The "I've Waited Forever to Go Solo" Mom's Leaving Everyone Behind Trip! Updt 3/11

I would be hiding out, too! :scared: I may be borrowing your ideas from the party though -- too cute -- especially the human board game!

Disney books are always so much fun to receive. Can't wait to hear how the treasure hunts go while you are there!

look the birthday party plans... cool game..

I saw Rick in concert when my oldest was a baby at our local festival, I went with all my new mom friends and our babies it was soo funny!

I can't believe your trip is only 3 weeks away!!!

I'll be sure to let you know how the books are post trip and steal away on the ideas! They really were fun!

Another Rick fan! Yeah!

I'm just in the mood to peruse food! Don't you just love looking at the menus over on allears? I do!

Friday night I'm at Kona, oh I can't wait! I'm thinking of starting with sticky wings because I've heard good things about them but truth be told the Shrimp and Coconut Curry Soup intrigues me as well. I love a good soup!
For an entree should it be Filet Mignon or Beef Teriyaki? Decisions, decisions. And then the all important dessert. The Kona Cone looks so fun but I don't know that I actually want it when Banana Chocolate Creme Brulee is an option. I LOVE Creme Brulee! But what about the Kilauea Torte? What is it? It certainly sounds good! I am most looking forward to this meal I think!

Saturday I'll be at Tusker House and being a breakfast buffet I'm sure I'll just have the usual suspects, little pancake, little fruit, little sausage, you know the drill. For lunch that day I want to try the Yak and Yeti CS. I debated the TS but I just don't know that I want another sit down. So from the CS I think I like the looks of either Shrimp Lo Mein or Crispy Honey Chicken and a Mango Mini Pie! Yum!

That night it will be the Cape May Buffet and I'm sure there will be plenty 'o things to try. Especially those Oreo Bon Bons!

Mmmmmm Mmmmmmmm! More food talk for the rest of the trip to come!

Three weeks from this moment I could very well be on a Disney Bus on my way to the first park of my trip!!!!

One of my favorite things to do when planning Disney trips is to look at the menus!!! I do love dreaming about Disney food!!! :goodvibes

The Kilauea Torte is what we had at Kona for dessert -- it's like this chocolate volcano looking cake creation with chocolate syrup inside -- very yummy!

Amazon also brought me this:

Big Dreamy Sigh! Venus in Overdrive, Rick Springfield's brandy new just came out on Tuesday CD. Oh the booklet with the CD is so great, so many wonderful pictures! AHHHHH! I listened this afternoon and love it already. The first song is called "What's Victoria's Secret", tell me, is that not a clever title? Trust me, it's worth a listen.:thumbsup2

See you soon!

Another Rick fan here Allyson. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I love perusing the menus. In fact that's what I did on my lunch break today! :thumbsup2 So many choices. Of course it took me forever to decide what to make for dinner tonight but if you're interested in what I'll be dining on, on Thursday, October 23rd, just let me know! :rotfl:

Sounds like the b-day party was a big success. Very creative with the activities. The human board game sounds like a blast!

3 weeks from this moment you're on a WDW bus... too cool! :cool1:

I look at the menus every week! I have even printed out the ones for all of our ADR restaurants to keep in my Disney binder. :goodvibes

I would have to recommend the beef teriyaki at Kona...that's what my DH had and it was simply divine! And yes, that Kona cone looked wonderful (my DD had one last time) but I had the creme brulee, and it was just delicious!! :lovestruc

I'm so excited for you - it won't be long now!! :yay: :yay:

I think I have seen pics of it now that you describe it. I love chocolate. Oh this is going to be a tough decision!

mmmmmmm
now I'm hungry too!
off to cook dinner. :lmao:
Reading those menus does make me hungry too!

Ahhhhh, another one! That is great, I had no idea that there were so many other Rick fans on the DIS! I love it!

Isn't that so so true, that you can know your menu months from now but tomorrow or tonight, forget about it! LOL! It is a sickness I think!

I love looking at the menus too!
It is a great pasttime!

And not much longer for you either! Thanks for the recommendations! I think it is going to be a wonderful meal!

Looking at menus is one of my favorite trip planning things.
Mmmmm, mmmmm! Yes it is so much fun to look through and figure out what you'd get. And I swear everything tastes better in Disney!

So Sunday morning of my trip I have the KTTK tour. I CAN'T wait for this! I'm really, really looking forward to it. Lunch is included at Columbia Harbor House. We ate there in March and enjoyed it. The salad we had appears to be gone off the menu now. That is too bad as it was very, very good. Looking at the menu now I think I'll go with the Anchors Aweigh tuna sandwich or maybe the Garden Harvest Salad.

That afternoon I'll be taking a break at Pop and hitting Petals to meet some other DISers who so kindly invited me to stop by their meet. Hi Fockers! :drinking1

Then it is over to DHS. I have the ADR for Mama Melrose still. I guess I'll have to make a decision soon on this. If I keep it, looking at the menu the Mozzarella and Tomatoes looks good as a starter. For an entree perhaps the Wood Grilled Chicken tossed with Pipette pasta. Warm chocolate truffle cake? Sign me up!

But I think I'll most likely try to eat at the Tune In Lounge. If I can I think I'll go with the Fried Chicken and the S'mores. :woohoo:

After Fantasmic I am going to hit evening EMH at MK. I've never done an evening EMH before but being alone I figured I would try. I would love to stay till close but I don't know if I'll be able to make it that late! We'll see I guess.

I was at Old Navy yesterday. Belle was spending a gift card and I picked up a few polo shirts for Goofy for school. I also bought a shirt for me. I thought it would be nice in the Florida heat for my trip and I just found it to be really cute. I can't find it on the ON website but it is a white tank in a sort of gauzy fabric, almost a crochet look around the top and on the straps, elastic under the bustline and then sort of flowy. Can you picture it? Probably not very well from my description! LOL! You'll see pics once I do my TR I'm sure.

Off Topic: I took the kids to see Journey To The Center of the Earth yesterday. We all LOVED it! So good, so fun! As a kid the original version was one of my favorite movies and I would give this remake many thumbs up! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

19 days till I leave, we've broken into the teens!

And 3 weeks from tonight? I will have just seen Illuminations!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend! Talk to you soon!

I can't believe that you are like 2 weeks from your trip?!?! Crazy!

I can't wait to hear all about it!

I think I went with the chicken fingers when I went to CHH on my KTTK tour. But one of the guys I was eating with had the Tuna and it looked pretty good.

ETA: In case you didn't know, you pick your meal ahead of time and it's waiting for you when you get to CHH on the lunch break. Just didn't want you to think you had up until you got to lunch to decide, I know I was kind of thrown by it at first.

Then it is over to DHS. I have the ADR for Mama Melrose still. I guess I'll have to make a decision soon on this. My first dinner at Mama Melrose was OK, enough so that I tried it again, but my 2nd time was very underwhelming. Nothing BAD about it per say, but I don't think I'll be eating there again. My vote is for the Tune In Lounge.

WOW 19 days!!:cool1: Thanks for telling me about Journey to the center of the Earth, my boys want to see it, so I'm glad you think it's good!! I had the wood grilled chicken at Mama's and it was AWESOME!! I can't believe they got rid of that salad at CHH, I LOVED it!!:sad2:

Hi Allyson, I haven't posted in a while but I have been reading along. Don't you love the "3 weeks from today I'll be ...." game? Wow your Sunday will be busy but sounds like fun. I haven't looked at the menu for the Tune In Lounge because we don't sit there so I don't know if they offer everything the restaurant does but the pot roast is soooooooo good. That is one meal that is planned way before we go. Pretty much as I am rolling away from the table I am planning on getting it the next time. :lmao:

Glad Goofy and Belle had good birthdays. (Told you I haven't posted in a while) We did a giant board game for one of Ethan's birthdays (10 I think) and it was a lot of fun.

We are leaving for a Williamsburg, VA vacation on the 8th and returning the 17th and then taking Kalyn back to college on the 22nd so I probably won't post again before you go. :wizard: So have a very magical trip and I look forward to hearing about it on your TR. :wizard:
