Free internet access question

Can somebody confirm that there is free internet access at OKW (and DVC in general). I know there have been a million posts about this, but I tune it out until I really need this info (DH is asking me and we leave Sat )...

Anyways, is it really free now and do we need anything to connect other than the PC itself?

Yes, it's been free since May for members on points stays.

It's true... no charges showed up for me at BCV this week. You do have to go through and accept their terms and conditions on that opening webpage and if you didn't read it, you might think you were going to get charged, but you don't.

It is free, but be sure to verify the charges on your room bill before you leave. We were there for six days in July and we were charged for internet on one day (during the middle of our stay too????). They easily removed the charge so it was no real problem.

It is free only to DVC members. The room cards state if you are a DVC member, but I am not sure if it will state "DVC Member" if you are renting. Anyone?

I will be staying on my uncle's points. I am not renting them, he is simply "gifting" me the trip. That is why I ask.

The reservations will be made with the actual names of those who are staying in the room so your uncle's name will not be on the room reservation. Because the member is not staying there, I am not sure if they will give the free internet to others staying on another persons points. Maybe someone else who has been in this situation can give their experience.

Along the same lines...we're going down for 7 nights (SSR). One night in the middle of the trip was not available for DVC, so we booked it as a cash reservation. All three ressies are linked, but I wonder if a charge for 1 day of internet access will show up, since we are paying cash that one night. Anybody know?

And from what I recall, it was wired and there is a cable hanging in one of the closets that you can use to tie into the network.

The service is wired. Cables are provided. For the 1 BR and 2 BR villas, they are in a bag hanging in the front closet.
