PTR for the planning obsessed....Updated 11/5 We're home now.

For all of you OTP's I have something for you today. I found a little gem last week for our planning organization. At www.mousemanager.com you can download a FREE program to put all of your vacation info into. There are tabs for up to 21 days of daily activity plans, a budget page, places to put your travel info, dinning plans, packing lists and other stuff (and it has a DVC function too...but I don't have that turned on in mine). You can print everything out and I like how the pages look....really neat and clean. I've been running it on my laptop for about a week now and I haven't had any computer issues. The website doesn't do the little program justice...no screen shots...so I would suggest downloading it to see if it's for you. I waited to recommend it to make sure it was running correctly on my compture...wouldn't want to steer you into a mess.

Hi everyone!
Scrappie-Do: how was your twin's party???

HI! I'm going to post about now on my PTR...hop over when you can...it went well, but let's say the big thing about our party...a treasure hunt...isn't much of a treasure hunt, w/out the treasure!!!

:scared1: :scared1: come read to see what I mean...

Your party looked AWESOME!!! You outdone yourself lady! What are you going to do for the next 21 yrs??? JK

The play hut, decorations, cakes too cool:cool2: what did you end up doing for the crafts or activities?

Going to checkout that mousemanager link too. THANKS:thumbsup2

Scrappie

(OH ps I should be called "Sleepy" yesterday my scrap plan went kaboot, I ended up dozing on the couch most of the afternoon watching the CUB game...not productive, but restful! )

DH asked the next morning when we were taking down 500 feet of crepe paper...do we have to do it this big every year? My response was...if I want too!

The play hut, decorations, cakes too cool:cool2: what did you end up doing for the crafts or activities?
I got postcard like paper at the party store that was blank on one side and had the giaraffe print on the other and gave them crayons and animal stickers and told them to make a postcard or sign for the "zoo". And I also had tatoos for them to put on

Going to checkout that mousemanager link too. THANKS:thumbsup2

Thanks for catching that Jordan! I fixed it....I hate giving out wrong info.

You know I am all about being an OTP so I am definitely headed over there to check it all out. Thanks!

I think it's a neat little program...pretty simple but I like how it's organized.

Happy Birthday Liam! Those cakes are awesome!! Your an OTP and a great cake decorator - I'm impressed! (And I think we have the same exact fireplace!) I love the cub house too!

Glad Liam had a nice party and you had a nice Mother's Day - we went with pizza! Unfortunately, everyone is sick here... You'll have to post a picture of your new bracelet. :goodvibes

Thank you! Hope the boys are feeling better. Yes I'll post a picture of the bracelet when I get it. Barmakian's in Nashua is my favorite jewerly store so it will probably have to wait until we have another reason to drive down there.

Hi,

the new changes look good! I'll be able to let you know how dinner is at Kona (we'll be dinning there at least once maybe twice...) and how Captain Cook's is...we'll be eating there alot!!!

Plus don't know if you've dinned at Columbia Harbor House before...but we did back in 05 and REALLY enjoyed it! It was like a step up from the usual CS in the parks...and I recommend sitting up stairs...have to carry stroller up or leave outside. But it's so nice and quiet up there and they brought us our food....:thumbsup2

Lastly,

I checked out the mousemanager and I give it a 2nd! I downloaded the program and mainly used the day to day planner with the mini budgets and menu/dinning plans and printed them out. ( I skipped the beginning w/ my name etc and it worked fine) This was very well organized and easy to use! Thanks for the tip.

Hi Jules....thanks for stopping by.

Beaches & Cream as at the Yatch Club. We haven't eaten there yet but it's suppose to be great burgers/fries/onion rings and awesome ice cream. It's really small and you can't make ADR's for it.

I really need to find some time to update my PTR! maybe over the long weekend!

You would never know how much time I spend on the DIS by my own PTR! I'm still planning away on our October/November trip. The only change since my last post is that I have changed car rental ressies. We had $220 at Dollar for a compact car and now we have a mid-size (Pontiac G6) for $191 at National. Boy it really pays to do research here on the DIS boards. If we had stayed with a compact at National it would have only been $130. But I finally figured out that we needed a bigger car. So we got a bigger car and still saved money.:thumbsup2 And I think I can still do better on the rate when National Car puts out their ecoupons for October...should save another $30.

And I'm still waiting on Disney to publish the November park hours.... I'm toying with the idea of going to Epcot for 2 days instead of just 1. At this point I think I'll have Plans A thru Z ready for that Sunday that is currently a "off" day for us.

I have been wanting to scan some 1984 Disney pictures for a while now and I got the chance this morning to finally do it. So coming up soon I'll do a mini TR on my 1984 trip.

Hope you all are enjoying the holiday weekend!

Hi Heidi,

I have been lurking - spending most of my time on the Rent and Trade board, we need to rent or transfer points for April, keeping my fingers crossed!!

I loved Kona Cafe. We had dinner there last month - it was great!!

What is the Fountain at Swolphon?? I have never heard of that.

Great plans for up coming trip. We will be there just ahead of you, October 6-17th.

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn! Good luck with your DVC points. The Fountain seems to have almost the same menu as Beaches and Cream without the diner retro feel. I discovered it existed here on the DIS. Too bad we'll just miss each other in October :(

I can't wait to see old pics from Disney 1984! I turned ten that year! :goodvibes

I was 11 and in the 5th grade. I have to work today but I'll try to start tonight.

I have a pet peeve…well I have lots of pet peeves but one of my biggest Disney pet peeves is the people who wine about other people taking little kids to WDW….”why are you taking her/him there, they won’t remember it” blah blah blah. Well guess what….you can wait until she/he is 11 and they might still not remember it if you don’t do anything to keep those memories alive. My parents took me out of school for a week in May of 1984 for our family vacation to Florida. I was 11 year old and I don’t remember much. I’m sure I had fun, and I bet that my parents had fun too…I just don’t remember a lot of details because we have crappy pictures (some of which you will see) and we didn’t talk about the trip much after we got home. I’m telling you all this because I’m bringing an 18 month old to WDW in October. He probably won’t remember any of it but I want to make sure that I remember so I can tell him about it years from now. And I’m telling you this because I want to remind you to talk about your trips with your kids after you get back so they will remember the magic whatever age they are.

So what kind of 1984 TR can I possibly do if I don’t remember much? I don’t know….but we can look at the pictures and things that I do have and you can share what you remember from the mid-80’s!

If you will all please join me at the departure gate for our Delta flight at Boston’s Logan airport on May 5, 1984 we can being boarding for my first plane ride.

boardingpassnoname.jpg

And lucky for us my parents choice the non-smoking section of the airplane.

(What fool ever thought it was a good idea for people to smoke on an airplane?? And then what other fool thought that a non-smoking section was going to do any good for the non-smokers?)

Do you remember that the arm rests for the seats had little ash trays in them?

Our flight will be non-stop (about 3 hours) to Orlando. Need a drink? Well just check the back of your boarding pass for your selection. I think I'll have a Whiskey Sour...I'm sure I had a Coke in 1984.

backofboardingpass.jpg

I find that to be a real hoot considering what is going on with Delta and other airlines today.

Up Next: where would we stay....

We talk so much about our trips to WDW that my kids will probably think that their childhood was just one long extended trip there. :lmao:

:rotfl2: about the drink choices. I'll have a Tennessee Sour Mash, please. Can you imagine??? :crazy2:
