credit for the adult entree - it could only be used on the child's breakfast platter - like I said previously, it could just depend on the cm.

These are great! :thumbsup2 I'll put a link to this post under the "Captain Cook's" heading in Post 1 :)

Thanks, glad I could help! I'm supposed to swing through the Poly tomorrow for EMH at the Magic Kingdom. Hopefully I can get some more photos.

MsStinkerBelle,

Do you know/remember if you can get a latte with non-fat milk instead of whole milk? And can it be an iced latte? (worried about what we're going to do with no Starbucks for 10 days...:sad2: ) It's too hot in FL for us to get anything hot to drink!

I know you can get it with non-fat milk for sure. As for an iced latte...I want to say they do have them but I'm not 100% sure. I'll double-check when I'm at the Poly tomorrow. And trust me, that Starbucks withdrawal is :scared:

Did you know there's another "real" coffee stration at the TTC? `I don't know how long it's been there but that one came in handy too .

I saw that coffee stand but I wasn't sure it was "real" coffee. From one coffee addict to another, I am beyond grateful for the tip! :worship:

I'm in Louisiana! I did call WDW, and we have until we are supposed to leave to cancel, with only a small cancellation fee.

That is great the cancellation fee would be small. Stay safe, okay?

That really sucks...cosidering I'm sure a waffle costs a heck of a lot more for them to make than a bkfst platter with eggs, meats, etc. Well here's hoping I get lucky and get nice CM's b/c my girls LOVE waffles.

I would not have been happy with any CM who tells me I cannot use an adult CS credit for my child,

They are our credits to use as we see fit.... not for them to tell us we can only use 2 at a time... if we want to use 6 in one go, that is our prerogative, or has someone changed the rules recently?

I hear ya.....but I THINK what happened is that they know by the program that they had 2 adults and 1 child and tried to use all 3 credits (including the child) to buy an adult meal. The plan clearly states that you must order from the kids menu.
NOW I've never been to Disney using the dining plan so I do not know the ins and out but I am suppose they could have just used 3 adult credits and at the end they'd have ended up with one less adult credit and one extra kids credit? Not sure on that....

It's not that they would not allow us to use as many credits as we wanted, it's how we used them. We are 2 adults w/2 children - our order was for 1 Tonga toast, 1 adult breakfast platter, and 2 mickey waffles - they only allowed us to use 2 adult credits since the mickey waffles were not "child credits" they specifically have a "child's breakfast platter" which she told us was the only thing that would count as a child's credit.

We leave in a little over 2 weeks and I am sooo excited! Thanks to everyone on this thread for all the great tips and info. The one thing I haven't been able to find yet (though it doesn't mean it's not here!) is the Poly address to use if you want to have something delivered to the resort.

Can someone post that please? I want to have one of those fruity edible arrangements delivered for our anniversary! Thanks!

Well just wanted to say hi and that this has been one of my favorite threads. I don't post often but I lurk quite a bit. We will be heading for the Poly in 9 more days. We will be staying for 13 days in a garden view room. Can't say enough about the Poly. It is by far, my favorite resort. This will be our second stay there. We stayed for 9 days last Sept. and my DH and I have found our home. We knew we were home from the moment we walked into the lobby. You see, my DH and I fell in love many years ago at a resort with a Tahitian atmosphere. Romance among the palms you might say. Anyhow, I have learned quite a few things just reading all the posts. Absolutely love all the pictures too.:thumbsup2 Just wanted to say thank you to everyone of you for all the advise I've gleaned by just lurking. Would absolutely love to stay in July for a few days for DH and I's 15th wedding anniversary. Wonder if we could book concierge level on an airline discount? Anybody know? It really is a nice perk. The only way I could even possibly stay at the Poly. Sure would love to stay club level lagoon view just once. Only 9 more days till I can sit and enjoy my Lapu Lapu by the lagoon---pure heaven! I thought about asking for a certain longhouse but I decided to throw caution to the wind and let fate decide where we get placed. I'm just gonna be glad to be there. Once again, thanks to all of you for such a wonderful thread!:flower3:

Have a Great Trip. Enjoy a Lapu Lapu for me:goodvibes .

This thread is making me want to go so bad! I just wish it wasn't so expensive, although I realize that it's worth it. Maybe i'll get a chance to stay there next year while doing the College Program! I think that I can get good discounts on the program. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed!

HI Everyone!!!
It's very late (or early???). We just got back from one week at the POLY - club level. Amazing!!!! We were in the Hawaii building. I don't even know where to start.....the CMs in our building were awesome! Actually, we booked lagoon view for next August!!!
We had a few meals at Kona. Very good. Breakfast at Ohana's. Great character interaction. Did the Spirit of Aloha show....eh....I could take it or leave it. It was very hot at the 5:15. I would definitely recommend the later show when the temps are hot.
We got lucky weather wise....thank goodness. It was raining a lot today, the day we were leaving. We got caught in MK in a downpour, trying to get back to the resort. Resort monorail was not running. Of course, our clothes was soaked and our bags were already checked. But once again, the concierge staff took such good care of us once we got there. All was fine as soon as we were sitting in the club!!
We did not get to see Michael Phelps. We were in MK that day (night). We were shocked to hear he had been there.
Oh, this was our first time using Magical Express. It was good.
Anyway, thanks again for this great thread. Now I can offer some advice, too, and answer any questions you have - or at least try. LOL....
I'm going to go back and read some old posts from here, since I now know exactly what everyone is talking about.
The POLY is a great place!!!! Club level is so great! It's a totally amazing experience.

Jackdis great to see you again, and really glad you had a great time.

Ooooh I am soooo excited, this time in 4 weeks I will be in my poly bed for my first night.....cannot wait.

Wow, we lucked out then!! We ordered 3 Mickey Waffle platters and only had 2 adults on the plan. I found that many CM's were nice about working with you. We were at Pizzafari in AK and my kids wanted the personal pizza (not the kids thing). I asked the cashier and she let me do it but told me I couldn't get them dessert (which they would be entitled to on the DDP). That was fine with me! And it ended up being my one son's favorite meal!:wizard:

So was the Luau that bad? My husband and kids are so looking forward to it - I really would rather save the money and not do it. Part of me wants to put my foot down and say we aren't going - but then the childish part of me wants to go so I can say "I told you so" when they don't like it!!! :rotfl2: I'm so bad.

I'm glad the weather was good for you. I've been thinking about everyone in Disney the past few days hoping the storm wasn't making it less than magical.

It wasn't terrible. I thought the story line was a little weak. Have you been to a luau before? We have, so maybe that's why I thought it was so-so. The food was ok. Chicken and ribs. Very plentiful. Again, just so-so quality.

For us it was two credits on DDP per person. Same as breakfast in CInderella Castle, which included a photo. The photo at the luau was $30, in addition to the cost/credits.

If you are going in hot weather, definitely consider the later show. It was entertaining, just maybe a little too long.

I also found that the CMs at Captain Cook's were helpful. One day they rearranged what I had ordered so I would only use one snack credit instead of two. (Fries can be a side with meals. You have to ask.)

I laughed because in addition to club level, I felt like I couldn't possibly use all the credits from the DDP and here she was saving me another credit!! LOL...

Thanks. I was so worried about this with the hurricanes. The day we got there (8/23) it was raining. It was the tail end of Fay. But it had stopped by later in the day and then it was beautiful the entire week, except for a few showers some afternoons.
