Florida and gulf folks, you ready for Gustav ?

Nah, it's not going to be much more than our normal afternoon thunderstorms.

Of course, I am keeping an eye on that "disturbance" over in the Atlantic. When things develop way out there, it's rarely good news.

I know it's still early, but geesh, you call this a storm? :confused3

Shh! Don't jinx it by saying it's not a big deal!

It could still cause tornadoes! :scared1:

Plus, if I keep making it a big deal, maybe they'll let me leave work early! :woohoo:

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:
Couldn't agree more, I keep thinking that all those "storms" we had in Calif were really more hurricane'ish then they let on and they never closed schools or went into a tizzy like they are doing here! And try going thru Santa Ana winds for weeks at a time
I will however, head to Publix and get more "supplies" (darn you Mike and your Cheetos) :cool1: and wait to put the patio back together.
Just keep reminding me not to be one of those complacent peeps....:confused3 yanno the one who says..... it aint gonna happen to me

just me

:surfweb:

It is still early, I would wait till late afternoon to breathe a sigh of relief!

Now what time does cocktail hour start?

OrlandoMom, we ate at Bonefish last night, at the Loop, awsome meal!

I have a clock on my linai, and the batteries died at 5:10 a few days ago!

So start pouring! :rotfl2:

The batteries died, or you took them out and set it to 5:10?

That's what I'd have done. :thumbsup2

I have a Palm Frond down!

Hmm. If I wasn't at work, I'd suggest turning that into a drinking game.

Drink every time a palm frond falls. Two drinks for branches, three for knocked over patio furniture . . .

What do I drink if another branch from my stupid neighbor's tree falls through my roof (AGAIN!).

Glad to hear you folks are all doing OK. My boys and I left for home the day before Charley hit and I felt SO awful for the lady who drove us to the airport. She was on the phone trying to get her elderly dad to come and stay with her (I think he was from around Panama City somewhere -- well quite a bit north of Tampa anyway) because "hurricanes NEVER come as far inland as Orlando". She would have been tons better off to have gone north and stay with him...

Woo Hoo! Four fronds down, a tipped over trash can, and a flower pot that blew over!

It's party time in Kissimmee! :cool1:
