Question about AP

Well we have decided to go back to DL at the end of Oct (25th to 1st) with our 2 boys (13 and 4) And I cant help but thank everyone on here for there wealth of knowledge. But I do have a questiuon to ask about the AP. I was looking over the discounts (mostly 10% off) and thought maybe hte AP was the way to go. From what I've read I believe its $259 to get one (we live in Canada). What I'm curious about, is can we get one AP ot reap the benifits of discounts? IE I get my wife, and 2 boys the 4 day hopper pass (at $185,and 155) and use My AP pass to get 10% off food and other things? I can see us having no problem spending enough to save the $80 extra for one AP pass. As well does anyone know what the AP rates on the DL hotels around the end of OCT are? And again are we required to have 4 AP's or just one person in the Family. I hope this all makes sense.

Only one person needs to have the AP to get the discount. You just need to make sure the AP holder is the person paying (some CMs are real sticklers on this issue while others are a bit more lenient on this rule).

AP rates at the DLR hotels have progressively gotten worse and worse. Last fall you could get into the PPH for $129 a night, it jumped up to almost $200 this spring. Perhaps with the US economy crashing, they will offer some better rates this fall? We can hope, but I wouldn't count on it.

So just so I understand this right, An AP is the same as a hopper pass, (ie rides, enterance etc etc) As well I noticed AP has a discount at Goofy's Kitchen does this mean we can get 10% off on a Character Breakfast?

Yep, an AP is just like a hopper pass, you can get into both DLR and DCA and hop between parks.. And use it for a fastpass...

With a SoCal Select, SoCal, and Deluxe AP you get 10% off selected dining throughout DLR and with the Premium AP you get 15%. Most of the eateries have the discount except for a few, you can check out Disneyland.com/ap for the complete list of discounts..

Thank you all. One last question does anyone know the cost of the Tickets for Halloween at DL? From what I've read you have to buy seperate tickets for Trick or Treating and such?

What that means is that it goes into the FP machines just like a normal ticket.
