BTMRR Refurishment for 1 Day Only

Hmmm, I'm headed to DL tomorrow and just found out that BTMRR is gonna be in refurbishment just for one day, that being tomorrow. Anyone know why just 1 day and have any idea what could they possibly accomplish in 1 day. I found this strange and when I checked last week it was NOT on the refurbishment list. Good thing I'll have Thursday and Friday to ride it!

Ummmm...hmmm...they could inconvenience a lot of people in one day, that's quite an accomplishment if you ask me. Other than that I have no idea I usually just roll with the punches.

just seems strange, 1 day and popped up out of the blue, wasn't there last week when i was looking through the calendar then today, i go online and there it is.

Anything could come up. Maybe they have to repair the trains or have to undergo an inspection. I don't mind them closing the ride for a day to make sure it is safe.

Hopefully it will be up and running the next day.

While we were there, it did close down at least once that we know of...we were going to go for our 2nd ride and it was closed so we went on the Mark Twain instead. It was open afterwards and we went on it and of course had a blast!!

Hopefully it opens on time for your trip!

Unscheduled maintenance most likely for an issue they saw during daily inspection. Another could be planned maintenance that wasn't scheduled because of a part that might have come in early...or maybe late. Who knows but anything is possible with BTMRR. A friend from college was a BTMRR CM and that thing always had issues.

They gotta do what they gotta do. People have perished on BTMRR, don't forget. The ride is also 30 years old and has been a workhorse. I won't be surprised if they shut her down for a couple years ala Space Mtn. style to rebuild it sometime in the next few years.

I'm impressed that they would post up the one day refurb shutdown online, kinda cool. It's just one day to be sure the ride is safe.

When we were there last Monday....they took one of the trains off right when we got up front. The CM was unloading and looked down at a connection between two cars.....and shook her head and wouldn't let anyone get on. They sent the car empty and it came back on the other loading side. They were all crowded around and then sent it backwards back in the "shop".

Made the line get long quick....it meant only 1 train was in operation from that point forward.
