Does anyone have experience just ordering character meal vouchers from getaway today?

We already have our tickets and hotel reservations but really want to add a character meal or two. How does ordering just the vouchers work?

Thanks!

Just call GAT and tell them you want to add a meal. When you pick up your tickets at DL, they will give you paper vouchers. You take those with you to your meal, gratuity is included. Just note that you have to make reservations yourself. So, even if you have the voucher... you still have to call DL in advance to reserve your seat:)
Have fun!

Can you buy just the vouchers? Just thinking of giving a character meal as a gift to a friend but would like to give vouchers instead of gift cards. :) We both have AP's so we won't be buying packages.

The have the processing fee on top of that don't they? Is it $20? And then the PODCAST $10 discount???

Just the character meal vouchers have a $10 handling fee, but it is cancelled with the $10 podcast code discount. It is a huge savings over the "peak time" character meal charges.

Make SURE you place all your orders separately, that way you can use the podcast code for each order. Example, if ordering vouchers for Minnie's and for Ariel's, order them at separate times. Or, if ordering tickets and meal vouchers, ordem them at separate times. Worked great for us, because luckily I noticed on my order before it went all the way through that they were charging the $10 for each thing I ordered. So I cancelled that before it went all the way through, and re-did each separately. Make sure to make your dining ressies first, though, through Disney Dining. You would hate to be stuck paying for a meal that you cannot get a ressie for.

I just called Disney Dining for pricing (including tax and tip) and it saved about $5 per person per meal. The only one that wasn't a value was Lilo and Stich as we would order ala cart and it's cheaper. GAT is also cheaper than the AAA discount. Just make sure you buy each meal separately and use the code (PODCAST) with each transaction to save the $10 processing fee

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

Exactly what I wanted to hear! I've got my reservations now I'll go ahead and purchase the vouchers.

This is info I was looking for as well. If I purchase the vouchers now, do I pick them up at the ticket booth as I would Disney Park tickets? Or do they mail the vouchers?

They did mail me a info packet about the park tickets that I purchased very quickly, but I leave in 9 days and wouldn't want to chance ordering the vouchers if they are mailed. Thanks for the help!

You pick them up at the ticket booth:)

Has anyone comfirmed with Disney that the vouchers are good even when we are eating during the inflated "peak time" pricing?

I ordered hotel and tickets from Getaway today. In the package of lanyards, pins, and scrapbook there was a coupon book that had a 10% off coupon for any meal in a Disney hotel. So, we will use that for Goofy's kitchen meal. But then I can use my Disney Dollars from my Disney visa to pay for the meal instead of having to prepay the meal. So that is my plan of attack.

Can anyone tell me what the inflates prices are? I was going by the prices on allearsnet when planning for our meals.

We are going to Ariel's Grotto for lunch and having b'fast with Minnie at the Plaza Inn at the end of June. Does anyone know the prices for these meals at the time we are going? Also, just for good measure ;) if anyone knows the prices for the character b'fast at GCH (Storytellers?) that would be helpful too. :thumbsup2

Ballarinamom mentioned it was saving $5 per person and that would really add up for our party of 5 for two meals!!!
