Greetings from Wisconsin!

I was first able to listen to this week's podcast this morning (Friday) on the way to work. As you were discussing the chocolates that were sent in, I started thinking to myself that I should send down some cheese - specifically cheese curds. Lo and behold, less than a minute later, there's Julie requesting cheese from Wisconsin!

So... Bob, Kevin and Julie - consider your cheese on its way! It's up to you if you want to share. :rolleyes1

There's a small cheese producer less than 5 miles from my house where I'll picking up your cheese curds tomorrow - the curds are usually so fresh that they're still warm (yummy!). If you have any specific cheese requests (sharp, mild, cheddar, colby, etc.), let me know before Saturday a.m. and I'll see what I can do to accommodate!

I *love* squeaky cheese (curds)!!! In our neck of the woods we have the Tillamook Cheese factory and no trip to the coast is complete until we've stopped and had an ice cream cone and picked up some curds. Not too good for my diet...but a girl's got to splurge every now and again, right?

Ther is NOTHING in the world that is better than warm cheese curds!

Heaven in every bite! If I only had a cheese factory close by......

The team is sure in for a real treat!!!:goodvibes

We live close to the Amana Colonies, and they have a cheese factory there. We love to go and get cheese curds, but I can hardly stand the smell of the place.

Depending on where you are in the Chicago area, you could be less than 2 hours from my house. That's just a 4 hour commitment (round trip) to get fresh, warm cheese curds. That's a bargain in my book!

Darn, you beat me to it! I'm from La Crosse, home of the world's largest 6 pack and world record for most bars on one street. Maybe they want some beer to go with that cheese?:rotfl2:

When I was at Disney as a CP, the two things I missed most in terms of food was friday night fish fry and cheese curds. This time I'll be plenty prepared with my own stash when I go down in January!

My mom was raised in Pulaski, WI, I spent many summers there. The milk from my grandfathers cows went straight to the cheese factory.

I miss those days.......

"When you say WIS-CON-SIN, You've said it all!"

You're welcome, Julie. Just a small 'thanks' for all the :rotfl2: you've given to me during the last couple of years of listening to the podcast.

I think that the beer would be appropriate for the Corey 'care package'!::yes:: Maybe some Sprecher?

Cheese curds??? I used to go to Wisconsin several times a year (for work:sad2: ) and I never had them. Sounds like I really missed out.

Maybe this could be a "Core" package?!? Okay... that was a long way to go for a laugh... (a groan maybe?)

My wife and I were the ones who sent the chocolates. It wasn't much really. However, I feel like we got our own segment! Too bad no envelope.

At least we have a shiny new sponsor plaque. All we need now is a new tag from the tag fairy and our dreams are complete!

Thanks p-cast team! Y'all rock! (Corey & Julie, was that the correct use of "y'all"? I'm a northerner!)

You're close to me then... We could be neighbors and not even know it! :D

I'm in big ol' Raycilla...

That is so nice of everyone to send the things down to the team.

What exactly is a cheese curd? Just wondering. I live on the east coast and have never herd of them. Thanks.

My DW and I lived in Neenah, WI for a couple of years in the late '70's. We LOVED the deep fried cheese curds served at the local bars, too. They were great with the Wisconsin beers like Heilmann's Old Style or Special Export. :goodvibes

I'm a little farther north: Sheboygan county - truly the land of cheese and brats!

Shevegas!!! Howdy, neighbor! :wave2: Did you survive the storms today?

If you haven't ever had cheese curds to those reading, might I strongly suggest you make a road trip this summer to the great white north. Not only can you get some primo cheese curds while here but you can also visit the STATE FAIR!! ;) Talk about the apex of amazing Wisconsin Junk Food! ;)

cream puffs, 29 foods on a stick, corn on the cob, deep fried everything (including veggies), cheese curds, elephant ears, funnelcakes, foot long corn dogs...

Oh the list goes on. ;)

Thanks everyone for the cheese curd info. I have to say I might be a bit freaked out by the texture but otherwise they sound good. 29 foods on a stick sounds very interesting. (Coming from a corndog lover) LOL. We have those on the Eastern shore along with our jumbo lump crabcakes. Mmmmm.
