Help me plan my days?

I am trying to plan our days for vacation. I was only going to get 2 theme park tickets, but I caved under pressure and got 3. Now, I am trying to figure out what day to do what. I realize that I won't have enough time to do everything, but I want to do as much as I can without overwhelming the kids.

Tues.- arrive around 1 pm, Downtown Disney

Wed.- Magic Kingdom

Thurs.- rent a van and drive to a beach, relaxing day

Fri.- Epcot

Sat.- MGM back to resort to leave at 3PM for airport



Should I move MGM to Thursday morning? Either way, I am afraid we won't have enough time at MGM. Any suggestions?

I would not think you would have enough time at MGM if you have never been before. I would not want to drive to the beach my last day either however.

I would not think you would have enough time at MGM if you have never been before. I would not want to drive to the beach my last day either however.

I agree with Bethy Lou on this one. It will take 2 days alone just to see the MK. I would postpone the beach also.

How old are your kids? What hotel are you staying at?
Do you really want to go to a beach?

Without knowing that I'd say skip the beach and do the hotel pool your last day or 1st day. I think such a short day at MGM might seem like a waste of money. If you got there early you could see alot (depending on crowds) if your kids are younger and not interested/able to do some attractions.

We have done a park a day before but its FULL STEAM ahead! If I were you I would maybe reconsider the beach and try something like this


Tue arrive hit the pool, downtown disney followed by fireworks from top of Contemporary or On from the beach of Poly. Poly has great area for kids to play too....

Thur Epcot

Fri MGM

Sat Chef Mickeys for breakfast then relax at the pool.

PS Mgm was by far our fave! we went there 2 or 3 times on our hoppers.

The beach is a must for us. We have never seen the ocean. This may be our one and only trip. I'm 30 ish and I have never been. My kids are 2 preschoolers and 8 and 12 years old.

How about this....

It's basically the same as what you have, but I recommond doing the Disney days together and having the beach be separate. Otherwise, it's a lot of going back and forth and you may be tired out.

It's basically the same as what you have, but I recommond doing the Disney days together and having the beach be separate. Otherwise, it's a lot of going back and forth and you may be tired out.

Out of all of the parks I would do the partial for MGM. The only problem with going in the second half of the day is that you might not be able to get fast passes for the rides and could have to do stand by which could eat up a lot of your time. You would have to decide if the shows or the rides would be the most important things for you.

Wow, if you have never seen the ocean it is a must for sure! I live on Long Island so I can't imagine!

I like the pp idea for MGM the first day instead of the last. Just pick your must-dos and see how much you get done. DTD is a good option for the last day. If you want to buy anything you'll find it there. I often find that when I am in the parks I see things I want but always wait to see whatelse I may come acroosss and before I know it the trip is over. Plenty of choices for lunch and some distractions for the kids -lego store w/ playground, small train ride ($2), walking on the pier along the water, icecream, etc.

Definitely go see the ocean!

Also, I'm going to go against the other posters because ALL 5 of my children like Hollywood Studios better than Epcot. Don't get me wrong... we love Epcot... Soarin, Test Track, walking around the World showcase, etc., but Hollywood Studios is their 2nd favorite park. (Magic Kingdom is 1st.)

Anyway, it's just a thought... but with your children's ages, they may enjoy HS more.

What time of year are you visiting WDW?
Have you checked the calendar for park hours... early or late Extra Magic Hours?
Are you using Magical Express? (They will pick-up 3 hours before your scheduled departure time.)

If you will actually be on disney property around 1 pm, I would go to a park that day... depending on when the park closes, you will most likely have more hours on your first day, than on your last day.

So...

Day 1 - arrive, check-in, then Hollywood Studios or Epcot
Day 2 - Beach (Relax from hetic day before.)
Day 3 - Magic Kingdom
Day 4 - Epcot or Hollywood Studios
Day 5 - check-out, Downtown Disney, depart
