Do you need a suit jacket for dining in Palo? Leaving tomorrow for P.c. packing today but wasn't sure about this.

No, you do not need one. A tie will suffice, and I'll bet you can probably just wear a nice dress shirt, sans tie, and get in.

No and you dont really need a tie.

We have been 2 times and Dh is very uncomfortable in a tie, and both times he wore a cubavera (sp) type shirt.

DH wore a Cubavera brand shirt to Palo for our VR..but it was in the private room and we were on the Wonder..where jackets and ties are suggested but not required..at least this is what the Wonder manager Marco told us

I understand that Palo on the Magic is just a little more dress code strict

We have been to 4 Palo meals on the Magic (2 dinner, 2 brunch) and DH has not worn a jacket. Nice slacks, silk-type short sleeve shirt with no tie.

Yes it was definitley a Cubavera and we were on the Magic.

We dont try to break rules, but there is no way he could have worn a tie and be happy eating.

They did not say anything about his lack of tie.

I always wear a sport coat and tie but have seen others without.Last cruise (May08) we saw them tell 2 people coats were required but both men were wearing shorts and polo type shirts

Is the dress code more relaxed for brunch? I'm wondering if he needs a jacket or tie for brunch?

You do not need a jacket or tie for dinner at Palo's. Khaki pants and a polo shirt are fine for brunch. Just no shorts.

We did see two men without coats turned away until they came back with coats - we were happy to see.

From the DCL website:

Palo
...
"At dinner, dress shirt or jacket are required for men; a dress or pantsuit for women. No jeans allowed. At brunch and high tea attire is "cruise casual" — no shorts, jeans, swimwear or tank tops."

Best wishes!

DH had no problems in slacks & a polo shirt on the Wonder a few weeks ago. We didn't see anyone in a tie, and only a handful of the men were wearing jackets/sport coats.

I would've been outraged if they had turned me away. I've never seen Disney literature specifying that jackets are necessary, and I had no problem getting in without one. Such stuffiness and snobbery has no place on a Disney ship, as far as I'm concerned. Most of the men were wearing jackets, but certainly not all.

i see this thread going down very quickly..

I will say that from what I understand from the WONDER PALO MANAGER, jackets and ties are preferred but not required..Polo type shirts are not advised.

The Wonder also seems to be a bit more casual then I remember the Magic in 2006..many more people wearing dress shirts, no jackets or ties and dockers on the Wonder

I was wearing a wedding dress..so I was the most dressed up in the place!! LOL

I would guess the people turned away were not wearing dress shirts -- with a casual shirt you need a jacket. With a dress shirt you're fine.
