Impact of AKL construction

I will be there during the first week of free dining at AKL. How concerned should I be about the contruction going on. I have heard some say it all depends upon your room location. If they put me in a bad room, how likely would they change my room to a better location? What is the possibility of the hotel being booked solid....if that is the case, would they move me to a different deluxe (without charging me more)

We were pool view and heard nothing. I wouldn't have known there was construction going on at all.

We had this worry too, didn't see or hear a thing (apart from covers on 5th floor balcony overlooking lobby-wouldn't have noticed this if it hadn't been pointed out to me). Have a great time-don't forget to look out for baby giraffe and zebra!

It was very disruptive in the first room we were in. The room they switched us to the next day was so quiet that you wouldn't have known there was construction going on at all.

I assume you have booked it right? If so ask for a room far away from the construction. If not they will move you to another rooom if they have one. I am not sure if they will move you to another resort free of charge. The construction has been going on now for about a year now. When they first started they were calling people asking them if they wanted to move to another resort but if it cost more it was up to the person to pay. At least that what they told my brother when he went last year in June. He decided to cancel & got all his money back. If you think it will be loud then I would rebook. MHO. Have you thought about the club level? Going May 13th & was reassured no noise. If they are doing work it should be only 9 AM to 5 PM. I know lousy :sad2: Good Luck !

It SHOULD be only 9-5. That's what we were told when we first checked in to the room. It was in full swing when I went out on my balcony at 6:30am last Monday.

Well that what I was told but as we all know that doen't mean it will be that;) If this is the case I would call called front desk and ask why so early? But then again they might not care (the workers) if they wake you up. Some wake up call if you ask me :happytv:
