The Great Make Up Trip Of 2008~7/22- SEE YOU REAL SOON! (pg. 86) ~COMPLETED~

Great update!!

Way to go DS in getting on Piratess:goodvibes

Man, Jordan Sparks was a miserable thing....Hope she betters at this as she gets older:sad2:

I hear ya about mind wandering.

I do that during movies that I have seen a lot, I like to look for errors:rotfl:

Not at all, I think any of us would have been waving back! She is just a snob, too good to acknowledge the fans. :snooty:
True. If someone waves at me now, I'll wave back even if I have no idea who they are.....and I'm not even famous. :lmao:

Yea there is something fake about her for sure....just something I don't like about her. Oh well.
You can definitely tell the difference in a new star and a seasoned one.

Her PR person should teach her how to act.
That's what happens. This kid went from nobody to a recording artist too fast.
Yes they should. She looked sort of lost or something.

Great update!!

I was surprised when he said he wanted to ride. So glad he tried it!
If a lot of people start saying she's snobby or rude, I bet she'll change her tune a bit.
:rotfl2: I do that during movies I've seen a lot too!

We quickly grabbed lunch at Pizzafari and then headed over to EE to use our FP's. I have no photo's of this time. But I do have a few pics of who we FINALLY got to see this trip......DEVINE!:) She was out after our EE ride and was just starting to walk away. I was able to snap these photo's before she was gone.

During her exit, I followed the walk way and could still see her through the tree's. I started to snap a few pics and she was flirting with my camera....

Every time we went to DW we have seen her. It is really cool the reaction of people when she is out. They can't believe their eyes.

Am I the only one who's never noticed all the little gnomes hiding in Norway?? DH goes to ride Maelstrom first and while DS and I are waiting outside I start snapping pictures. I look up and see one, then another, and I point them out to DS and we have a great time finding as many as we can.

On our first family trip to DW, we noticed alot of them. The kids had a great time finding them. After we left Norway, we also found a few in the topiaries that year. We took a few pics. You should still be able to see them on Winkers first TR.

I hope we catch Devine again next time. I will have to ask what time she will be out so we can see her. I'd like to see her do her whole "thing". We just saw her as she was leaving.

I'm so glad to know that there are more gnomes to find! We loved looking for these.

So, we have an extra day and we decide that today we would spend it riding the water taxi down the river to DTD, then over to OKW. We had such a good time riding the Surrey bike at POR and we had always planned to do it our last 2 trips to OKW but never had enough time. Today was the day!! By this time we were missing OKW something awful. We really enjoyed our stay at POR, but with a small child it just makes more sense for us to be able to spread out a bit. For instance, there were days where I couldn't wash/dry my hair until AFTER ds's nap because it would wake him up if I did. It just saves time being able to do it WHILE he's taking a nap. Anyhoo, we jumped up, got dressed, then headed down to the food court for breakfast. Today all of our meals were out of pocket because this was an add on day and we were told we couldn't add the dining plan to it.

We had a nice, yet HOT ride over to DTD. I didn't take any pic's because I was sitting in the middle and couldn't really get any good shots anyway. We walked around DTD for a while and then had lunch at Capt Jacks. We were able to walk right in since we showed up at an off time. Here are some pic's....
Lunch at Capt. Jacks. We really enjoyed our lunch here and plan on returning. I also had a REALLY good margarita on the rocks w/salt. :thumbsup2

We finally get a surrey bike and head out. We have 30 minutes so we decide to ride for 15 so that we can be back in 15. We would decide then if we wanted to do more. As much as we would have liked to, it was just so hot and we were exhausted when we got back. But we had smiles from ear to ear and that's what matters, right?

The building we stayed in on our first trip. It was first floor and had a view of the bushes and nothing else. We didn't care because we had booked a studio and had been upgraded to a 1 bedroom. This marked the start of our addiction. :rotfl2:

When we got back for DS's nap, we were so HOT and felt disgusting. We all washed up then ds napped while DH and I just laid around and rested for a while. That night we headed back over to MK. I always like to end our trip with MK. It's just something we do every trip. It's like tradition now. After Wishes we were in Tomorrowland and decided to start doing our usual slow walk around the entire back of the park. Usually by the time we make it back to Main Street on the other side, most of the crowd is gone. But this time, we saw a MOB of people headed toward us. They were all wearing some kind of special lanyard passes. They apparently must have had to check in in Tomorrowland. It didn't take long to figure out that all of these people had won more time in the park. The park closed at 9pm that night but they got to stay another couple of hours. The rides were still open but only if you had a pass. We were sort of bummed out we didn't get one. I'm wondering if they were handed out DURING Wishes in the hub section. We usually watch Wishes from around the Tomorrowland bridge. We totally missed out on that one. BUMMER!! Oh well.... we had our YOMD lanyards and pin sets. We were able to get ourselves an extra night. We were happy. We headed back to POR and tucked ourselves in. We were actually looking forward to heading home the next day.

Final thoughts..... We're not so sure that 2 trips to Disney that close to each other is such a great idea anymore. We didn't have too much time to relax between trips. Also, we DEFINITELY need to re-group and re-plan for going during the hot seasons. We have always gone during the winter. In the winter you can just stroll along without a care in the world and everyone is happy and there are hardly any lines. When it's hot, there are shorter tempers (we saw 3 different women lose it on their husbands in the middle of the park in front of everyone, 3 days in a row), the lines are longer, the kids scream more, and you need more of a definite strategy if you want to try to beat the heat. HUGE lesson learned....Do NOT go to Disney in the hot season and not partake in the pools or water parks. I don't know what the heck we were thinking!!! Next time we will definitely hit the pool and/or water park.

All in all, we had a great time and feel very blessed that we were able to do 2trips in one year. Never in a million years or a million dreams would I have thought that would be a possibility. When I was a little girl, I was extrememly shocked and thankful that my parents were able to take me and my sister ONCE in a lifetime!

Thanks to all of you guys for reading along with me whether it was your first or a 2nd or 3rd time in a row!! I have had a blast chatting with all of you. Maybe now I will have a little more time to read all of your TR's!! :lmao: Like I said before, I'm not going to be doing a PTR for the land/sea trip. DS is starting school in August and I'm sort of whooped after doing all of these PTR's and TR's back to back anyway. But PLEASE be on the lookout for my TR after our land/sea trip in June 2009. I plan on having a LOT of pictures. I might even have some more pictures with a LIVE Jordan this time. ;)

I really have enjoyed you trip report. I am sad it is over. I really enjoyed your pictures. They were beautiful.

I just want to warn you that it is not easy leaving you little one at kindergarder the first day. I will never forget Courtney and Brennan's first day. I practically ran out of the building to cry in the car. They grow up too fast. I know it is going to feel like a blink and then Grace will be starting school. She just turned one two weeks ago. I can't believe a year has passed already.

I will be on the lookout for you next trip report and I will definitely follw along there too. Thanks for keeping us entertained. Have a great rest of the summer. Laura

Hi Blue! Have been lurking ;) Just got back from Lake Charles, LA (stayed at our favorite L'auberge du Lac -- awesomeness, but not Disney :upsidedow) I remembered you being at Lake Charles for a festival, so I thought I'd mention this.

I feel so sad to read the endings of everyone's TR's (esp. mine! can you imagine, I was bawling with every word! :lmao: )...but it's healing to look forward to future Disney vacations.

So, when are we going to read your PTR? ;)

Thanks for the OKW photos -- I'll be there in 16 days! :yay:

Take care, and thanks for sharing your trip with us! :goodvibes

I'm sort of sad it's over too. I get sad at the end of each one. I guess it's because you know you finally have to let go.

Speaking of letting go....I know you are right. I will be a blubbering mess in the car on DS's first day of school. He started telling me the other day that he is nervous and he wants me to stay with him. I try not to get choked up when I talk to him about it all. DH will be away for work on this day so I will have to do it all by myself. That does not make it easy either.:sad2:

I can't believe Grace is already a year old!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE ONE!! :flower3:

We really need to get together. Don't lose my email addy!!

Oh yeah, we've been to L'auberge a few times. Actually we were there a few weeks ago for the party by the pool when the Gin Blossoms were playing out there. It was nice but HOT. We had some drinks then went to catch Sex & The City at the movies. :rotfl:

I had started your TR but now that I have more time I need to go catch up and finish reading it all. I'm bummed that I got so behind on everyone's TR's. :sad1:

You are going to LOVE OKW!! :cloud9: Have fun!!

Sounds like a great last day! Spending time at your fav resort and park. Thanks for taking us on your trip with you. I had a great time and I am said that it is over. I look forward to your Land/Sea TR. I am sure I will have some sort of insight into your trip;)

PS I love the pic of your son waving from the train. He just looks so happy.

PPS I did ok with my DD going to kindergarten.....it was only half day. I think it will be harder for me to have her go all day this year as a 1st grader.

So sad that it is over, but I really enjoyed it and am glad you shared it will all of us.:dance3:

I agree, Disney in summer is hard and that is why I try and go in the fall or early in like Summer, like May

OKW is gorgeous!!!!

I hear ya about first day of school. I am going to be mess too on DS first day of Pre-K. He already told me he wants us to go with him and wants to know why daddies and Mommies can not stay? I told him the chairs are too small for us:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I will be looking out for your TR next June....Can not wait :goodvibes

Thanks for reading along! I'm sooo looking forward to the land/sea trip! A cruise is a brand new journey for us. Should be exciting and fun!

I found out the way his school does it is that school will start on a thursday. Either the boys or the girls will go 1/2 a day on thursday and then the other on friday for 1/2 a day. THEN on Monday everyone goes together for their first full day. I guess this is a way to sort of get them used to it and orientate them. I think it will make easing in there a little less bumpy. His school also lets the parents join their child for lunch in the cafeteria any time we want. It's a private school and they will be going to Mass every Wednesday. We are invited to join the kids for that too. I'm pleased that they encourage family envolvement. I'm glad I have the option to be there as much as I can or need to be. The public schools around here say they want family envolvement but when you go they look at you like "why are you here?" I've had several friends tell me this.

So sad that it is over, but I really enjoyed it and am glad you shared it will all of us.:dance3:

I enjoyed writing it. Sorry I wasn't as fast with the updates as last time. Glad you were here reading along. Can't wait to read about your trip!!

"the chairs are too small" :rotfl2: I LOVE IT!!! I'm running out of things to say to ds so I may have to borrow that one. Too funny and cute!

Great tr. I'm so sad to see it end. I'm glad your family had a great time and were able to do two trips this year.

You're so right about going when it's hot. It takes a different kind of planning.

Can't wait to read your tr after your land/sea vacation.

Good luck to your son during his first year at school. He'll love it!!!

See you around the DIS :thumbsup2

Aww it's over?? :sad2: Yours is the first TR i've started while it was still going that has ended. I've read others that were done previously before I joined but yours is the first live TR and now it's no more...

Thanks for sharing your trip and beautiful photos with us. Thanks for welcoming me and I hope your DS's first day at school goes as smoothly as possible. Even though i don't have kids yet, I'm such a sap and I get teary eyed thinking about you (someone I don't even personally know) and all the other parents dropping off their son/daughter and I want to cry too! I'm silly but it's such a milestone for little ones.

Ok, I've stopped tearing up to once again say thank you and I'm excited that you're going again on a land and sea and I can't wait to read that TR!! Until next time!

Thanks for a great TR Cherie, how lucky to be able to add an extra day and I agree that girl (AI?) should have waved

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip :goodvibes

Thank you and thanks for reading along. I had a great time chatting with everyone and I will most definitely be roaming around more PTR's and TR's now that mine is over.

I can't wait for our land/sea trip. It's just going to be so different from anything we've ever done.

Thanks about DS. I'm sure he will love it. When we took the tour he waltzed right into the classroom and started playing with the other kids with no problem. I hope it's that way on his first day too.

Aww it's over?? :sad2: Yours is the first TR i've started while it was still going that has ended. I've read others that were done previously before I joined but yours is the first live TR and now it's no more...

I know how you feel. I felt the same way after reading my first live TR. That's what got me so addicted! :rotfl: I will definitely be around and I WILL be doing a TR after our next trip. It just seems so far away. YIKES!

I'm a sap too. I get teary-eyed at other peoples TR's and special moments even if I don't know them. I also did it before I had kids and kept thinking "what is WRONG with me??!!" :rotfl2: The truth is....NOTHING is wrong with us. Most of the people here on the DIS are this way. That's why I like it so much.

I'm sending you a PM....

Thanks for reading along, Jo! I've had such a good time and I can't wait to read about you and Rosie and all the other DISer's who are meeting up soon! How exciting!! I wish I could be there, that would be so much fun. I'm so jealous!!:rolleyes1
