We took this trip to celebrate our daughter's 8th b-day. Had a GREAT time!

I can not say enough great things about the staff in the club lounge...or really, the entire hotel! Everyone was great!

Positives
1. Our view was unbeatable. Sixth floor, theme park and pool view!

2. Upon check-in, they gave us an option of this room or a king suite, but it was in a different tower with no view. So we chose the one with the view and in the same tower as the club lounge.

3. On the morning of her b-day, in the club lounge, I asked if they knew where I could find her a little button saying, "It's my b-day". While eating breakfast, I could hear the gentleman calling around on the phone to different places. Unfortunately, the only option was a sticker that we could pick up at guest services. He said they'd send milk and cookies up for her later. I thanked him and thought that was a fabulous gesture. Then 15 minutes later, when we're getting ready to go to the pool there is a knock at the door. He brought down a gift basket full of treats! I mean FULL! If I knew how to post a picture on here, I would post it. I was stunned and so was DD (who was also thrilled!). Only problem is, I don't know his name, so I can't thank him directly.

4. FOTL...love this, it's as great as it's always been! Less than a 5 minute wait for almost everything, while the lines for others were reading anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes.

Negatives
1. We left IOA Sunday to go back to the pool and swim, sometime around 3:00-3:30. Only to find them clearing the pool. Apparently, a child had an accident (parents, please put swim diapers on your children, you ruined everyone's day because of your selfishness/ignorance). They said it would be open in an hour. Fine...no problem, we'll go to the room relax for a while. Then, around 4:30, we find out that they put too many chemicals in the pool, it would be closed for the rest of the night. Ugh. :headache: They said we could use the pools at the other resorts, but that's too much trouble, IMO. Plus, we were planning to go to the Club lounge and then out to dinner with my in-laws later that evening.

But, we thought, "no big deal, we'll just go tomorrow morning" (check out day). Well, we get up and look out our window to see that no one is at the pool. I call down and they tell me it will definitely be open at 9:00. So we go and eat breakfast, come back and notice that there is still no one at the pool. I call down again and then I am told 10:00, absolutely by 10:00! I ask for a late check-out (gave me 12:30). 10:00 comes and goes and it still isn't open. I call back and they say it won't open until noon. So we gave up, took our showers, packed up and went over to City Walk to eat lunch with our family.

2. Being on a different level as the club is a bit of a pain. Especially where our room was located. The walk was fairly long and not convenient like when we stayed at HRH. I thought booking club would give us a room on the 7th floor, but that wasn't the case.

Nevertheless, I want to write a letter expressing my gratitude and praise regarding the staff in the club lounge, does anyone know who I send it too?

same thing happened to me at the disney resort.
no proper attire for the child and an oops happened.

the mom wasn't a bit embarrassed. she just laughed it off.

email is gm's first initial and last name then @loewshotels.com

i am so tired, i can not think of the gm's name right now.
if you wanted the pbh or hrh gm, that i do remember but you want the gm at rph.

i suggest the gm as his assistants will be the ones that would help review comments of the guests.

usually at rph, you receive an email with a survey about a week after you check out of the hotel.
at least i did when i stayed there year before last.

i'm sure one of the homies will list the gm's name for you here.

Sounds like there were some nice highlights to your trip. The pool part is a bummer (haha). We had the same thing happen to us at HRH, twice. It was pretty disgusting. They actually give out swim diapers for free but I guess it isn't only the infants spoiling the pool.

Then, around 4:30, we find out that they put too many chemicals in the pool, it would be closed for the rest of the night. Ugh. :headache:

This happened last year at Portofino's Villa Pool and it resulted in the pool being closed for the night and part of the morning. The most frustrating part about it was the lack of communication with guests and other Portofino staff.
