Yak & Yeti recommendation

Y&Y has gotten pretty mixed reviews, most toward the unfavorable side, however I'm still going to give it a chance. My main reason is that my ADRs are at 4:30 and I'm looking foward to the quite walk back out of the park, I'm hoping that if we take our time the park will be mostly clear by the time we leave and head over to EPCOT to finish up our night at F&W.
So the question is has anyone who's been there got a food recommendation? I was hoping for something a little different from the usual Chinese place or even PF Chang's, which I feel is a cut above the usual Chinese place. I'm also wondering about that sparkling sake, I've seen a picture on the drink porn thread but haven't heard how it is. Anyone?

We did the Y&Y last month and loved it, full review and tons of pics are in my signature

We tried Yak & Yeti in June and enjoyed it :goodvibes This is from my trip report:
Dinner at Yak & Yeti:
DH & I started with cocktails from the bar. I don't remember what it was called, but it was very very good : At the table we started with the Dim Sum basket. It was pretty good, with somethings that I've never tried before.
DH had the Duck with Anandapur glaze--this was very good
I had the Crispy Honey Chicken--it was good. The tempura coating on the chicken was the best I've ever had! The honey sauce was allright, not as good as I expected but still good.
DD had the Shaoxing Steak & Shrimp--Wow! The skirt steak was incredible (I only got a tiny bite) so tender! The shrimp were very good as well
DS was not feeling very adventourus at this point, so he had the mini burger from the kids menu. It seemed to be a pretty good burger.

DD and I loved the prawn crisps with peanut dipping sauce appetizer. Others may disagree but we also really like the fried wonton dessert. :goodvibes

Awesome:thumbsup2
It looks like I have to try those ribs, I'm thinking the potstickers for an appetizer.
Given the time of your ADR and having to wait out the rain, was the park empty when you left?

Thanks, I had been wondering about the dim sum basket, couldn't decide if there would be stuff in there I'd like. I'm pretty adventurous but it looks so bland.

Okay I really have to learn how to multi quote.
Happy to hear that you liked those, they look like styrofoam to me :lmao:
wondered if they taste like it.

btw, when & where did you work at the World? I was College Program summer 90

We went in Feb 2008 and we all thought it was the best meal of our trip.
I really recommend the Wok Fried Stringbeans, they were amazing! Dh hesitated when I wanted to get these but now he has said he cant wait to have them again in September. I also loved the duck and the cream cheese wontons. I had a delicious bloody mary here too.

I cant wait to go again...I know I am having the Stringbeans, other things I want to try are the chicken lettuce cups and the pho.

I am sure you will love it, enjoy!

OH! You click on post reply too ! I didn't think it was doing anything.
Thank You !

I was right behind you ! I started in Sept 90 in Career Start, so we both lived at Vista Way party:
I was a merchandise lead at Centorium then in Glow in WS and last in Green thumb Emporium. I left in June 94.
How about you where did you work?

Awesome:thumbsup2

Good choice! :thumbsup2

Eating early was great because we saw the parade and missed some of the storm but it was so crowded that day when we arrived 1pm and it was just crazy with all the people running around in and out of the rain

Look at that I can mulltiquote! Thanks CelleinNC !!!!! :cool1:

I've been eyeing those stringbeans, DH makes something like that at home, they're a little more stir fried though with parmesan cheese and walnuts. Different I know but it makes me want to try them. I don't like duck but DH does, I'll recommend that to him. Love Bloody Mary's too.

We had lunch there in May and it was spectacular. The pho was outstanding!!
I was wondering what the Pho was like, is it pretty lite?

We had the sparkling sake at F&W 2 years ago -- it was very light and fizzy and packed a bit of a punch. Great with food!

Have fun!

cathy:woohoo:

Ate here back in April it was really good. I think you will like it.

Thanks Everyone for the positive feedback !
Now I'm torn between the ribs and the Pho, maybe if I don't tell DH that the duck is good I can get him to order one and I can order the other :rolleyes1
Definately having the sparkling sake, Cathy where did you have that at F&W?
I mean obviously Japan but do they have it at the kiosk or inside, I've done the sake tasting before but somehow missed the sparkling one.

We got the pot stickers and dim sum basket for an appetizer
Dinner I had the ribs and my Dh had some kind of fish
Dessert sorbet and the pineapple skewers. Everything was great. I will go back and get the ribs for sure.

DS got the ribs and he said they were great!

DD got the Seared Miso Salmon, I got the Crispy Honey Chicken, and DH got the Duck with Anandapur Glaze. All were excellent.

But we loved the appetizers the best - Wok fried green beans and the Lettuce Cups!! YUM!!
