had chicken parm. Dry chicken and the sauce from a Prego jar was far better than theirs. had a tomato and mozz salad. Grape tomatos and fresh mozz balls with balsamic vinegar for $7, not worth it. Money spent for nothing great to talk about.

This is disappointing to hear. I was planning on a lunch at Tony's. I loved lady and the tramp growing up!:lovestruc

Sad to hear that. DF and I are eating there on our honeymoon. It was the only TS I could get us at MK. I have heard more bad things then good about Tony's, I'm a little worried now :scared:

Oh man...we were going to eat there the night of MNSSHP...I ate in like all the TS restaurants in Mk and have yet to try Tony's.

Should we just eat at like 1900 park fair then head over to the party?

dh and I ate there last year during MNSSHP b/c we couldn't get LTT and we really liked it. We had the spaghetti and meatballs which were good and the dessert (a variety of things) was HUGE! I was not expecting anything b/c of hearing bad reviews and was really pleasantly surprised. Plus our waitress was one of the nicest we had on our trip.

DH and I tried it twice a few years ago and said we wouldn't return for a long time. We didn't think it was that bad, but it definitely wasn't worth the price. There are much better places to eat a short monorail ride away!

This year we are trying CP for dinner. We usually don't do buffets other than breakfast, but after hearing a great review on the DIS podcast, we thought we'd give it a try.

We used to always do the castle for dinner, but then they ruined that by adding characters and a limited menu. :(

To everyone with Tony's ADRs...PLEASE do not change them! Try it for yourself and then decide. Everyone has different tastes and different expectations. I always hate to see someone change their ADR or their resort based on a handful of bad comments!

That's a shame you didn't like it there. We have been there a few times in the last year and had a great time & good food.

I wouldn't give up your ressie. You should try it yourself...everyone has different tastes and opinions (people love Brown Derby and H&V and we don't like them; people hate Mama Melrose and we love it). We have always had good meals at Tony's and great service.

While we're definitely not fans of Tony's, I do agree with the other posters who said to give Tony's a wing and decide for yourselves. To us, the interior is fabulous, but in our opinion the food is less than stellar. Give it a try. We like Mama's and Mama's is bashed as well.

So in my own perfect little world, the best WDW family friendly Italian restaurant would have Tony's decor and Mama's food, and the waitstaff would include Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen. Different strokes for different folks (and so on and so on and scooby dooby doo wap).

I wouldn't change your ADR, like others have said we all have different tastes. We are trying Tonys in Sept for ourselves and can't wait! I've heard a lot more good than bad lately.:thumbsup2

I agree about Tony's - the food did not make me gag, but I thought it was very overpriced, even by WDW standards of price inflation. I thought it was about Sbarro's quality, slightly below Olive Garden, but not entirely out of line with popular chain restaurants that serve the same basic fare.

DH will NOT go to any meal with characters - absolutely not his thing, and to be honest, I find it a little strange for adults-only parties to enjoy these kinds of places, but I digress - but I remember a few good meals at the old King Stephan's Banquet (as the castle restaurant was formerly known) from the good old days.

I consistently under-estimate the food at WDW b/c I have been disappointed by hightened expectations before. Take all of the reviews with a grain of salt. There are folks on here who darn near poop their pants over a Casey's hot dog, but I wouldn't feed one to my collies they are so bad TO ME. I think if you safely do not expect the most delicious meal ever, you will be fine.

Bummer, we are eating there next month for dinner

TRY it. You may very well like it. Remember, every restaurant has it's loyal fans as well as those who pan them. It's up to you to decide if you like it or not and how will you know if you don't give it a wing?

We are also eating dinner there next month and absolutely won't change our ADR. I had originally tried for LTT, which we have been to before, but it was booked and are going to CP later in the week. We decided to try Tony's for the first time. While there have been many bad reviews, I have also read many good ones. Personally, I think the reviews are helpful but also think that you really need to try things for yourself, everyone is different. I have read many bad things about Olive Garden yet my kids absolutely love it. You truly never know until you try it. :confused3

I am going to keep it, never been there before and I really do want to try it. Plus I have been changing my Oct ressies around so much that I am sick of changing things!

We ate there for lunch 2 years ago and it was very good. Also had an enjoyable dinner there last year. Was seated outside during Spectromagic. Watched the parade from our table. I do agree that its over priced but we were on the DDP so didn't care about price. Food wasn't spectacular but was very good and made an enjoyable dinner.

Honestly I do not feel most of the WDW restaurants are spectacular food compared with off site venues. But the Disney theming and overall experience adds something others can't match.

We have enjoyed our experiences at Tony's very much. Is is the absolute best Italian food I have ever had? No. Just like the steak I had at Le Cellier was so not even in the ballpark of great steaks I have had, but I still enjoyed it and would still go back.

Both times we have been in the last couple of years, we enjoyed our food, the desserts are wonderful (pistacchio creme brulee is my favorite) and the atmsophere is great. Its always packed and I have never seen outraged guests demanding a refund or leaving angry. I would keep your ADR.

We all have different tastes. I am not Italian so I didn't grow up eating the "real thing" in my grandma's house. I think if you take your Italian food really seriously, Tony's will probably disappoint in the same manner that Olive Garden does.

If you change your ADR every time you hear a bad review, be prepared to change all of them, all of the time. I can't think of one single place that ever gets good reviews all the time. I don't even worry anymore, I read the reviews because I find them interesting but in all, I know my own taste buds are the only ones that come into play at mealtime!
