Does the travel agent (AAA) book what building that you want when they make the reservation?

Which building is close to the busses?

Thanks.

You can ask for a preferred room, which AAA can do for you. We stayed in Martinique in '06. Usually first bus stop to be picked up and dropped off. Also it's closest to Old Port Royale. Enjoy your vacation. :goodvibes

I don't think they will book a specified location.....they will jot down your preferred location, but that is not a guarantee.....I went in September and requested Aruba or Barbados and was given Jamaica (which was better) imo...I just booked a trip today through AAA and booked preferred.

DD and I are leaving May 19th (a rushed planning) We did not get the dining plan. I hope I do not regret it, but figured it was such a late date, that I would not get where I wanted anyway....We are just going to take our chances.....:)

Preferred locations cost extra nightly. You can make a request but no you can't book a building at CBR. You might want to read the first post of the CBR FAQ thread for information on the resort.

If you areb paying for a preferred location, Martinique is great. If not, Jamaica is a wonderful choice in terms of proximity.

I'll answer the last question first. There's no such thing as a building far from a bus stop. Each village has its own bus stop, so you can't get a room that is a long walk to a bus stop, if you know what I mean.
Each village has 6 numbered buildings (except for Trinidad North, which has only 3).

Old Port Royale is the area that has the main pool, food court, restaurant, arcade, shops, etc. If you want to be as close as possible to OPR, then you must reserve and pay for a category called "preferred location." The preferred location buildings are all 3 buildings in Trinidad North, as well as 3 of the 6 buildings in Martinique. If you book preferred location, you are guaranteed a preferred location room (meaning a room in Trinidad North or half of Martinique). Whether preferred location or not, you can't guarantee a specific building or village ... you can only REQUEST that. If you booked through a travel agent, then that TA must be the one to put any requests onto your reservation.

And by the way ...

In terms of buses, buses to/from Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney (these are separate buses, not a combined MK/DTD bus) start at Martinique. Buses to from Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom (again, all separate buses) start at Jamaica.

I'll agree with both! In January we paid for a preferred room, and I have to say that I feel it was very much worth it IF you plan to use the food court a good deal (as we did.)

We have stayed at CB three times. We have been in Jamacia (awesome), Barbados (not bad) and Trinidad South (uh oh). When we went last year we were in Trinidad South and my stomach dropped when the cast member told me. Yes, I had read all the horror stories of how far away it was from Old Port Royale. However, to tell you the truth, it was not that bad. We walked to the food court each morning and then back to brush teeth, put up mugs, etc before heading to the bus stop. We really enjoyed the walk and many times my DH commented about how it was not at all like I had read. So, I would not pay for a preferred room.

We have stayed at CBR several times and always requested preferred location. The first time we requested Martinique and ended up in Trinidad North. We loved it! It was so much quieter than Martinique and we have requested Trinidad North since and gotten it. Even at requesting preferred location, we have friends that have gotten there and ended up in building that were not preferred location but across the bay. As others have mentioned, everywhere is close to a bus stop - transportation was great. Going again in 68 days - can't wait.

All of the buildings have their own bus stop, so you are never far. Trinidad North, Martinique and Jamaica are by far the best locations. If you want to be close to the main area I would definately recommend you avoid Trinidad South. It is a very long walk and last on the bus route--many times in the mornings, the busses are already full and don't even stop there.
