Hi everyone!

If you don't know me, hi, I'm CE. My family and I just returned yesterday (8/25) from 5 nights, 6 days in the World. It was our second year in a row, something I hadn't planned, but there are reasons - good ones - which will be forthcoming.

I would expect a lot of my readers to be my dear friends from the DIS, but if you haven't "met" me yet, let me give the intros:

Me: I'm CE (my initials, I have a very unique first name that makes me a little too "googleable" as far as personal info...) I'm 36, a SAHM, grew up in Illinois, but live in NH now. I love to read, DIS, and just started playing tennis!

D: My DH, also 36. He's a corporate pilot, so no set schedule, but gets to travel all over the world and loves his job. D also grew up in IL. We met in college. :goodvibes

Woody: Our DS, age 6. He is a twin. He is very "Woody" like in that he very much feels that he is in charge and that everyone should follow his rules. He can be very sweet or very not, depending on his mood. I call him the melodramatic one.

Buzz: Woody's twin, a much more mellow fellow. He goes with the flow, but is a little more timid than Woody, in both social situations and also for rides, sports, etc. It's too bad, because they are NOT identical twins and he is about 2 inches taller than Woody. So, he can do all the thrill rides, but has no interest. Poor Woody wants to do them, but can't quite make it yet. ;)

Here we are in April:

That's me, Buzz, Woody, then D.

The trip vitals: AKL, savannah view bunk beds, from 8/20 to 8/25. Basic MYW tix with the DDP added on. We had done DDP last year, and even with the changes it made sense for us. We like a lot of buffets and character meals, so it pays off. :thumbsup2

Next up, a brief pretrip recap!

MEL:banana:

So, why did we head for Florida in August, when I had no intention of heading back until roughly February 2009???

It's all Jo's (DisneyJo, that is) fault. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

There's a great group of DISers out there who call themselves the Fockers? Why? They decided that a great way to recognize another DISer in the parks would be to use the "I'm watching you, Focker" look that Robert DeNiro does in Meet the Parents.

I started writing last year's trip report, and DisneyJo came to read. Then, the others followed her to my TR. Then several of the group met up with Jo at the now infamous Lapu Meet at the Poly last August. :thumbsup2

I read along with their TRs and wished I could meet these fabulous ladies in person. :goodvibes They started planning a return trip for August 2008 and
I started thinking about joining them. Jo, who's from England, was returning, so another big meet was planned.

I mentioned to D that I would kind of like to fly down by myself for the weekend of the meet, just to see them. I wasn't sure we wanted to do another big trip, but I hated to miss it.

D said, "Are the others bringing their families?" When I said yes, he said, (and please remember this very important point - HE SAID :rotfl: ) "Why don't we all go?"

:cool1:

D had so loved the AKL savannah view last year that he said, and this is a direct quote, "We're never staying anywhere else." So I booked a room, and there we were. I got pretty good flights on Southwest around May, and we were set to go!

The group did a big, communal Pre-trip report, which can be found here.

There was a bit of drama for me, personally, just before we left. My grandfather, who's been living with inoperable lung cancer for 4ish years, was also suddenly diagnosed with colon cancer. :guilty: We were supposed to leave Wed., Aug. 20th, but Grandpa was now scheduled for necessary but very risky surgery on the 18th. He pulled through yet again, so we were feeling good to go. But then there was Tropical Storm Fay... :rolleyes1

Stay tuned!

Me and my dd were at Wilderness Lodge 8/16 - 8/22 so I'm sure we bumped shoulders in the rain somewhere. Had to laugh at your trip report title because we rode Pooh lots and lots of times (no lines :) on some of those rainy days and that song just stuck in my mind. We sang that line over and over again all week! Can't wait to read your report!

I'm here too, CE!!!! Can't wait to read all about your trip!

Hi, and welcome! :yay: I thought it was an appropriate title! :lmao:

Dang it......Rosie beat me! That's why she's our Computer whiz!

Looking forward to the ride, CE! :thumbsup2
