Any 1st hand experiences. Is the park packed on this day from open to close? We will be there in Sept so that means it closes at 8PM and since we are not "hopping" this trip I am thinking of using EMH as a way to allow us to take a break and then return to the same park at night.

Thanks everyone!

Each EMH experience can be different.

I always go to AM EMH (virtually every day of the trip
that we did not do a PM EMH late the night before)...
never ONCE regretted an AM EMH... they are amazingly
empty and easy to ride the open attractions.
If that park THEN starts to fill 2 to 3 hours later...
Were happy with "doing" that park for the day and we
can HOP elsewhere or do lunch and take a rest until
later.

PM EMH's are a mixed bag. I've been when they were
PACKED... but on other nights (sometimes within the
same trip), the crowds were basically so low that it
was like "free rides" on all the open attractions.

Those who have attended PM EMH's and say that "they
are TOO CROWDED" are right... but ONLY for the nights
they may have attended.
I can say, from personal experience, that they CAN be
EMPTY, or FULL or somewhere IN-BETWEEN for attendance,
often within the same week.

We went to PM EMH at AK on a Wed night and PM EMH at MK
on a Sun night (early Spring visit.)
The EMH's were so EMPTY that we could have stayed on many attractions and ridden around and around.
This included Splash, BTM, and Pirates (and many more) at
MK, and Exp. Everest, Kali, and Dinosaur at AK. And
the crowds during the DAY at these parks were very
LARGE... within the first hour of EMH, they simply
"evaporated."

But, it can change so much (either way), that saying
it was "like X" on a given night, can be meaningless
on another night in the same time-period. So, you
simply don't KNOW unless you go. Its similar to saying
that you attended on a given night and it rained, so
guests should never go on that night because it will
probably be rainy.

The rule seems to be, it is far easier for guests to
STAY UP at the end of the day, than it is for them to
GET UP at the start of the day.

But, considering EMH's are FREE to attend... if its
busy, just people-watch or hit the exit (where ELSE
are ya gonna go at 10pm, anyway?)
But if its not busy... you're ALL SET for EXTRA FUN!

Winter Hours- Dark early:
No animal exploration trails are open for PM EMH.
The safari is not running either.
No night lighting at these attractions.

Summer Hours- Dark Later:
The safari might be running during PM EMH - until near Dusk.
No night lighting for this attraction.

We had a great time at PM EMH at AK in spring 2006.

EE, Dinosaur, Kali were walk-ons after the first hour, and we saw Festival of the Lion King during the first hour.

The park is outstandingly beautiful after dark!

I love EMH Night at AK. The park is totally different. Of course there aren't any animals, but, there are still things to do. The Tree of Life is spectacular!

AK is one park we make sure we do EMH Night. I'll look to see if I can dig up some pictures from last time.

I have to agree LOVE DAK at night and we had a wonderful experience there in Nov 2006 EMH We rode Kali over and over without getting off. We were SOAKED but had so much fun. I also agree LOVE morning EMH ....night is a toss up

Go to AK at night, even if you only do one ride -EE - it is even more exciting in the dark! We especially like the back seat!

Ooh..pics would be great! Stupid question: What time will it actually be "dark" in Florida in Sept?

Do they have an extra show of the Lion King for evening EMHs?

Not a stupid question at all. I am a librarian. I answer all questions.

The Sun sets at 7:45pm at the first of September and you loose about 1 minute a day to Sept 30th when it sets at 7:12. Twilight can last up to 1/2 hour later.

Daylight savings ends in October, so that won't be an issue.

EMH at AK is quiet and peaceful (unless you are on a ride :) )

I'll check my photos tonight and post what I can.

Thanks for answering those questions. We are going to try EMH at Animal Kingdom. I will look for the EMH times guide when we get there!
