Air show at the Air Force base this weekend, the Thunderbirds are part of the act. I have heard the ripping sound of the F-16's over the house all afternoon. Should be a good show!

I do like them air-shows. I remember the first time we saw a stealth bomber at a show,,couldn't get close to it for the armed guards. But it was still pretty cool !:thumbsup2

We are doing a county fair this week-end. This county fair is much better than the state fair in Tn.:thumbsup2

When I lived in Annapolis, we used to watch the Blue Angels practice. They'd fly so low to the ground that you see how many cavities the pilot had! Ok, not really....but they did get awful low and would shake the whole house when they zoomed by. They are pretty impressive.

You should hear the ripping sound when they let loose with their ordnance - truly impressive unless you are on the receiving end then it may be the last thing you ever hear! I love pilots especially naval aviators - they've saved my butt a few times!

Have fun, air shows are great - if you see any C-130s go in and look around. I was up in those about 100 times before I ever landed in one! :thumbsup2

Why would you ever want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane?? :scared1:

MY best friend's DH was stationed on Eglin Air Base for a few years. When we went down for a visit, the planes were flying overhead, and we started talking about how loud they are. She commented about it was loudest after they had passed you. She also said that she had asked her DH about it, and he had said that it's because they don't hit their loud button until after they've passed.

She thought that was really cool and wanted to share the information about the loud button with us. :rolleyes1

Her DH started laughing, and she was like "What?". :rotfl:

I love her to death, but sometimes she just worries me. :)

My thoughts exactly! :lmao:

Aren't we all? :rotfl:

OK, so most of us ARE south of Omaha.

Al, got a pic of the C130, let me get them downloaded and I'll see if I can post it.

Saw most of the Thunderbirds, but a refuler was parked right where the 4-plane cross-over happened and I missed it! Aauuugggghhh! It's a new digital cam and I haven't fully mastered it yet. The sunshine made it hard to see the frame and I didn't get any others to come out too well.

At least it wasn't 95 degrees like the last one was. Enjoyed it all. :cool2:

Some pics of the air show yesterday. This one's for Al

I'll tell my daughter that the majority opinion is that I am NOT round (yet). For some reason, though, I doubt that will stop the nickname, r the grin tht comes with it.
