Any updates would be appreciated!:cool1: We are wondering what floor the rooms are on and what floor the lounge is now on? Also wondering if you can get a Savannah room and if it is a good view?? And, if construction is an issue!:scared1: Thanks for any advise!:lmao:

I'll try to help a bit.

The lounge is still on the 6th floor. DVC villas occupy the rest of the floor...and we love them!

From what I've read, all regular club level rooms now have a savannah view and are on the 4th floor. The deluxe rooms on the 5th some of which were formally club level are now DVC villas.

Construction of Kidani Village only affects Sunset Savannah.

Have no idea about the bunk beds. Hopefully someone can help so here's a bump!

Since you were there before, remember how most club level rooms were on the 5th necessitating an elevator ride to the 6th? Now they're on the 4th.

The few rooms on the 6th are all DVC villas and are wonderful.

From what I've read, everyone has savannah view if booking a club level regular hotel room.

And having had two villa club level stays since Feb, yep...the lounge is on the 6th floor. It's as gorgeous and wonderful as ever. Great CMs too.:thumbsup2

Have a wonderful vacation!

We're leaving in the morning for club level at AKL. We were told by the IPO that the lounge is now back in it's orginal location. When we were there last summer it was still on the 6th floor. I really enjoyed it being there because we could sit and enjoy our drinks while watching the animals. Of course we could do it from our room balcony as well, but it was nice to have another option.

The animals can't be seen from the 6th floor lounge. :confused3

Were you there last year during the short period that the lounge was on the 5th floor overlooking Arusha Savannah?

Regardless, have a great trip.:cool1: Do you have room in your suitcase for a stowaway?:goodvibes

The original location of the concierge lounge was on the 6th floor, overlooking the lobby. That's where it was when we stayed there in 2002 and 2003 and again when we stayed in 2008. The animals cannot be seen from the lounge.

I have stayed their since the renovations. The lounge is still on 6th, where it always has been. The 5th & 6th fl are now DVC. The "regular" concierge rooms are on the 4th floor. They are all Savannah view, (the rock in the middle, don't remember the name.) We were on the Zebra trail, about 1/2 way down the curve (right side when you look at a map). The room & view was lovely. The walk to the lounge was a bit of a hike.

We've stayed in the club level villas twice now as well as in the regular rooms before renovations. The lounge is back on the 6th as several of us said but there was a short period of time when it was located in one of the suites on the 5th floor. Someone posted pictures of it. It was probably around a year ago now and I wonder if DisneyBee was there then. She/he is probably going to be surprised today! Lucky duck going there...so beautiful.

Yes, I mis-typed in my earlier post. When we were there last year (July '07) the lounge was on the 5th floor in the Royal Asante Suite where you could see the animals. I accidently typed the 6th floor. Sorry to have confused so many.

I'm just back from our trip, and the lounge is back on the 6th floor back in it's original location.

Did you have fun, DisneyBee? Where was your room?

Yes, thank you, we did have fun. Our room was 4219 overlooking Arusha. Great view, great room, great resort! It was very hot and the animals were really only out early in the morning and in the evening. However, I did notice that when we walked to the end of the 5th floor to go outside on the stairwell, there were plenty of animals to be seen there - even during the heat of the day. I think there are more shady areas for them there and that may have been the reason. That and the fact that the resort was trying to make up for the horrid construction view by keeping more animals there for the guests to see.

I took lots of pics and hope to have a trip report up soon. I also took photos of the new construction going on. It's quite an impressive project. I do feel bad, though, for anyone with that view right now - not a very pretty one to say the least!

I do plan to write a letter regarding some things that happened in the lounge. Children in swimsuits running wild - popping each other with towels, no food/ice/beverages (or very little) during specified times, young teens "enjoying" the evening cordials, people (adults and children) loading up their plates (sometimes two plates) with as much food as possible when there's clearly a line behind them, folks in pj pants/t-shirts - that sort of thing. I know these are basically the same complaints club guests have always had, and I know the staff cannot control everything. My suggestion to them would be that perhaps when guests register for club level the staff can send a short list of guidelines for the lounge.

Of course it wasn't like that all the time. There were times when families with children of all ages were there and they were well behaved and spoke in normal tones and acted like they were someplace special - not out by the pool, at a playground, etc.

I also feel like the staff wasn't as friendly as they've been in the past. When we approached the desks or needed something, they were always cordial and helpful, but I recall past visits where they would look up and greet you when you walked into the lounge. Most of the time they had their heads down doing "whatever" on their computers and never greeted anyone. The only one who consistently made the extra effort to greet people was was Jack - he's always been the most friendly in the past anyhow - it would be nice if they were all like that.

The buses seemed to be running slower this time around. I don't know if they've removed runs because of the gas prices, but I just know in the past we never waited more than 5-10 minutes for a bus to go anywhere. This time the waits were anywhere from 15-30 minutes. Not horrible, but not what we were used to.

Overall, it was a great stay, but there is room for improvement.

Oh, mousekeeping was great - our room was always fresh and we had turndown service. I left a tip every day in an envelope - some days it was gone, other days it was left there.
