WOOHOO!! DH and I have decided to stay at WL in August 2009! We are from Washington State and I just love the look of WL! And with a 4 year old DD, can't beat the boat to MK!

So we are meeting family for dinner at Il Mulino at the Swan Dolphin hotel. Can anyone tell me the best way via Disney transportation to get to Swan Dolphin from WL.

TIA,
Robin

Well, you have a couple of choices. You can take a bus to Epcot and then walk out the back gate and over to the Swan/Dolphin, or you can take a boat to MK or bus to any other park and catch a resort bus, or you can take the bus to DTD and catch a direct bus to Swan/Dolphin, I think they share with Yacht and Beach Club or Boardwalk, don't remember which.

Hi All,

Just back from WL and it was amazinggggggggg!!!!!! I really did not want to leave. We stayed Club Level for the first time and it was very nice. I have lots of pictures of the Lodge that I will uplaod in a day or 2 (when dh has the time to show me how to do it--I am slightly--well very--techie challenged!!)
We got to be flag family one day which was absolutly fantastic. The view from the roof was unbelivable--you could see as far as Epcot and EE at Animal Kingdom. We had Jack as our guide and he was soooo knowledgable and just all round wonderful. We had a great daytime housekeeper, Diane, who was really sweet. Did I mention it was sunny and did not rain for 8 days straight::rolleyes1 no lie--Thats just what kind of unusually great vacation it was. I also got a hug from Stan for giving him a cough drop:love: ( for all of you WL vets who know stan) Stan is the adorable older gentleman who greets you when you first pull up to the lodge and says"Welcome Home" when you walk in. Its a great way to kick off your trip.
If anyone has ANY questions feel free to fire away. This is the wonderful informative thread that I got all my info from!!!-

P.S. Kimmar I have a WCC story too!!!:rotfl: Hee Haa--- I dont have enough time to write that one right now!!!!!

Have a great day.

Thanks for the info!

My daughter is in love with horses. She can spend her whole day at the stables she rides at just so she can be around them. She won't mind if it's just a slow trail ride.

......long time no 'see'....

I think the easiest would be to catch a bus from WL to DHS (Studios). From there, you can either catch a boat to S/D or even walk along the canal.

...I don't know if it's necessarily EASIER, but another alternative you can consider is to take the boat to MK and catch a bus from there directly to S/D....

One thing she might like then is being able to talk to the people who lead the trail ride. The two girls on our ride were very nice and loooove horses and told a lot of stories about the different horses that they have at WDW. So I bet she would love talking to them. I have no idea if doing the last ride of the morning might give her more of a chance to talk to them, but it's a possibility.

That's a great idea Sk8Leigh...thanks!!!

Here is a pic from the show my daughter rode in a few weeks ago. I couldn't help but post it :)

Can anyone go up to the roof or is it just for the flag family?

Only flag family and cast members are allowed to go up to the roof. Sorry. You actually have to go to the Club Level to get to the stair case that goes up to the roof.

We are making our first trip to Disney in may of 09. It will be me, dh, and dd21,dd8 and dd 23 mnths. We are being joined by my sister and s-mom. Should we stay in a deluxe room and enjoy the club level or stay in 2 standards room (no club level)? You all seem to be the WL experts so I would like your opinions!

Hi DisneyMom09,

First of all congrats on your first Disney trip.Once you go to Disney you will be hooked for life!!!! As far as your room choice I think it depends on a couple of things. Sometimes its nice to have a little space when you go vacation with family members(sister and s-mom):rotfl: --hence 2 seperate standard rooms. However if you get along well and that is not a problem the CL at WL is really wonderful. Even though a deluxe is more $ than 2 standard per night I think you would make it up with the breakfast alone for 6 ppl. The breakfast offered is a light fare but so convienent. And its not even that light--bagels, muffins, coffee, cereal, danish--ect. It was perfect for my family. I figured that was a savings of at least 30 - 40 a day for breakfast alone. Plus they have different offerings depending on the time of day. There is a detailed listing on page 1 of this thread. They also having a detailed listing on pg 1 of this thread of room sizes and locations. It has a wealth of info and might help you in your decision. Hope this helps a little. Good luck with your planning.:goodvibes

Thanks Jeanne! That's a shame - I'd love to see the view from up there. Never mind, I'm sure there'll be a thousand other beautiful views to enjoy!
