I thought Captain Cook's was great! I had the Tonga Toast there one day for breakfast, and I think a chicken Salad wrap sandwich our first day for lunch. My son loved the burger-- no complaints from anyone!

I love Capt Cook's. The flatbread pizza is a real favorite of mine. I eat a couple of those every trip and can't wait to return for another! :) I've also had the turkey club & pork sandwich which were good and the Polynesian & Caesar salads. I have heard that the grilled cheese is very good but have never tried it. I especially like the hearty breads they use. I did not care for the stirred fried noodles.

Just came back from the Poly on Monday, had a great time (even though it rained half the time we were there) We were in Rapa Nui - which was good and bad. The good was that it was so close to the TTC, literally we walked out of the longhouse and walked onto the path and into the TTC, we went to the MK 4 times, and it was so easy and fast. We never once used the monorail stop at the GCH. We rented a car and the parking lot was right there and had no cars in it, was good because it did rain so much that dh would run out to the car and we would stand under the canopy of the longhouse and dh would drive up to the curb and we would get in. The cons - long walk to the pools and the food court. We felt like we were out of the loop, and far away from everyone else - DH likes to get coffee every night and it was a long walk to Capt. Cook's in the rain. Hope it's OK if I post some pics

Kona Cafe - wow was this GOOD!!!! Great meal, everything was delicious, tried to get another reservation for later on in the week, was BOOKED SOLID

We ate breakfast twice at Captain Cook's and it was good. The bacon, egg & cheese crossaint was delicious! Kona breakfast was wonderful-esp. the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes. They are worth the trip! We also loved Ohana breakfast and dinner.

All of the food options was one of the many great things about the Poly!!!

I see a lot of complaints about the food at Captain Cook's. Does anyone like the food at the Polynesian? :confused3

We really like Captain Cooks, 'Ohana, and Kona's. We didn't like the luau for the food or show though.

We stayed at the Poly July 26 -August 1. We ate lunch three times at Captain Cooks. I loved the Polynesian tossed salad and the Grown-up Grilled Cheese, both of which had blue cheese. I also had the club which I enjoyed. My parents both had the cheeseburger and liked that. I also liked the Polynesian chips that come with the meals. I especially like the sweet potato chip. And of course, the Dole Whips are delicious. I read the reviews of Captain Cooks and was worried too, but I was very happy with it. :thumbsup2

kimisabella,
Great pictures!!! That dessert looked great, my kids would love it. Could you tell me more about the boat you rented? How long did you have it and how much was it? Also, did it have a little speed (thinking of my DH;) )?

Thank you!!

p.s. Your girls are adorable...love the matching outfits w/ their crocs!!

Thanks - I have plenty more, I took about 400 pics myself and who knows how many on the photopass card!! We rented the 17' boston whaler at the marina at the Poly it is $45/half hour, it doesn't go that fast, I'm sure they put some kind of device on it so it only goes a certain speed. It actually looked like the little Searayer boats were going faster than we were. We rode past the GF, the CR, the wedding pavillon and the front of the MK - it was a really nice time.

I always try to dress my dd's alike, they like it, and I think it looks cute in the pictures

Have fun!

Andrea...LOVE the pix! Thanks for sharing! I have to ask what that dessert was at Kona! OMG it looks sooo fun! Is that something special for a bday or special occassion or is it on the menu! My girls would FLIP if something like that came out!!!

Is there anything at Capt Cooks that you can grab for bkfst by using just a snack credit? (Muffins/danish, etc) I hate to waste a CS credit on a $4.99 order of Tonga Toast! LOL

IE is there anything else on the menu that what I see on AllEars?

Did you by any chance eat breakfast there? If so, how was it and what would you suggest?

Going in Nov. and pretty nervous about the breakfast there. After staying at the Riverside, whose quick service was awesome, we're afraid we're going to be let down. We're planning on eating all our B-fast there for 8 days.

Any honest opinions?

HI!

We would love to rent a boat while we are there. Was that a pontoon boat? that is what we were thinking of. How did it go? How long did you rent it for? Thanks for all the help!

Down to 15 days!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!! I love taking scenery photos...especially sunrise & sunset photos. I am also "directionally challenged" (and has been a few years since we've stayed at the Poly). Photos from the beach; overlooking the lake ... would I get sunrise OR sunset ... or neither?

both!!

Sunrise, from over by the contemporary, sunset over GF..... stunning.

4. How late is the volcano pool open at night?

Our first trip coming up too! Down to 3 days now!!! Just placed our Garden Grocer order last night, it's almost time !!

As for the Volcano Pool, I've read it's open 24 hrs, except for when they're cleaning it. The lifeguards however leave at 10 pm. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a question about the Club Level Itineary Office (yes I probably butchered that spelling- ha). I am not going until Thankgiving Week 09 so how soon should I call them. I booked my trip online through the disney website and I have READ somewhere on these boards that they may not have my house or email address??

First of all congrats on the weight loss! I have lost 72 pounds in little over a year- wasn't a easy task, I love food:rotfl: :rotfl:
I notice you are from Cleveland- l live in Buffalo so we are practically neighbors. Don't worry you do have company around here with the waiting game. My poly trip is so far away as well:flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Thanks lustergirl;) . Weight loss is the hardest thing that I have ever done in my life. Congrats on your loss. We love Buffalo, hugh Sabers fan. We use to go every year to see a game and go to Anchor bar for wings, yummy:banana:
We are planning on doing it this year, it will be my DH first time.
The waiting sucks big time, but I would rather be waiting then driving home from my vacation:rotfl:

Anchor Bar- wow! Have you ever tried La Nova Wings? I am prejudiced though because my cousin owns this place. Anchor Bar is the originator of Wings though. I will take the wait as well for my trip- can plan obsessively still:rotfl: :rotfl:

This is why we are so fat here in Buffalo- because all of the good food!!
