Another Becky With ADRs the Same Time As Me

So... I'm not gonna put my last name out there, but I just called and confirmed my ADRs and the CM asked my name and my dates of travel. She then asked me if all my ADRs were for 2 guests only. I told her yes. She then told me there was another Becky (same last name as me) who is staying roughly the same dates as me with ADRs also. That's all she said... I thought it was weird... I mean my last name is kinda common, but how ironic.

That is weird. I wonder if you'll run into each other at all?

I think that's a good example though of the danger of the cancellation of 'apparent' double bookings by Disney CM's. :scared1:

It would be funny to run into another Becky...

OMG! I'm worried about that now! (The cancellation.)

Just hold tight to your confirmation numbers, I'd be afraid of that too.

Your example is exactly why I don't believe that it's an official Disney policy/practice to do this. However, I DO believe that individual CM's who are frustrated with the appearance of double bookings may 'accidentally' cancel a reservation (or several) when they see things like this.

I really hope that NOTHING like this happens to you.

Hopefully the CMs will be smart enough to check phone #s and/or reservations to make sure it is the same person before cancelling any ADRs. :rolleyes1

Welcome to my world! :rotfl: My full name is so common, I run into this all the time. There are even two of us at the same company. How's that?! In college, there were 8 of me enrolled at the same time!!

At least we have a very uncommon Norwegian last name (well here, not in Norway!). Add my first name which is Spanish and I highly doubt I'll find anyone with my name at Disney at the same time!

Someone vacationing in December has their ADRs booked under my phone number. *sigh* The CM I talked to said there was nothing they could/would do about it. The whole double booking thing really worries me because of errors on their end. Circumstances might dictate that we move our DS and mom trip to early December and then WTH is going to happen?!?

My maiden name is extremely common. I am so used to running into issues with it, including being chased for years by the Dept. of Education for defaulting on a student loan that clearly wasn't mine ... I married a man with another common surname so I hyphenated just to avoid that stuff.

My last name is extremely uncommon... we live in Jacksonville - a fairly decent sized city and we are the only ones in the phonebook with our last name other than my FIL who has the exact same name as my hubby. The downside is that I have to spell it to EVERYONE

I had a similar problem. When we got to our resort last year, we asked for a printout of our ADR's.

My DH's name is not George and we do not live in PA. However, George with the same last name in a different state had our ADR's and he had ours!

That would worry me too....maybe you should call back and tell the CM what the other CM said and ask to have all the ADRs changed to the name of the other person in your party. Even if it's your husband so the same last name, it'd be better to have it say "Bob Smith" instead of "Becky Smith" if there is another Becky Smith. I can't imagine that they'd cancel Bob Smith just because there is another Smith with an ADR. But some overzealous CM might think Becky double booked everything.

And yeah, definitely keep your ADR numbers handy.

Here is another reason I wish they could email us our ADR list.....so often when I feel like something isn't going well with an ADR I wish I had something in print from WDW to put my mind at ease. I've ended my booking because the CM was getting things all messed up, and I didn't want to take any chances on more mess ups, but it always worries me if they did finally get it right. I had one CM arguing with me that there wasn't any Candlelight Processional the first week of December......ummm, gee, it says so on your website (not to mention every other website about Disney). Turned out she was looking at September????? Ummm, hello.....we talked about how busy it was going to be at Thanksgiving and how I was leaving for the actual holiday to visit grandma and how I really wanted to see the holiday decorations....then you think I'm coming in September? I realize they have a lot of calls and probably don't pay much attention to the banter.....but I kept saying December 4....how about December 5 then....no, how about December 6. Sheesh.

Called back to do the rest of mine and did confirm that she finally got it right, but I hate having to call and check up!

Book under a different phone number....maybe your cell phone or DH's work number? They have never ever called me so it's really not used, it's just to keep track of them.

She wouldn't move mine either. Not sure if it is because I told her it was my home number or she simply couldn't/didn't know how. :confused3 I should call back.

When my son was little, I went to City Hall where he was born to pick up a copy of his birth certificate for his passport.

I gave the woman his first and last name and date of birth.

The woman said "Is it Ryan Hunter *****, born 07/03/90?

I said "No, its Ryan Joseph *****, born 07/03/90."

She said "Well we have it in our system as Ryan Hunter *****"

Trying to stay calm, I told her I definitely did not put my childs middle name as Hunter (not that there is anything wrong with that!!) when filling out the forms at the hospital and that is was a mistake. She told me that she had it as Hunter and once it is registered there is no changing it unless I go to court and pay a hefty fee!!!

Furious, I told her we were going on a trip and I needed to get the passport. I asked her to just give me the certified copy and I would deal with the rest later. She printed out the copy, stamped it and handed it to me. I looked down at the Ryan Hunter *****, felt like crying, but saw something even more puzzling! I looked at the woman and asked "Who are Catherine and Brian???" She said "Arent you Catherine?" Umm..no!

4.1 second later, she found Ryan Joseph ****, born 07/03/90 to me and hubby!!!

Wow Disney1975 - that story has to take the cake! I have an extremely uncommon first name, in fact until 1 year ago I had never met anyone with the exact same spelling - then lo and behold I met someone in my town at my church with the same spelling. BeckWhy - I hope everything goes well for you

LOL! I thought it was funny that someone going to the same time as me had the same name... or ironic. I don't think my name is that common. Anyways...

Thanks for the support and stories everyone! This is one reason why I love this place!

aribelle: I'll call and see if I can change the ADRs to my ex's name. It's very uncommon (yes one of those names you have to PRONOUNCE and SPELL for everyone). I booked the ressies under my name because I'm not quite sure who I'm going with. I know your comment about the phone number was for someone else, but I already book everything under my cell. I don't have a land line.

Disney1975: So I used to go to Hollywood Video for videos... Well, one day I go to rent some movie and they tell me I own some awful amount (it was like $150 or something). And I'm like "WHAT?!" (There is a reason I don't go to Blockbuster and that's because they let my sister use my card and she wasn't an authorized user they just asked if she was my sister and she said yes... that could have been anyone.) Anyways, I'm like "what are the movies?" starting to flip out. And they name off a list of movies 1/2 of which I never heard of and I don't actually think I had even see any of them. Anyways, I think I asked for the name on the account or something and they told me. I grabbed my license and gave it to them "That's NOT me!" They all started laughing and said "we hear it all the time, 'I never rented those videos' but never once was it really the case!" I guess they reassign your membership ID number after its inactive for so long. Not quite as good as your story.. but..

I had the problem with DME in Febuary. There were two with the same name and same party size. We were even flying the same airline. DME canceled one of the pickups (mine) so I never got a notice on my door. The day of I called and got my pickup time I had to talk to a manager to get my pickup time back into the system.

I wouldn't worry about ADRs as they look up most of them by phone number.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Did the cm have kindof a southern accent? Not, that there is a thing wrong with that, I am definitely as southern as they come. I talked with a cm last week and she did the exact same thing to me. I made some changes and I asked her at the end to go down the list of my adrs and she started with them and got the first 2 right and then the 3rd adr was wrong, so I stopped her and she said "Oh, that must be another (insert my name here)." I thought to myself :scared1: ! So, needless to say, I called back 2 more times that day a few hours apart just to be sure that everything was ok. It really freaked me out. She really should not have shared that we me. I kindof got the impression the whole time that she might be new or just didn't know what she was doing.

Thank the lord there was no cake given to me at that time! If there was, it would have been all over the clerks face when she told me "I" had to pay a couple thousand dollars to have my sons middle name legally changed because of their mistake!

Even freakier than the same name/same date of birth..on the "Hunters" birth certificate, his address stated the same house number & street address (different city) of my grandmother who died in 1982!!!!

And the funniest/weirdest coincidence of my family....

My father and husband have the same birthday. My family always joked that he was the favorite son in law because of this, even though he came into the family about 5 years after my brother in law! We used to joke about my brother in law (sister's husband) being jealous etc..

So what did he do to feel special again??? My sister and BIL's first child was born on my mothers birthday!! Now they have the "favorite grandchild"!!!
