DDA Chapter 7

Good morning! Kids are off for their last day at school. It is so hard to believe that at the end of the day I'll be the mom of three 2nd graders. Time has flown by, and I know it'll only go quicker in the years to come. I'm leaving in a few minutes for my last day too. Have a great day!

I am fine....near Denver to the national news is quite a funny distance...let me see if I can find the information. We are expecting nasty weather all night though.

ETA: found the information... Windsor is about an hour on the other side of Denver from us...so just under an hour and a half away. The pictures of the town are amazing in the destruction

I'm glad to hear you guys were far removed from the damage! The pictures I saw were pretty rough! :(

Debbie & Jen have fun on your cruises!

Bernadette, Happy Belated Birthday to Lizzy :bday:

:wizard: & to all!

We had a good time at Garrett's 8th grade recognition last night, I will post some pictures once I get them loaded onto the computer. I have not seen Gary cry to many times, but last night got to him. I think it finally hit him that his son is growing up

It is raining cats & dogs out right now, I am so ready for some good weather!

You get your husband, the doctor and the nurses to play the bad guy! Have them let everyone know when you will be seeing visitors. Of course, a lot will depend on how the babies are after the birth. If they are in NICU, then there won't be visitation. That should help. Of course, I don't want them to be in the NICU, so I don't know what to wish for for you.

We finally had the nurses post visiting times on my door, and people were pretty good about following those hours (of course, she waited until the day before we left the hospital to come up with this plan).

:rotfl: The problem is, I don't mind WHEN people come, I just mind WHO comes! :rolleyes1

Our NICU actually lets just about anyone (over 14) visit if they are stable (just feeding and growing), as long as it's 1-2 at a time and ok with the parents.

Still, the bigger issue for me is that I'd rather my inlaws just wait a week or so to come down. And then they better realize that they sure as heck aren't staying at my house! :headache:

Hey Elizabeth - If I buy my luggage a seat on the plane, would it be allowed to check it's first bag free?

:rotfl: Add that one to the list when you call! :rotfl:

Depends on the airline. ;) As of yesterday Delta and Airtran still allowed the first bag free, so I would imagine Mr. Bagg would be allowed one checked bag, one carry on, and one personal item on those carriers. So for the price of a seat you could bring a fair amount more luggage. I wonder if Mr. Bagg would need ID? He's under 18, so maybe not!

We had our meeting tonight- the meeting was to be between our parents, the other team's parents and the 4 coaches and the organization rep, instead of the president it was the Girls County Director. Our whole team was there and from the other team there were a total of 4 parents and the 2 coaches.

We were not allowed to rehash the incident but were to listen to the code of conduct for the organization. Did it solve anything, not particularly. But Eric is still allowed to coach and that is all that matters.

That sounds like a waste of time. :headache: I hope you don't have too many more games!
Hope Lucy feels better soon! :wizard:

Tonight's concert was wonderful! I cannot wait till tomorrow's concert too; it promises to be just as entertaining. Every single student is performing their own composition so it is doubly impressive.

I hope the performances go well! :goodvibes

I have to take DS to school. The problem is the battery in my gate remote is dead so I won't be able to get back onto the property. The leasing office will replace the battery but they don't open until later. That means I will have to lurk outside and wait for someone with a remote to open the gate, or I can lurk at the exit and come in that way when someone leaves.

Go shopping. :yay:

Sounds cute! We do not have those in our store or I would want the Goofy one for sure..Chanon, I think you are going to like my Christmas cards this year.;)

I have been looking at cruises for 2009..they are addictive.:cloud9:
OR planning 2 weeks at Disney but between 2 resorts. Its fun to dream right now, with all the airfare going up & charging for everything (like using the toilet!, that will be next!) I hope we can get in at least one nice week or so at Disneyworld. I know we will be driving the next few trips anyway.

August 1st, 2009 Eastern sounds like the PERFECT cruise for your family! ;)

I definitely think it's much better to let the baby hang out in the nursery! Makes me a better mommy!!!

Out of all the advice I received pre-baby, this was the best, and I'm glad I listened. I had a tough delivery with Andrew, so he slept at night in the nursery and stayed with me during the day. I think mom's should get a choice because different things work for different people.

I read through earlier, but now I have forgotten what I was going to comment on!

My mom had a biopsy today on one of the uterine "fibroids". Results in 5-7 days. They told her if it is cancerous she needs a hysterectomy (Duh!) and if not then she may still need a hysterectomy if that's what the oncologist feels is the best course of action. I kind of think that if her uterus is prone to growths that it needs to come out, even if nothing has been cancerous so far.

She goes Tuesday for the ultrasound to look at the breast tumor, so at least by the time she goes for her surgical consult all the test results should be back and they can make an informed decision about what needs to be done.

More PD for your Mom and for you! Enjoy your visit this weekend!

Today is Lizzy's 9th birthday.:cake: We'll just do cupcakes tonight (store bought) and do cake at MIL's on Sunday. She picked a Pooh cake but thought about going with a plain cake. I'm glad I have at least this one more year of a kiddie cake with her.

Happy Belated birthday Lizzy!

They couldn't rehash it because it sounds like there was nothing wrong. I agree with Elizabeth -- a waste of time. PD to Eric, you and the girls! You don't have to play that same team again this season, do you?

Lucy seems to have come down with the girl's cold. I don't think that would be so bad except the cold seems to be in her eyes. The gunk draining from them is horrible. I see a trip to the doctor's tomorrow. She has been fussing off and on since she went to bed, hopefully she'll settle down soon.

I am sending out :wizard: and 's to everyone. I haven't had a chance to catch up yet. Have a great night everyone!

I hope Lucy is better today. :wizard:

Good night all. Tomorrow promises to be a busy day. I need to get a lot done in order to get moving quickly on our projects on Saturday. Of course we need to be out of here as soon as the kids get off the bus for a lacrosse game. I'll leave that early for work. Where does time go anyway :confused3

Good luck with the game today!

Jen and Debbie -- wishing you lots of fun and great weather!

Swimming and a recital today for us. Soccer tomorrow and work. We hope to get to a movie or two this weekend.

Have a good weekend everyone! :)

Go shopping. :yay:

The mall doesn't open until 10 AM!

Marci - I hope you guys have a good weekend! I am kind of "blah" about having to pack and go away this weekend. My mom made it sound like we are just going to be a huge inconvenience to everyone, so I am not looking forward to going. I am starting to get kind of "blah" about our WDW trip, too, so I guess it is just a "blah" time for me! ;)

Well, my little Physics Professor turns 20 today!! Where has the time gone?! The kids called Jonathan to wish him a happy birthday...now that he has this internship, his day starts before noon! :rotfl2:

Elizabeth -- this is a stressful time. Don't let your Mom get you down -- she'll be glad to see you and I think you'll be glad you went. Hang in there -- we're all here for you. :grouphug:

We'll I expected this...sort of. Airtran's (non-sale) price for my December flight went from $146 each way to $161 each way. I do not see ANY flights to FL any less than $300 from Ohio any more.
I know SW will be increasing their prices, but I really hope that the increase isn't going to be as high at 11%...

ETA: Yet Pittsburgh prices haven't changed from the $79 fare!?

I've been fighting vertigo all night :confused3 I don't think I've ever had it so bad. It didn't matter if my eyes were opened or closed the room was still spinning. I even feel nauseous. I'm trying to find someone to work for me tonight, but no luck so far. I don't think that I could carry a food tray since I'm having difficulty walking in a straight line :confused3 The customers would think I'm drunk.:rotfl: Hopefully I can talk Colby into a nap later as all I want to do is close my eyes. Of course he wants to play.

Well, now you get to pay $15 for your first checked bag, too! BUT the people who aren't checking a bag will still have to pay the fare increase, which is why an across-the-board fare increase makes more sense than charging for bags. And a fare increase wouldn't have made resort airline check-in all screwy!
