--gas would be for a Dodge Calibur to travel from Nevada to Disneyland?

I can't imagine it being too expensive, it's not a big car at all.

Thanks if you can help. :wizard:

Where in Nevada? we are a big state

:thumbsup2 ok me too actually , I have a big SUV and use almost a full tank to get there and almost all to get back due to the grades. I have budgeted $200.00 just because we need to do some driving into LA when we are there , once we are at DL the car does not move.

The way I figure how much gas will run is to know that a bare bones trip from Napa to Anaheim will run me about 100 gallons of gas. Then I know about what the price will be at the time we leave. I figure gas will be around $4.50 a gallon when we next go in Oct. therefore $450.00 for gas alone.

You can get approximate miles from your house to Disneyland by using any of the map programs on the internet divide by your aprox. mileage for highway use and know how many gallons you should use times whatever the price will be when you want to go. Seems to be only going in one direction lately UP!!!

I've been trying to figure out what it's going to cost us to get my sister in law's Durango to Anaheim and back from San Diego. Premium gas.

So I looked up the average mph for Durangos, then checked out the route on mapquest (if I were traveling much further I would get a triptik from AAA b/c I belong to AAA and like using the benefits of the membership) to see what the mileage is. Little bit of multiplication and I got my answer. Approximately. :goodvibes

Hi there DonDuck!
I just have to pipe in and say I bought a 2008 Dodge Calibur three weeks ago and love it:lovestruc . I average 25 mpg, mostly city driving, but at a pretty good speed (40-50 mph) and not too much traffic. Are you about 300 miles away? That would equate to about 24 gallons of gas at $4.00/gallon would be about $100. That would allow a little leeway. Just my guess.

Have a fabulous trip.:)

We just did the trip from Vegas to DL in a Dodge Caravan and we used just about exactly a half a tank each way. We filled up before we left and got some gas in Barstow on the way back.

Napa to Anaheim is like, 400 miles or so? So you only get around 4 MPG? Yikes! :scared:

Napa to Anaheim is more like 430-450. Depends on where in Napa. I am in Suisun and it's exactly 402.5 miles from my driveway to the Candy Cane Inn in Anaheim. :) That's using tripometer in the van.

Don Duck, we use a full tank one way, when we leave our tank is full, we stop in Lost Hills and fill up (a bit over halfway for us) and then we drive the rest of the way. On the way home we stop in LH again and fill up. That leaves me with enough to get to and from work the next day. :) We spent $75 on each tank so it was $150 total for us to drive round trip. Of course gas was $3.79 a gallon then so you need to add about 10 cents a gallon now.

Ooops, that would be a round trip. I forgot we threw in a trip to San Diego on our last run for a total of about 1050 miles. We drive in a loaded up Toyota Sequoia that gets about 15-16 mpg. So we actually used about 70 gallons last trip and another 10 gallons running around. If I overestimate I feel better when I don't use it all.

Thanks for pointing out that the math works you just need to have all the necessary facts.

Phew! That sounds more like it. I, however, failed to think about the round trip aspect myself!

So, I did a mapquest and it said Disneyland is about 266 miles from our home. I put gas at about 3.60 (of course, give or take some) and multiplied the two, and ended up with about a hundred bucks for gas...:confused3

Not too bad, I say.

Yeah, that is pretty sweet.

I assumed 25 mpg, 266 miles, gas at $4 and you were still under $100.

Have a blast!
