Getting from Sanford Airport to Disney World

We flew into MCO last time we went to Disney, but now I've found a small local airport that has flights into SFB for cheap! We will not need a car at all when we are down there for 11 days (not til 09) but I'm wondering if there are any other transportation options besides renting a car to get to Disney? If not, is it necessary to keep the car the entire week, or can you rent for a day and return it somewhere at Disney and then rent another for the return to the airport? Is that even possible, and would it be cheaper? Never rented a car before so forgive my ignorance!

We will be doing this for the first time in a few weeks. We couldnt turn down the reasonable fares and direct flight that Allegiant allows through SFB! I will miss Magical Express and the familiarity of MCO, but everyone I talks to says SFB is worth it.

We are renting car(s) right now. I am still on the lookout for the best prices, but as of right now I have a van reserved for the whole trip, and I am reseaching getting another car for just the arrival/departure day. (we have 7 in our party so the van alone would be tight).

There are also shuttle services you can get to take you, which may be your better option if you do not need/want a car. We are keeping the car since my dad/bro like to golf alot it will be more convenient.

We just returned last week. We rented thru Dollar at SFB and dropped the car off at the Sun Regal Resort (formerly Grosvenor). We picked up a car there later in the week and returned it to SFB. Everything worked out wonderful! It was well-worth flying into Sanford.

That is awesome to hear! I am so nervous hoping it all will go smoothly! We are going through Dollar and so far I have the van for the length of stay and a compact car for the return trip, which I am picking up at the Regal Sun Resort! I am so happy to hear a positive review on doing this!

Disney provides complementary taxi transportation to their courses and will even store and transport the clubs over to another course for you if you are doing multiple courses.

The other option is car service. That runs you between $180.00 to $230.00 round trip. The service will get you there in less time than the arrival at MCO and taking the DME. Average time for car service is 60 to 90 minutes from arrival of you plane to Disney. Here is the link to the car services. You can shop around and get a pretty good deal.

Thanks:thumbsup2 They just prefer to have their own car when they get done, and since they are golfing more than once, it is just easier for them. I think it is a guy control thing or something :rotfl2:

That sounds like a good plan! Just wondering though, how do you get back to Disney World from the Sun Regal Resort after you drop the car off? Is there a bus to Disney then just like from the Disney Resorts? How long does that take? I'm not familiar with where that resort is. How much did the two rental cars cost you total, if you don't mind my asking?

The resort is just across the street from Downtown Disney. You can walk from there to the bus stop and grap a bus to your resort.

I am going to be flying into sanford airport on allegiant air and need transportation for 8 people to the disney animation resort. Any recomendations on a good company to use? thanks:)
