DDA Chapter 7

Ok, this post is for anyone who is good at math. Katie has had a really hard year with math. Specifically fractions, adding and subtracting compound fractions. I'm terrified that she will lose what little she managed to learn this year over the summer, so I'm looking for websites, workbooks, programs, etc., that could help her. She is not happy about it, but understands that she needs to learn this before math gets harder in 6th grade.

Do any of you know of anything that will help? I have a niece that is willing to tutor her, but she needs materials.

Thanks.

Do you have a Mardels near you? They are Christian bookstore that also has home school materials...we go there at the beginning of summer for the girls math books for the summer. Let me see if we've got a fraction one at home...if not I will be happy to go to Mardels for you!!

Happy Birthday Lizzy!!!
RObyn-that is perfect for Lizzy! Thank you and to everyone else for her birthday wishes!

Lucy seems to have come down with the girl's cold. I don't think that would be so bad except the cold seems to be in her eyes. The gunk draining from them is horrible. I see a trip to the doctor's tomorrow. She has been fussing off and on since she went to bed, hopefully she'll settle down soon.

I am sending out :wizard: and 's to everyone. I haven't had a chance to catch up yet. Have a great night everyone!
Hope the Dr was able to provide some relief for Lucy. Poor thing!

We had a good time at Garrett's 8th grade recognition last night, I will post some pictures once I get them loaded onto the computer. I have not seen Gary cry to many times, but last night got to him. I think it finally hit him that his son is growing up

The mall doesn't open until 10 AM!
How about Dunkin Donuts.:)

Well, my little Physics Professor turns 20 today!! Where has the time gone?! The kids called Jonathan to wish him a happy birthday...now that he has this internship, his day starts before noon! :rotfl2:
Happy Birthday to Jonathan!

I've been fighting vertigo all night :confused3 I don't think I've ever had it so bad. It didn't matter if my eyes were opened or closed the room was still spinning. I even feel nauseous. I'm trying to find someone to work for me tonight, but no luck so far. I don't think that I could carry a food tray since I'm having difficulty walking in a straight line :confused3 The customers would think I'm drunk.:rotfl: Hopefully I can talk Colby into a nap later as all I want to do is close my eyes. Of course he wants to play.
Hope you're feeling better today. Glad you found someone to take your shift.

Good morning. :)

I am enjoying my day off. I really should get productive but sometimes it's just so nice to have a lazy day.

Last night I mowed the backyard and trimmed some shrubs. Today I need to go out and mow the front. I have to pick the kids up from school at 1:30. I also need to go to the grocery as we are out of milk. I'm going to try to get Alyssa to lay down for a nap this afternoon since she will have a long night at her recital.

We have decided to go to the National Aquarium in Baltimore tomorrow. I hope the traffic tomorrow isn't tooooo horrendous. Robyn - we have our times for the Dolphin and 4D shows. What else should we make sure we see.

Have a great day!
:wizard: Good luck to Alyssa tonight! Have fun at the Aquarium!

I'm ok. Not really, but nothing I'm not "used to". Said inlaws are coming over today, and apparently now staying the night which Kyle and I had a lovely fight about. I'm measuring over 43 weeks pregnant, cry every day and night in pain that I've had for months and am NOT in the mood to play hostess -- especially to someone who drives me insane, moreso every time I see her.

Thanks for asking though ;)
:wizard: Hope the time goes fast!

Thought I would share pictures from last night:

What a handsome and nice looking young man. You should be proud!

I've been emailing back and forth with AR. I had asked her about any new characters that were out and about where she might be working while we are there. This is what she sent me

Hi Deb,

I had special character training today. We now have a "Big Al" from the Bears show at MK, Perla & Susie mice from Cinderella, and Launchpad McQuack (a very tall Donald) from a couple of old airplane movies. Shot all three today. I have no idea when they will be regulars or where they will be. The training was at MK so I assume they will be there. Wanted to give you a heads up about them. I can't remember the name of the movies that McQuack was in but he's great in a fighter pilot's uniform. I'll keep you posted if I hear of anyone else.

Also had some good news (at least I think it is). I was told I'm on the list for Portraits. However there are two lists - a very short list of 5 and a longer list of 15. Two of the portrait people from the Grand Floridian were there doing a display for recruiting portrait photographers for the future. One was an old friend and I asked her when they would be notifying people. She had a smile on her face and said "Ar, you're on the list". Then I found out from a manager there are two lists. They expect to have portrait photographers at all the resorts by the end of summer. That's why they're recruiting. Keep your fingers crossed.

You will get an "excited" email when I hear.

Ar
We saw Launchpad last August at AK. He loved that we had a card for him. Isn't he from the tv series Darkwing Duck?

I bet Ar would be wonderful as a portrait photographer! I bet everyone would warm up to her and feel comfortable right away. I wonder if all the resorts would really have a photographer. I think it would be fun to have them at the value resorts.

Bernadette - I hope to finish adding borders to the PhotoPass site this weekend. :thumbsup2
I've been so busy making Lizzy's skirt that I haven't done too many myself. Maybe I can find some time this weekend. I need to order the CD's in 2 weeks.

The pictures are absolutely stunning in that it shows how much damage and how "perfect" the damage was. Amazingly the death toll is still only one.

My favorite hero story was about the daycare. They had enough warning (thank God for the sirens) that the teachers got all of the kids to safety....in a bank safe!!
I saw the daycare director on the news this morning. I thought they said they didn't get to the safe til after the tornado hit but they had to evacuate what was left of the daycare when they smelt gas. It is amazing that more weren't killed. I just can't imagine loosing an entire town nor can I imagine what those poor parents were going through til they found thier children.

Thanks, and thanks to everyone else for their suggestions. I took the bull by the horns and went to talk to her teacher today (the class has field day). She suggested I stop by a store called Utah Idaho School Supply. I went, and they had tons of what I needed. I found 3 workbooks for Katie to do this summer. She won't be happy, until 6th grade starts and she finds she's not behind. At least that's my hope.

I finished Lizzy's skirt. I went to Target at lunch and found the perfect T for it! And found a pair of bike shorts for her to wear under it so she can twirl to her hearts content.

Now I need to make Emma the shirt I promised her for Memorial Day.

Um, Us!!;) I could even get one of you in free to the Aquarium.

I haven't been up to the city since we were there last August, so I don't know if there is anything else going on up there you all should see.

TGIF, DDA!

Bernadette - happy belated birthday to Lizzy! I hope to finish adding borders to the PhotoPass site this weekend. :thumbsup2

Jennifer - lots of   for the MIL visit. You certainly don't need that aggravation right now. I think it's time for Kyle to have a talk with his mom....

Thanks for the dittoable post, Lindsay.

We don't have to play "that team" again but the other coach's mom is the Clinic director so we have to deal with her for a long time.

Tammi - 95 looked horrible when I drove over it a couple of hours ago. I hope your trip home was not too hectic. Tell Alyssa to dance to her heart's content tonight!!

Deb - I hope the vertigo ... goes!

Bernadette - What an adorable "twirl" skirt!!

Well, we are back from the doctors. Lucy has a raging ear infection in one ear. Our doctor was surprised that Lucy was able to sleep last night. She also gave me drops for her eyes as they are still gunky.

I bet they only had part of the story when I watched last night....didn't pay too much attention as I was getting ready this morning. Still an amazing story.

It was what is considered a super storm....on the ground for a LONG time and so wide!!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, this time tomorrow we will be onboard. The port is only about an hour away so we don't leave here until tomorrow, it's been a hectic week at work, I tried to get as much done as I possible could as my work will just get pushed to the side and wait for me to get back and play catch up.

Has Jen left yet, Have a Wonderful Cruise!

Debbie-have a great cruise!!

Jen-hope you have an enjoyable, relaxing cruise!!:goodvibes

That is awesome!!!

Bernadette - What an adorable "twirl" skirt!!

What a great skirt!!

Thanks! Lizzy has been a red/white/blue & flag fan since she was about 2 so I wanted to make her something patriotic. She tried it on in my room this morning so I could make sure the waist fit her before I sewed up the elastic. She complained there wasn't enough room to twirl enough.

Thanks but we already ordered our tickets online. If you want to meet us for a bit, let me know. I don't know how bright of an idea  this is being a holiday weekend and all. I haven't decided which would be better to travel on, 95 or 301.

I stayed home today. :thumbsup2 Smart move.

I was able to get Alyssa to take a nap. She has been sleeping for about 40 minutes, so that's good!

Happy Birthday Lizzy!!!

Happy Belated Birthday Lizzie! Love the skirt Bernadette!

We had our meeting tonight- the meeting was to be between our parents, the other team's parents and the 4 coaches and the organization rep, instead of the president it was the Girls County Director. Our whole team was there and from the other team there were a total of 4 parents and the 2 coaches.

We were not allowed to rehash the incident but were to listen to the code of conduct for the organization. Did it solve anything, not particularly. But Eric is still allowed to coach and that is all that matters.

I'm glad he still wants to coach!

Lot's of PD :wizard: for baby Lucy

Good morning everyone!

Debbie, have a fantastic trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Jen you too!

Good morning! Kids are off for their last day at school. It is so hard to believe that at the end of the day I'll be the mom of three 2nd graders. Time has flown by, and I know it'll only go quicker in the years to come. I'm leaving in a few minutes for my last day too. Have a great day!

Brandon informed me that he wouldn't be a first grader until school started :rotfl:

I've been fighting vertigo all night :confused3 I don't think I've ever had it so bad. It didn't matter if my eyes were opened or closed the room was still spinning. I even feel nauseous. So the gate took pity on me and actually opened! :) Which is good, because when I took DS to school all the maintenance guys were out there, but when I came back they were all gone. My back-up plan was to ask one of them to open it for me.

I stopped at the bank and deposited my paycheck, but did I get cash since I am going out of town tomorrow? Nope. :headache: I am thinking of going to get a pedicure. I will definitely have to go out later today to put gas in the car (that will be a cheap outing, don't you think? ) so I can hit the ATM while I am out. I am having one of those days where I can't hold a thought in my head, so no telling how I will pull it together enough to be on a plane in 24 hours. :sad2:

I've had a few of these days this week, have a good trip

What time are you planning on getting here and doing the shows. We have a membership and have no plans. It is our weekend to do as we please, we just hadn't decided on anything yet.
