Wow - May is gonna be packed

Just called to try and switch resorts for 2nd week of May - No rooms available anywhere except Caribbean Beach and Saratoga Springs. Every other Disney Resort is booked solid.

Remember that alot of rooms are sold to places like Orbitz, Travelocity and many other travel organizations. Its up to them to get people in those rooms. So even though it says all full, it more than likely won't be. If that was the case, Disney would start opening up more resorts on property ( non-DVC ) so that they aren't forced to turn people away.

How were you trying to switch? With a discount? Which discount? Each discount has a specific number of rooms blocked out for it. So if you had an annual pass rate for resort A and wanted to switch to resort B, they only told you that there were no annual pass discounted rooms available anywhere. Same with any other discounted room.

If you really want to make a switch, I'll bet there are rack rate rooms available. So don't worry about the crowd levels.

Nope - Wasn't looking for any discounts at all. I was just looking for a room at WL. She said it was sold out.

ETA: Just because you can't get a room a WL does not mean every room in DW is sold out your initial post is VERY misleading. I found rooms @ POR, CSR, Allstars movies and music FW Grand Floridian, Poly, SS, etc.

Where?

I checked on disneyworld.com and expedia. 5/15 - 5/19. Only ones available are CBR and Saratoga.

On Orbitz, those 2, plus the All Stars, Pop, Boardwalk and Poly are available. Nothing else.

How is it misleading? I asked about WL, but was told by the CM that the only resorts that had rooms available were CBR and Saratoga. I'm going by what I was told. And in doing a search on disneyworld.com for those dates, I found the same thing.

I found all of the resorts I listed on Disney.com. It's misleading because you are stating that all but 2 resorts are sold out and as you later posted that is not the case. You in fact found 6 resorts available I found 8 that does not mean crowded by any means.

I was finding the same thing, everything booked. We were trying to switch resorts for next week and couldn't find anything at the Poly. We tried for about 6 weeks to get availability there. When we couldn't we tried WL, nothing. We also tried GF, nothing as well. They would have an opening for one night but not our entire length of stay. I never used travelocity or anything like that. Even POR and AS Music was full. Finally after calling for 6 weeks something finally opened up last week so now we are at the POLY, paying rack rate! I am just happy we are not having to do a split stay. Keep trying, maybe something will open up for you too. After talking to the CM last week she did say most of their resorts are full. She said that there are alot of conventions in May in the Orlando area and that it has always been a popular time to stay onsite at DW. So maybe, just maybe, the resorts may be full but the parks won't be too bad. Either way, we are leaving Monday. Have a nice stay!!!

I am going by what I was told by a CM when I called this morning. If you have a problem with it, I guess you should question the CM I spoke to.

I just checked disney.com, punched in that weekend for dates and started clicking resorts. I found availability at every single one I tried, there's even availability at Wilderness Lodge that weekend. Probably the precise dates you wanted for that length of time in the room type you wanted weren't availalble?

Possibly the CM was implying you've left it a little late to get a particular resort at a certain room level for those exact dates? I don't know, the reservation CMs aren't always stellar. I wouldn't panic about May. I couldn't find a single hotel booked solid for that weekend. I didn't use your dates to define the weekend though, the weekend is 2 days, or including friday, which is what I did. You're probably just running into them not having rooms this close to your vacation on the precise days you want. Can you change them at all? I saw vacancy at CBR, and CSR for mods and a some of the deluxes. I didn't bother with CR as its booked solid pretty much year round.

No worries here on my end. You didn't mislead anyone maybe some cancel who know anymore I punched my dates in & the resorts I wanted and came up empty handed. My dates are 5-13 to the 19 but I want club level since I already paid & got my vouchers & any changes will have to be higher in cost without paying a fee. Thanks for sharing I appreciated

Just last week I booked a room at POP for May 18. The CM on the phone said there were tons of rooms available. Must have filled up quickly! We also looked at CSR, CBR, and the All Stars and everything was open at that point.
