In search for apple juice. In search for apple juice. In search for water! Oh, sorry, flashbacks of June again. I've never seen Flights of Wonder. I see lots of birds in my backyard. We had a huge hawk a couple weeks ago. Totally cool. Wanna see a picture of it? Although it's not a good photo so nevermind.
Love your bat pose but you weren't sticking your tongue out so I subtract points. Uhm, anything else, nope. :upsidedow

Great update, Jordan! Ahh, the Great Apple Juice Debacle of 2008. We had the Great Water Bottle Debacle of 2007 this past summer. I had forgotten to bring a water bottle and I was DYING on the ridiculous outdoor section of the line for Dinosaur so my dad and I hopped off the line and seriously went to every single stand in Dinoland and none of them had water. NONE! No water! Ahh! It was a PITA and we finally had to wait on line for TWENTY MINUTES at Restaurantosaurus to get a water bottle. :headache: Animal Kingdom needs more readily available drinks! OK, rant over :lmao:

I've never seen Flights of Wonder but it looks good. We'll have to check it out next time. That Yak and Yeti bathroom's AWESOME! Now THAT's theming :thumbsup2 Baby J's so cute in the FOW picture, and that picture of you on the bench cracks me up! I think that's how we all feel after a long day at the parks :rotfl2:

Keep the updates coming!

Your apple juice quest reminds me:headache: of my "NORMAL FOOD" quest in EPCOT's World Showcase for my 2 kiddos who did NOT want the yummo Fish and Chips in the UK-I was a bit miffed, with myself, my kiddos and EPCOT!!! I felt badly afterward. That was in the latter days of my trip and I WILL get to it!! Looking back, it was a lesson and that hunt will not happen again!!

all caught up. sounds like AK was quite a day. im exhausted and ive just been reading about it!

Ergo, the maybe meltdown........:rolleyes1

Man, the things we'll go through for kids, eh? ;)

I got to see some bald eagles on my trip to Alaska. They are amazing creatures. Love the pictures of the kitty playing in the water :)

WOW!!!! It must have been awesome to see them in their natural surroundings.

That tortoise story is hilarious.:rotfl2:

I may have more Shmu tributes coming up...:rolleyes1

A kid's meltdown or a Jordan meltdown??

Very good question to be asking........:rolleyes1

I love the tiger pics:lovestruc ...beautiful!

That figures about the apple juice:laughing: That's too bad you had to go through all that just for him to have warm apple juice when he awoke:rotfl:

I have more, but those 2 were my favorite.

I don't even think he drank it until we got back to the room

wow jordan this is the fastest i think i have responded to one of your updates.

tiger pics look great, they were scratching there stomachs on the trees when we were there.

glad you got to see them in the water.

nice grab on the apple juice.

I thought I'd post this story so people would know where APPLE JUICE ISN'T.:rolleyes1

DUN DUN DUN

Exactly

So....what DID they have??? :confused3

I was saying nope, no apple juice.....:)

Dude said:
We had a similar experience looking for frozen lemonade. Then we found it, and had problems with our snack credits. :headache: Glad you found it.....at least you can easily transport a juice box as opposed to an open cup with no lid...

When you want something the most...........

OOOh a meltdown! :surfweb:

Yup.

my kids LOVED the animals at AK....but we learned our lesson, and got a water bottle at the first stand we saw. then we just hauled it around. :thumbsup2

I think you're right about getting drinks up front.

We only have pigeons and sparrows in our yard

It seems like everyone has an AK beverage story. Maybe that should be a hint to Disney.

I'm not really into animal shows, but I liked this one...and have seen it multiple times...

I think that's why they now have the 2 stands on either side of the WS that serve hot dogs and turkey legs...still depending on where you are it can be a walk. Oh and near Canada there's that McDonalds stand--again from the UK quite a walk just for food......

That is so funny about the Apple Juice Safari! Typcial when you have kiddos. You strive to do the right thing, then they fall asleep on you. :confused3 :lmao:

The restroom experience was hilarious!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Glad it was clean and air conditioned for you.

The only time (2007) we walked the trails we (a) couldn't get near the windows to see due to so many people, and (b) all the animals were toward the back and not close enough for a decent pic. It looks like you had your animal pic MOJO going on, on this trip too!:thumbsup2

Oops I missed yours...

I was laughing when the Indian people came in.....It was a bit surreal.

There were alot of people when we were there too. I just threw some people out of the way.....;)

I'm happy to hear that they changed Flights of Wonder. I did not love that tour guide thing!

It sounds like it was so hot! I didn't know it was that warm in Feb!

I see you have your ticker up.....:thumbsup2

Our day at AK was the hottest day of the week, it was 85 or 86 that day.

I didn't mind the "tour guide" thing, it just makes the show less re-seeable....

I walk towards Asia and come to a shack selling Frozen Coke products. Perhaps they would have bottled Apple Juice......."No juice for you.", said the Coke Nazi.
I miss Seinfeld :(.

Thankfully, there is now a restroom at the Yak and Yeti....it's just an entrance to a restroom, but so wonderfully themed.......

While I was relieving myself, a group of Indians (from India) came in and were talking. I thought to myself, "Now this is taking immersive theming to a whole new level." I half expected to walk outside and be in the middle of New Delhi, India......

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I was surprised to see the tigers so active today and it sure wasn't surprising to see one of the tigers do this:
wdwfeb2008200.jpg

wdwfeb2008201.jpg

Wish I could be that tiger right now...

Holy buck teeth, Batman!!!!!

:rotfl2: Didn't notice until you pointed it out! I assumed those were your bat fangs. :rotfl:

About 3/4 of the way, I found a bench and "sat" for a few minutes. (Tribute to Shmu's DH...read her PTR....and meet Puny Pirate)
wdwfeb2008202.jpg

Or if I can't be that tiger, I wish I could be doing that right now -- do you think my students would notice if I just laid my head down for a minute?

Today, the poor host had the worst time with the birds.....they were all crazy and doing their own thing.....maybe they were looking for Apple Juice too...:rolleyes1

My favorite part of the show--the Bald Eagle for sure......Such a great icon.

Awesome picture :thumbsup2

There's a bald eagle around our place but it's hard to get a good picture of it.

Next up:Would I make it back to the room before a meltdown?

Uh oh.......what happened? popcorn::

Hey Jordan,

Man I had some catching up to do, I guess that is what I get for just siting around enjoying the beautiful weather out here.

Great report, Great pictures

I was thinking you need to get over to Disneyland to get some Peeps shots, seems to be the time to get them.

Keep up the good work see ya on the beach

DM!!!!!!! I am slowly making my way through your TR...too bad I can't comment.....:sad2:

We only have pigeons and sparrows in our yard..

That's okay. If you ever have something you really want to comment on, PM me! Otherwise, I'm glad you're reading!

Pigeons and sparrows? Yuck. We have lots of bird, like cardinals, blue birds, finches. But we also back up to a wooded area. We even have wild turkey (a gaggle of about 14), deer, foxes, dirty rotten groundhogs. And we're not even in the country. We are just just a close suburb of Syracuse, NY.

Another good photo-filled report. Why is it every time we're in AK, the animals are 100 yards away from us? Great pics of the tiger.

OMG i would have been so mad to come back and find Dylan sleeping but I guess it's better than coming back to a cranky Dylan who started a crying fit when you tried to MAKE him drink the juice he didn't want. :confused3

I'm jealous that you got pics of the tiger in the water. All they ever do when I'm there is sleep.

And I did not notice that bathroom at Y & Y...where is it in relation to the front entrance of the restaurant?

FoW was the "original show" with the tour guide when we were there in March...we didn't go see the show but we could hear it going on when we walked by a hundred million times looking for chicken strips (i haven't gotten to that part in my TR so you just got a freebie lol) Maybe the tour guide was sick that day? I love it when the birds don't cooperate! It makes you realize that they are still wild animals at heart, and us big, tough human beings can't do anything about it!

LOL! I'd love an adult stroller. Too funny that Dylan was zonked after you ran around like a man man. Go figure, my kiddos are the same way. You were very nice to do so though Jordan. :)

OMG I can't believe how hard it was to find apple juice  Glad you got it in the end though and then he was asleep :rotfl:

How funny about the Indian people in the toilets :lmao:

I'm shocked you actually found a juice box. MB drinks nothing but water and LG is satisfied with a diet sprite.

The Hidden Mickeys are IN this picture. They're actually easier to see from farther back. Do you have a picture of the stage? You can see them much better.

wdwfeb2008198.jpg

Man, Jordan, you hit paydirt with those tiger shots. Goodonya!! I must catch flights of wonder agian. It's been years!!
