Air fair pricing

We are going to Disney this December and I just booked out flight. We are going on Spirit out of Atlantic City and we are paying $185 per person (our AAA rep orignally told us last Dec that it would be more like $140, but because of fuel, its gone up?). Is that a good price? The bad part of Spirit is that you have to PAY for ANY luggage you bring on that is not carry on!! Its like $10/bag for the first two bags, then $20 each bag after, and thats only if you pre-purchase your bag ticket on the computer before hand. We are a party of 8, so its going to be a lot in baggage! I'm kind of upset with my AAA agent didn't tell me that part. She told me the price of Spirit and Continental, and told me to go with Spirit because its cheaper, but in the end, because of the extra baggage charge, it may be the same if not more. What do you guys think?

Well I would figure out how much luggage, and what it its going to cost, and tak to your travel agent and tell her that she didn't disclose all the information, and it is costing you $$ more then you thought because she didn't tell you everything. Take it to her supervisor if you have too.

Only problem - she told me to do the Spirit myself because then I could pick my own seats, so I did... I think I'm pretty much stuck with it.

i think that is a great price. we are looking at $549 a piece for the four of us in dec. so we decided to drive

It sucks about the Spirit Air...if it wasn't for a post on DIS I would have been in the same boat.

Ya know, I flew Spirit this past Feb to Florida, and they had a sign up saying that they were going to start charging for any stowed luggage, and I totally forgot about it when booking this flight. If I had remembered it, I would have put more thought into the other air line - but whatever - WERE GOING TO DISNEY!!!!

We're flying out of Philadelphia - Air Tran- and we're paying $158 plus tax round trip. Air Tran just changed their luggage policy to one piece free, $10 for the second piece. I wasn't happy about that, I can't imagine paying for all your luggage.
