Hello all! And welcome to my 4th Trip Report!! I'm feeling like an expert now and realizing how much fun it is to take a trip, knowing you get to share it when you get back!

So... I thought I'd get this one going. Once again, my ticker says "one month"... even thought it's really just under two months to go. So I'm off and running with a new trippie!! HOORAY!

Okay... Here's the situation...my parents went away on a week's vacation and I took the keys to my mom's new Porsche... Sorry.. busted into a little Fresh Prince for a moment.

But I digress. My son, Tyson, turns 8 this summer. My husband, Matt, teaches a drum and bugle corps all summer and usually misses Tyson's birthday. (which has been fine!.. so don't feel bad!) Well.. guess where Matt's drum corps is performing this summer on Tyson's birthday? Give up?

ORLANDO!!

So here's the plan:
My sister lives in Atlanta. I am taking Tyson and our 2-year-old daughter, Shaelyn for a vacation in Atlanta. We will hang with the cousins for a day or two. Then I'll tell Tyson we are going for a little ride. Shae will stay with my sister and her fam, Ty and I will take a quick ride to FLORIDA!! Of course Tyson will figure out where we are going. He will quickly conclude we are going to Disney.

WRONG! We are going to see Daddy's drum corps! They are performing in Orlando.

"But MOM.. we are in Orlando.. can't we go to Disney?!?!"

"Sorry son, we can't... but we get to see Daddy's drum corps!!"

We are even staying in Kissimmee after the show. Brilliant, I know!

Then the next morning, when we get up to 'leave', we'll just HAPPEN to pull into Old Key West (or Epcot.. haven't figured that one out yet). Ty will be SO happY!! I just can't wait to see his face!

Would YOU like to see his face? Here it is.. he's so handsome!

Well, this is where we will plan our little trip together.. just me and my DIS friends! Hope you're coming along for the ride.

And please don't judge me for leaving the 2-year-old behind. Tyson didn't even get to go to Disney for the first time until he was 3. Shae's been twice already!! She'll never know what she missed. And we already have our 5-day, whole-family vacation planned for April '09.

He is reading this over my shoulder and wants to know how come he can't have a surprise trip too I said "because I'm not Sooze and you're not Tyson" to which he responded "Can I be Tyson's friend and his mom can surprise me too!" What do you say to that? Looking forward to the journey!

That poor little ginger of yours... you know she'll never let you forget it. JUST KIDDING! We left Aubree with her Granny & one of my sisters when we went in Jan. 2007! Tyson is going to have such a great time... what a cool surprise.

I've had a few close calls, but I try to DIS when I'm at school or after the kids are in bed. Otherwise, the 'minimize' button has been my best friend!!

Seriously, I keep thinking that in 7 years or so, she'll find the pictures that we'll take on this trip and ask, "Where was I?!" I'll have to deal with that when it happens, I guess.

Yay! I'm a rock and in inspiration! Glad to encourage you to take time for your adult-self! It hit me the other day how QUICKLY my kids are going to be gone.. and (hopefully) how LONG Matt and I will be together without them... we need to cultivate ourselves as well as the kids, ya know? Glad you're along for the ride!!
