The Great Make Up Trip Of 2008~7/22- SEE YOU REAL SOON! (pg. 86) ~COMPLETED~

Those who read my last PTR may remember the bag dilema I was having. I wanted a small bag to fit the few park items I carry plus my little digital camera and my mini DV-recorder camera. I finally found a small bag that would work but now that my little digital camera died and I opted on a bigger camera, this trip needs a bigger bag.
Here are pic's of the bag dilema from last trip......
The tongue was a tribute to Jordan. Here was my camera "ball" instead of a bag.

Here was the dilema I was having....hopefully not having to carry 2 bags to the park...

The bag that worked last time...

This brings me to that sling bag that I showed you guys about a month ago that I ordered online. Well, it got here and it is HUGE!! When I put it on it takes up my entire back from my shoulders to halfway down my butt!! I thought maybe I'd carry it anyway but when I put the camera in it and tried it on, then tried to slide it around to get the camera out quickly....there was no "quickly" about it. I will use this bag as my "soccer mom" bag from now on but it is not coming with me to WDW. :sad2:

I then went on to pull apart my small digital camera and put it back together and it turned on! I thought I'd take it with me to the parks but have the bigger one in the car or a locker as back up. But I really, really want to carry around my NEW camera!

This dilema has been bothering me since I bought the bigger camera and planned this make up trip. So today DS and I set out to find a bag no matter how long it took. I'm happy to say, I found one by the 2nd store and.....DUH...I found it at Target. Not in the normal bag/luggage section and not in the purse section, but in the MEN'S section!! They had a few messenger type bags and I found one that was on the smaller side....well for a man anyway. I'm only 5' 3" so for me it's about a medium sized bag.

The point is that I found one to fit the camera and it has a couple of other small pockets so that I can put the few park essentuals that I usually carry in my bag. DH carries a backpack so most of our stuff is in there but we each carry things like Advil, Tums, bandaids, and potty seat covers that have "stick 'em" on the back for DS in case he just has to do "that" at the park. Luckily that hasn't happened yet!:woohoo: The seat covers are cool...they are oversized so they cover the entire seat, and they have plastic on the back so no "moisture" that may be on the seat will come through, and they stick to the seat so they won't slide around. :thumbsup2

Anyhoo, back to the bag issue.....So my new bag isn't very feminine looking obviously since I got it in the men's section, but I think it's going to work so I am super happy now.
New bag...

New bag with New camera inside. I placed 2 folded up pillowcases in the bottom to give it some cushion.

I also bought DS some blue Disney Croc's today since he didn't have any shoes to go with the Hawaiian outfits that we are wearing to Kona. He hasn't taken them off since we got home so I had to take a pic with them on his feet. FJ is helping to guard DS's new shoes.

cute bag! Which reminds me, I need to find one! We use a back pack and dh carries it. The one we used the last 2 trips ended up going to scout camp last summer and didn't survive.

FJ is Huge! It is funny that he's helping your DS and you get ready for the trip. Looks like he's just like his non flat self! :) :rotfl:

Great bag!

Thanks. I saw plenty of back packs today just not enough of what I needed.

Great bag!
FJ is not too big. There is even a back slot on my new bag that FJ can fit into! :woohoo:

I like Disney crocs.

Me too! Sadly, the main store that sells them here is ALWAYS out of my size. :sad2:

The potty toppers are all over the internet now. I found out about them here on the DIS back in 2006 while planning for our 2007 trip. I love them!
Here's a link to one site that has them.....

:scared1: Don't get the Coach bag wet!!! Maybe you could buy it a poncho.:confused3 :lmao: Funny but at the same time, I'm dead serious! Just sort of wrap a poncho around it when you do water rides. Not sure if you guys have "Dollar Tree" stores up there but if you do, they sell 2 packs of cheap poncho's for $1. You could get a couple of them and have like 4 ponchos! And since they are so cheap you can just throw it away after the ride and use a fresh one next time.

Thanks.

You'll probably change your mind 40 times in those 4 months too!:rotfl:

Tell Biff that the picture of him after whacking Pluto in the crotch makes me smile everytime I see it!

What kind of surgery is he having?

Ok, duh.....must be on his eye if he's wearing a patch. I'm so smart I'm dangerous!

Thank ya

I see they have Spongebob ones and that is right up his alley

:goodvibes

One more day and you're at single digits! I'm just excited because I'm down to less than 2 months! Definitely jealous of you!!

I see that! All they had when we ordered were teddy bears or Dora. We got the teddy bears. ;)
Scott cracks me up too.

You're gonna make me like crocs one way or another.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: They are just so comfortable and easy for a trip to WDW. If I could find some good flipflops that had enough cushion to where by back wouldn't start hurting from standing up all day then I would get flipflops instead. I don't really wear Croc's a lot. I ususally wear my Nike's at WDW. But I have a couple of croc's because I have a couple of outfits that just don't look good with tennis shoes. At home I pretty much only wear my crocs to go hang in the back yard or check the mail, etc.

I know!!! I'm so excited!!:woohoo:
Your's is moving right along too! Congrats on being under 2 months.:yay:

Today I finally printed out all of ds's character meet pictures from last trip for his autograph book. We put them in the book today. Since this book is pretty close to being full, I was planning on getting him a new one for this trip. I was planning on just buying one from the gift shop at POR when we check in. But now I'm thinking of ordering another one from the place I got the last one. We liked it because it was spiral bound and easy for DS to hold as well as the characters. I'd just flip it to the right page and hand it to DS and he'd hand it to the characters. Super easy and nothing got mixed up or dropped. I wonder if I could get another one in time.:confused3 Ahh, who am I kidding....I guarantee you by the time this night is over I will have ordered a new one.

Here's a quick pick of a page in the last one. Nothing fancy, just a pic next to each autograph. DS loves it!!

Besides the above, I have finished all of the shopping. All I have to do is wait on the mail for the rest of our clothes to come in. The only thing left to buy is ice for the ice chest we are bringing for the drive and milk for DS. I can't believe we are so close and I haven't packed anything yet. The entire tone of this trip is different than last time. It is MUCH MORE laid back. I guess since it's our 2nd trip this year we don't feel the need to pack too much in.

Now that everything but packing is done, I will be focusing more on DS's home learning. Not that I wasn't before, but now I will kick it up a notch. This will keep us busy and focused until trip time. I plan on myself and DS going different places this week and taking FJ along on our adventures. :thumbsup2 I will slowly start putting things in suitcases until it's time to leave. I can't believe that in just a few hours we will be down to a single digit on our countdown!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

As promised, here are a couple of pic's from our last trip....

A few from Downtown Disney:
