ok...home sweet home:goodvibes

I just made my last post on the "old thread".

How is your Mom doing?

She is almost back to square one again......The prednisone/cortisone was really giving her some movement back and now that she can never take that again the docs are trying to figure out what the next step should be.
Thank you so much for asking.......

How were the storms by you last night? They were horrible in Bergen County. Seems like we are in for another round, I here some thunder rumbling.

They were pretty horrible here. Lightening every few seconds...the sky was constantly lit up. The power also went out but luckily only for a few minutes. I never remember it being so bad.

We had a storm here earlier today too. It looked nice out and then all of a sudden the sky turned black. That lasted about an hour or two.

Nancy had a bad storm in CT last night too.

Glad your Mom is doing better.

Ann, Are you surviving your weather today?

It is incredible. At least we do not have to water the grass for a while.
We are having a lazy day, we are all in jammies and have watched disney movies all day! It actually has made for a nice family day. Thanks for asking.

Hi all! I found our new home. We had the typical mall food for lunch. Mr A wants semi home cooking for dinner. We stopped at Trader's joe for somethings. Some of my fav they were out of so I guess I be going back again soon. They had some interesting wines but I was too tired to look much.

Have any of you seen WALL-E? What did you think. I thought it was good but lacked the WOW factor.

How frustrating.

I loved it; saw it twice in a week. It doesn't rank above Monsters Inc or Toy Story for me but pretty darn good.

We're having shark steaks on the grill, I may brush it with a teriyaki glaze while it cooks or something. Plus some veggies on the side. Maybe some rice?

The only bad thing with the new thread is that I just spent all this time reading the old thread and quoting people, but it didn't carry over to here! I hope you will forgive me for forgetting things.

Gretchen -- Your trip sounded wonderful. As for your elbow, you should get it checked out by a doctor. Until you get there though, Motrin may help ease the pain, especially if it is an inflamed nerve or tendon.

Aimee -- Good luck with VBS this week! I hope your grandfather is doing better.

Maria -- I'm glad your mom is okay, but you need a weekend without the ER!

Lindsay -- I hope Scott had a good birthday.

Kathy -- Thanks for helping us find everyone.

Liam's game got canceled again tonight due to weather. This is bad news because he already has three games scheduled this week. I don't know how they are going to fit in another one.

As usual, Beck and I made too much food for this afternoon's meal, but it was really good. We had grilled striped bass, grilled scallops and clams in a caprese mix that had heirloom tomatoes, basil, olives and grilled onions. We served it over a completely unnecessary pasta and had an arugula salad on the side.

I really liked it. I agree that it was not Shrek or Monsters Inc but cute.

I am adding prayers that the Dr can find something to ease her pain.

Well, I am so glad to find our home! We had another bad storm this afternoon but we were lucky to dodge the buckets of water that dropped out of the sky. It was loud, the lightening huge and too much rain.

Marisa grilled chicken and served it with WW couscous and salad.

Thought I'd post dinner this evening. Cabernet mushrooms, sweet potato fingers, hericot verts, rice pilaf, and sweet bourbon salmon. Although the salmon looks kinda weird. I "steamed" it with cabernet in the microwave- remember the closet kitchen on the road is pared down even more to mini fridge and microwave... but everything turned out fairly yummy. Rick didn't make the Buddy face tonight.:thumbsup2

Lori, that looks tasty!!

I bailed on dinner. I could barely walk when I got home and forgot I had to hit Target for yet MORE VBS supplies for tomorrow... so we drove through Rosa's Tex Mex for enchilada dinners on the way home from there.

Lori - I think you should be applauded for making the best of a "road" situation....job very well done my friend!!!:thumbsup2

I'm making crockpot chicken noodle soup tonight per Scott's request.

LOL, I have to admit, it still feels weird not managing the WFD thread everyday.

Scott had a great birthday. The Cheesecake Factory was awesome and we did some shopping while we were in Atlanta. Perimeter Mall had a Bare Minerals boutique so I was quite happy.

Yesterday we went to his parents. His mom had told me she was going to do a cookie cake for his birthday. Well, when someone says cookie cake, I automatically think of cookie cakes from The Great American Cookie Co. *sigh* Boy was I disappointed. She had MADE the cookie cake herself and it rather ick.

Hello! :)

topped with jumbo scallops, striped bass, and littleneck clams, over pasta:

Nobody ate the pasta.

We are having striped bass chowder for dinner tonight. I made it yesterday so all I have to do is reheat it when I get home.
