Chapter 47. Thursday, February 7th. Day 8. Part 1. Animal Kingdom Day 2.
So when I last left you, Wendy and clan were watching Illuminations...oh yeah and the Greatest Hits......
So Kim gets up and does her early morning run. I'm up after she's showered and ready at about 8:15am.
Wendy and clan are milling about, but not nearly ready to go. Josh, RoboJo and Baby J are headed to the Magic Kingdom.
We (Kim, Wendy, Derek and I) all agreed that we wanted to go back to Animal Kingdom since Wendy and Erin missed a good portion of AK due to the
The Flame Tree BBQ Standoff of 2008. However, since Wendy and clan weren't ready yet, Kim and I got some bonus Adults Only time.
We trucked it out to the bus stop around 8:55 and made it to the Animal Kingdom entrance by about 9:15am. No wait for the busses again...You know who has the
mojo? That's right Asian Man of Mystery that's who.
Here's Kim at the entrance of AK. She's looking extra foxy today (remember that word, foxy?). Oh and Flat Winkers is looking...extra glazed over today

Right inside the turnstiles they have CMs standing there with boxes or displays. One CM had a small clear box with a spider inside. Another had a piece of dung. I can't remember which animal it was from, but I felt I needed to take a picture of it:
As we walked through the Oasis area and onto Discovery Island, we noticed something. At first, we couldn't quite place our finger on it. Then it hit us. The crowds were
VERY LIGHT.. Was my crowd mojo back? I think so....
With low crowds and no kids, we took our time. I know I wanted to get a FP for Kilimanjaro Safaris since I had not ridden on Tuesday, but there was no rush.....

We strolled to the left of the Tree of Life on the path to Africa. We stopped at the entrance to Africa for a photo op with me and Flat Winkers:
It just dawned on me that I'm in alot of my own pictures. I almost always took pictures with you all in mind. Thank Kim for humoring me and being a good sport and taking all the crazy pix.

We walk over to get FPs for KS and notice the Stand By Wait Time is only 20 minutes. We think about it for mmm...2 seconds and decide to just use the Stand By Line. Here's Winkers and I at the entrance:
We walked through most of the line and waited no more than 10 minutes
Stand By!!!!! I don't even have to say it, do I?
<cue ominous music>
Well, we get on the ride and...............no animals. Well, not alot at least.

I was a little disappointed, but hey, not the last time I'm going to ride this attraction......
