Thanks for writing.

I know this is a difficult time for our players/Guests, and it is for us
too. Unfortunately the decision is set to close Virtual Magic Kingdom on
May 21st, 2008.

There are several factors that went into the decision, although
primarily, as part of the Disneyland 50th Celebration, the
game/promotion has operated well beyond the original time it was planned
to run.

Our resources are now focused on imagining future online worlds,
nonetheless, I have forwarded your email onto our executives here so
they can hear your concerns to keep VMK open.

We appreciate your interest in VMK and hope you continue to enjoy the
game until we close. We have lots of magic left in the game, so please
join us.

Any of the staff that has been around long enough and seen stories like Slinkyman's, would never call VMK a "promotion".

I got a letter like that today also! I was so excited to see that it was self addressed! I couldn't believe someone other than a computer felt the need to send me a response. Oh well, I am still sending my three letters a day! lol

I think it's just the "new" canned response. They saw the reaction to their previous heartless response and adjusted to compensate, in typical Disney fashion.

I wouldn't be surprised to see more of these "nice" type responses. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, I doubt "Vince" is forwarding anything to anyone.

Vince is a real person, and a really nice guy. I met him and have written to him about things on vmk several times over the past 2 years. I honestly think if anyone could help it would be him.

Everyone has to keep their fingers crosses. We're not out of time yet. I still think tho that aside from writing the letters, ppl have to not play the other disney games. Thats very important. If they succeed why take a second look at vmk.

I just got home a bit ago from classes and checked my email. I too got an email like this from Vince.

I could've sworn he's the guy who I spoke to on the phone in early 2007 (I think that's when it was) about the pirate pin code not working after I had tried for weeks to get a response from Contact Us. The name definitely rings a bell. If it's the same guy, I believe what he says when he says he will forward the messages. He was very kind and very helpful.
