Should we skip Epcot?

I just can´t decide what to do on our arrival day. We will arrive on Aug 12th around 2 pm at AsSp. This would be the only day we could try to go to Epcot, but it`s EMH evening and the UG says to avoid it. We will only have 3 more days, which will be full days at MK, DHS and AK, since we are more interested in seeing these.
Should we try to go to Epcot anyway or will it will be crazy busy and not worth it?

I would go to Epcot that evening anyway - anything you get to do is a bonus since you weren't planning to hit that park anyway.

I would deffinatly go to epcot that first day!

Alot of epcot is just walking around the world showcase, and crowds won't make a big difference to that experience.

Soarin' we most likely be crazy busy (2 hour+ queue!) so if you can get a fast pass for that, I would.

Spaceship earth should be quiet, aswelll as figment and honey I shrunk the audience.

There should be plenty to do even with the crowds!

Even if you only go to see Illuminations and have a WSC snack, it will be worth it.

Epcot is a very big park that can absorb lots of people. You'll find that the countries around World Showcase won't be terribly crowded. I'd guess that you are only going to get shut-out of Soaring and Test Track.

No need to skip Epcot - even on EMH days the park is not crazy crowded like MK or AK. Don't worry about that. You'll have trouble getting on Soarin' if you don't get there early, and Test Track gets a bit crowded. Other than that, it's smoooooth sailing. And a great park that you wouldn't want to miss.

I can't imagine missing EPCOT! MK and EPCOT are my two favorite parks. Take advantage of EMH. I doubt you'll regret it.

I say go for it. My advice, rest awhile in your room, maybe til 5 or so. Then head to the park. You will still have 5 hrs left which will allow you to get a good amount in. But dont try to over extend yourself. Just relax, see what you can see. Eat a relaxed meal at one of the WS restaurants. Or if you just want to eat at counter service, head over to Sunshine Seasons at the Land, good variety. And definitely see Illuminations. What a great way to start a WDW vacation!

Definitely go. Like a previous poster said, rest for a while then head out and enjoy what you can. You should be able to ride SSE, Test Track has a single rider line, go to Club Cool and try Beverly. :rotfl: :rolleyes1 Snack around the World. Do what you can and then enjoy Illuminations.

Thanks everyone, I think you convinced me!:thumbsup2 Will plan to take a rest first and then hit Epcot, lots of reading to do now to see what we would like to do. I will definitely make my friend try Beverly ;)

you should defitnely go to Epcot the first day.
My dd: and I had tons of fun at Epcot. We went on Test Track;)
which was so fun plus the countrys was a big hit for us:rotfl2:
of course my dd :cutie: loved Paris
We also ate at Tutta A Talia in Italy so amazing and the food was amazing too:yay: If i where you I would totally go:dance3:

I agree with everyone on heading to EC for a few hours on your 1st day.

Also, for our family AK is not a full day. If you have park hopping privileges you might consider hopping over to EC on your AK day.

I've never believed in the whole "avoid any park with EMH that day" ideology. Go to EPCOT. :)

LOVE Epcot - much more so than DHS or AK. I personally wouldn't miss it.

AK is at least 1 1/2 days for us! I'd vote for going to Epcot the night you arrive and then part of your DHS day. It's a short boat ride away and DHS is the 1/2 day park for us! I'd start in Epcot then boat over to DHS & see Fantasmic.

Remember, you'll get a million and one opinions here. You do what you think is best.

OMG! I can't imagine skipping EPCOT. It is my favorite park. Forget about the UG and go. You will have a lot of fun.

We arrive Thursday and we're spending our first day In Epcot. Even if we don't get ride alot, the World Showcase is so interesting-we love the countries.
I'm sure my daughter will have us stop in at Japan for pick a pearl.:rotfl2:
