Still no call from Disney informing me that my lunch at Garden Grill on Dec 12th is being cancelled!

For people who don't read these boards will be in for a big surprise when they show up for lunch! Very cool of Disney to call patrons up and inform them of cancellations so they can book over ADR's. Won't be any spots open....

Last year we had reservations at Alfredo's and we received a letter that it will be closed. And received priority seating for Illuminations. Maybe that's what they are doing.

Ya think they would contact as soon as they started making changes.

I was told by a dining CM two days ago no more lunch at Garden Grill. You should get a call but I doubt it. When they closed Teppan Edo last year I was never called found out about it on a web site. Bummer I know. OIf it was me I would call and make another ADR.

I was just told by a friend who just talked to CM that Disney is calling people today to inform them of changes. My friend just called. There is little left for her to book. (Dec12) the eariest Dining for dinner she could get in Epcot was 7:45. She was angry that Disney hadn't informed her family earlier to give her a chance to book elsewhere and a place early enough for her kids to eat at!

Rainforest cafe food is greAT! nICE PORTIONS ETC... WE LOVE IT ! IT IS A MUST DO EVERY TRIP!

You can't be serious Your lunch is almost 5 months away and you're concerned about not getting a call yet?? I don't have anything polite to say, so I'll just shut up.

I'm wondering if they will call. My CAA TA hasn't called yet. I just figure worse comes to worse we just eat cs but considering epcot is a big place I'm sure we'll find somewhere to eat.

Since you're aware of the situation, why not make alternate ADRs now? Don't wait for others to get their calls and possibly get the ADRs you want.

My guess is that whomever is assigned to the phone calls is probably working their way through the list and simply hasn't gotten to the OP's yet.

I think it is bad business for Disney not to have called their Patrons especially way into the the 180 day mark and near Christmas! These are paying customers....Changing to Dinner often cost a family an extra $50-$100 dollars more. Peopel budget!

Obviously some people have never had to call WDW Dining and be told there is nothing available that day at the place they choose or even someplace in the same park. I have had it happen and it stinks, especially when you have kids.

I haven't gotten a call and my lunch res is in October. If I hadn't read it I'd be counting on it. The first DisDin person I spoke w/ said they were just doing away w/ the characters @ lunch! Wrong. We really wanted to eat @ GG for an early lunch and Le Cellier for dinner. We are only in Epcot 1 day so I called at 180 and got both! NOW I obviously don't have lunch at GG and don't want to give up the tough to get res at LeCell. The person saying "what are you worried about" is going to be surprised when they don't have any ADRs; it gets harder to get in the good places every year.

I just saw an advisory that they are going to start calling those with reservations!!! I would wait and see what they offer you!!!

It is sad that we pretty much need to decide 180 days in advance, but their closings provide much less warning than that...

I have an ADR for 10.20.08 and haven't received a call yet. We've decided to chow down on the Food & Wine offerings instead of booking another TS, so I don't need to call them. I"ll be pretty disappointed if I don't hear anything from Disney about it - that's just poor service!

We ate at PH last year and our whole family LOVED the food here. We also liked 'looking around" at all the memoriablia! Of course.... DD5 was not real thrilled to be seated next to the Chucky Doll (from Childs Play) but we do have nice pic of her posing (somewhat) with Chucky!

I'd love my son to sit down and then see Chucky! It would scare the hebeegebees out of him I seen one at Bangor mall. Really wanted to bring Chucky home!!!!

I think I am going to try both Planet Hollywood and Rainforest Cafe! Thanks Folks!

I got the call from WDW on 7/16 stating the last day is 10/6 and they were only doing the character dinners so now we have to look for another lunch place our reservation was for 10/9. Disney seems to be cutting down their choices for character dinning in general.

OMG! Thank you for putting the date in there! I had not heard GG was stopping lunch and we have an ADR on 9/28. Was worried we wouldn't get anything else with the free dining crowds and all.
