I bidded .99 on an ebay auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370058781003&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:US:1123

I sent the payment for this auction using paypal and the seller refunded it back saying that they did not accept paypal from an unverified paypal account. I dont know anyone who has a verified account who can paypal it for me.

On the auction it does not say anything about paypaler have to be verified. I emailed the seller stating this and that it also saids on their auction that they do take money order but that was not available on the pay now button and the seller will not email me back. I don't know what to do. I really wanted the pins.

Any suggestions?

THANKS!

I could be wrong, but I think to verify your paypal account all you have to do is link it to ebay.

I would tell him that you will send a money order if you really want them.

I wondering if he wasn't happy with what they ended up selling for and hoping you'll let it go or something. On $3.99 I cannot imagine anyone having an issue if the buyer is unverified or not.

You have to add a bank account to have your paypal account verified. I dont have a bank account.

I have emailed twice and requested their address with no reply.

I was thinking the same thing about the 3.99

I would file a complaint with eBay. Include any correspondence; hopefully all correspondence is through eBay's system.

With paypal if you send an item to an unverified account they will not protect you if the buyer claims they did not receive an item even if you can prove you sent the item and it was delivered. This is not an uncommon thing if I had to guess the seller has been probably been burned one to many times. I only ship my big ticket items to verified accounts, I don't usually worry if its under $50.00 but thats just me. Good luck

You're confusing a VERIFIED account with a CONFIRMED account. You must ship to a CONFIRMED account in order to get the Seller Protection - verification of the account has nothing to do with the Seller Protection Policy.

Email the seller through ebay and tell them since their auction does not state you have to be verified, they must accept your paypal payment and send you the item. If they do not within another week, file a complaint with ebay and leave them a negative.

Summarized from the Paypal Help section:

To VERIFY your Paypal account, you must either add your bank account or apply & be approved for a Paypal Credit Card or Buyer Credit. There is no requirement for your account to be verified in order for the seller to have Paypal Protection.

A seller is required to ship to a CONFIRMED ADDRESS to gain Paypal Seller Protection. To confirm your address, you add a credit card account to your Paypal account, apply & be approved for a Paypal credit card or Buyer Credit, or thorugh an alternate confirmation proceure to verify your mailing address (takes a few days).

Maybe this seller is confused about verified and confirmed accounts?:confused3

Straight from the paypal site....All they are doing is verifying that your address matches the account info you provide and that you are a real person.

Get Verified using your credit card
Provide us with your info. We’ll make two small charges to your card. Return to PayPal and enter those charges along with the adjacent code as they appear on your credit card statement. We’ll reimburse you for the charges and you’ll be Verified.

What it Means to be Verified
To become Verified, a PayPal member in the United States must provide us with proof that he or she has opened an account at a bank or other financial institution. Because these institutions are required by law to screen account holders, PayPal's verification process increases security when you pay parties you do not know. Please note that PayPal's verification system does not constitute an endorsement of a member, nor a guarantee of a member's business practices. You should always consider other indicators when evaluating members, including length of PayPal membership and reputation scores (on eBay or other auction sites, if applicable).

No where in the auction description does it say they will ship to PayPal verified addresses only. What it looks like to me is they are upset that the pins did not go for a higher amount and are trying to get out of shipping the item. I would reply back to them that you will be contacting ebay concerning the matter immediately if they don't hold up their end of the deal.

I was just thinking that I've been selling for years and don't remember more than a handful of being unverified. Unconfirmed addresses I see all the time but not usually unverified.

I had planned to say that I wouldn't reasonably expect today's ebay to do much to punish the seller and they can't make him send you the pins. What they would do is make sure you were refunded but he already did that.

Then I looked at seller's FB. wow! what an eye opener. Who in the world comes home with 150+ fast passes?? Did he ride anything while he was there or just collect FPs, I wonder.
Lanyard pins still in bags, expired fast passes, AAA parking passes... he should be able to pay for another wdw vacation any day now on the expired "freebies" he's selling.

I particularly like the sentence in one auction where he says "The cast members who collect these fastpasses just, I collected Fast Passes the whole 2 weeks and used them all on different days, the cast members never looked at the dates. The looks at the time and not the dates (however I will not guarantee). Just enter the rides after the first time on the ticket." For that he gets $81 for 73 passes?? That's more than $1.00 each! Only in America...:thumbsup2
Oh, and for the parking pass - "Present this voucher to the Auto Plaza attendant at the Theme Parks with a valid resort ID or theme park ticket (they don't actually check, they just want to keep cars moving)." :lmao:

Unreal, ebay is cancelling auctions everyday for valid SW ticketless travel funds/certificates while sellers of expired FPs get a green light? :confused3
With 97% FB I'm surprised he's still selling and isn't subject to 21 day paypal holds and ebay sanctions in our "brave new bidder friendly ebay marketplace."
I was under the impression that FPs were to be included as bonus items with something else or as souvenier value only and that to state that they were valid was against ebay rules. Sure, you can usually use them but it's abuses like this that eventually stop the good things for everyone.

Not on the seller's side this time, it's rare for me, but I'd report that bozo and consider leaving some charming FB too!

That's what I was thinking too - and I wonder if the seller is confused about that also. I think in order to be "confirmed" you have to add a credit card to your PayPal account (though I joined so long ago I don't remember for sure). My DH has a CONFIRMED account, but he is NOT verified because our bank account is linked to my PayPal account (and you can only have 1 PayPal account per bank account).

Anyway, if you don't hear back from the seller, I would try contacting ebay to find out what your options are. Good luck!

OMG!!! THIS EBAY SELLER IS A WERIDO!!! :furious:

A very nice Diser paypaled the money for me from her verified account and the seller REFUNDED her payment too. I'm not sure the reason yet because the nice Diser has not pmed me that info yet.

I contacted ebay and they told me to contact her by phone. I requested her info from ebay and did a reverse look up for her address and now I have it. But is it going to be a waste of money if she just throws the MO away or sends it back.

I guess I'm not going to be able to get these pins for my dd9. She is now going to be heart broken because she liked them.

Thanks for everyone help!

Well, they aren't selling anything now. We have that set, actually DD11 has it and so do we. :) It wasn't that hard to find it in the parks to be honest. I really wouldn't trust anything that seller had up anyway, they might be fakes. Keep looking, someone else will put them up.
